seriously!! for months i've been wiping deku's fur with pet wipes and everytime i wipe her butt it smells of really strong parmesan cheese! it was sooooo gross! like it would stink up a good portion of my room that's how smelly she was. so i couldn't take it anymore n decided it's time for a bath since she never had one and is 9 months old now. but yes hahahah i was surprised at how different she looked too! so was so skinny! n ya those little sad meows=( but she survived and i survived hahahha
I love my Siberian. He sits, gives me his paw , and turns around on command. Sits still in baths and fetches. I’ve only had dogs growing up and so putting him on a harness wasn’t odd to me. Yes. My Siberian also takes walks in the neighborhood 😆. Love my cat
Siberian Cats usually are not shy of water, heck they love swimming (when well trained). Have to make your kitty more comfortable with this element, bath it more frequently, first time is always the challenge.
Quick question does she shed everywhere as in her fur flies around after getting groomed or is it minimal? My parents are hesitant in getting a Siberian because my aunt's ragdoll sheds a lot but she doesn't groom her cat.
i would say yes. every 2-3 days i have to vacuum my entire apartment otherwise all my carpet and sofa will be covered with white fur. i brush her every other day to prevent her having a build up of hairballs in her throat when she grooms herself. this prevents her from puking up hairballs. when i groom her, cat's fur is very light. so it does fly everywhere. all your house clothes will be covered in cat hair so a lint roller is your best friend. especially during shedding season ( spring & fall) she shed more than usual because she is changing her coat to prepare for summer or winter. and i think as for your aunt's ragdoll not getting groomed, its more harmful to the cat than the shedding issue. because if a long haired cat's fur isnt groomed it leads to mats that tug onto their skin and can be very painful for your kitty. having any furry pet will cover ur house in fur whether it's short or long fur. its a lot of work but it is so worth it! if your parents dont want fur everywhere but want a pet, the only thing i can think of is a Spynx( hairless cat) or a dog ( poodles are a non shedding breed). but dogs also require a lot more of your attention then cats do getting a pet is a lot of work daily ( daily teeth brushing, grooming, play time etc) so be prepared for all that before your parents get a siberian or any cat because shedding isn't the only issue.
You should get a attachable water head for your faucet. Like a regular removable shower head just for a smaller faucet. It'll make it a lot easier, plus it helps make sure you get all the soap out
Thanks! I wanted to give my kitten a bath early so he would like them, but winter came early this year and it’s just too cold. He’s 3.5 months so he will be your kittens age when he’s ready. What is amazing is he gets muddy sometimes and how it just doesn’t stick. He does like water and is interested in the shower. He loves the snow ❤😂🎉
i don't quite remember. i got it from my vet's office. and since then they have a different one. but just go to your vet and ask them which one they recommend for your cat
sorry i wouldn't know. i just so happen to find her online from an ad =( so definitely check online to see if there are any reliable breeders in your area. make sure its not a sketchy breeder because you don't want to get a sick kitten
i think maybe 20 mins for the bath and close to an hour to blow dry her in the carrier because she is a long hair cat and i wanted to dry her enough so she wouldnt catch a cold
Would washing her in the bathroom in a baby bath on the floor be easier? You could use a shampoo spray to rinse the soap out faster as well on a gentle setting. Our family cat Pushkins was an angel except at bath time which involved a ball of fury, hissing and claws, we tried towels, treats, soothing, and in the end just used wipes because trauma lol.
HAHAHAHA! omg i can already imagine!!! i would definitely try the shampoo spray next time! thats really smart! and my bathtub clogs easily so i cant imagine what my bathtub would be like if i bath a cat in there because the cat hairs are so fine, even a strainer wont cat all of it
i found her off of kijiji. and i was lucky to find a small breeder. which meant they didnt have any website or anything =( sorry i can't help. but i know finding any pet with a reasonable price is hard right now because everyone got pets once the pandemic started. i noticed that breeders raised the prices of kittens and puppies by $1000-2000 depending on the breed. it's crazy and unfortunate that breeders are raising the prices because of the pandemic i wish you best of luck!!!
Well thank God.We’ve been looking for breeders in [cansored] and then we go to a shelter They said that they were going to get a cat on Monday, and we’re like what type was it? Hypoallergenic Siberian cat. We fill out the order and papers and reserved an appointment. They were closed on Monday because new cats were going to the vet and they were closed on Monday. [this is all I’ve done lol 😂]
@@flooferss if you really get a chance to get a siberian cat from the shelter then you're extremely lucky!!! i really hope you get to take the cat home soon!! =)
My siberian never drank from his water bowl again after I started bathing him. Now only fresh water straight from the tap will do, and he will sit next to the sink and call for me whenever he is thirsty.
have you ever thought of getting them a water fountain? that might help. otherwise who would let your kitty drink in the middle of the night when ure asleep?
sorry for the late reply, but yes i wouldn't force because they might get scared because they don't know what you're trying to do. sometimes it might just be the personality of your cat not like being held. you can try giving your cat a treat when they are on your lap and NOT STRUGGLING. if they struggle and jump off your lap then don't give the treat. make sure to give the treat when they are on your lap so they would associate your lap with treats =) i hope this helps
@@kukusdiary9022 thank you was trying what you said, but it seeems i need more time :d he is 4 months old now :D sometimes he sits and cuddles but sometimes he goes mad and runs around, bites or scratches.
@@zoomzoomcat hahaha you will need a long time before the kitten settles. it's only 4 months old with so much of that baby kitten energy, cuddling definitely wouldn't be it's priority haha! but yes sometimes cats get too stimulated when being pet for too long so they would become aggressive and try to bite or scratch. it's very normal. to prevent yourself from getting bitten or scratched from petting, a tell tale sign that the cat has had enough petting is if their tail twitches or swoosh like it's about to hunt. at that point you should stop petting it cuddling it

Two tips:
1. Give her food that has more fiber in it and this won't be an issue.
2. Use wood pellets for litter and she won't stink.

Well there is no problem if they didn't bath in water a vet told me . If they didn't love water then there is no need to do that .
I brush my Siberian as her fur dries I find it help her not hate after a bath because she knows she getting a brush after 😂
