Hi, I worked with you Linda.. think there was Glen, Bill, me and Kevin.. then the chief.. I made tea for the Officers.. Reg and another guy was on reception.. Typing pool.. you were in the main office with another women.. you bought a single for me from Wollies.. I won sweep stake on Red Rum.. All the best
A very one sided view of Chatham historic dockyard. You missed out so much! Ropery, covered slipways, the museum and it's artifacts. The steam railway and many other historic buildings within the complex.
There’s only so much you can include in a TV segment under ten minutes in length. Having family that worked at the dockyard for generations I’m well aware of what it has to offer but that wasn’t the purpose of this particular film. The film met people who found work at the dockyard in its latest incarnation who still have a role to play in retelling its history to new generations. Thank you for taking the time to watch it and feeling moved enough to comment :)
I visited the Dockyard in 2023 and was so impressed - by its history, certainly - but mostly by encounters with staff who had so much knowledge and a willingness to share it. Fascinating to meet people who were ‘there’. Go if you get the chance!
