Especially when he went from the 74 deep accuracy back up to 89 or whatever it was from one season to the next. Eventually, they just said, 'wow, this dude ain't retiring' and kept his stats bumped up lol
The 2001/02 brings back awesome memories. I really enjoyed Madden back then. '05 was interesting because it was promoted heavily on Defense. The linebackers, safeties, etc suddenly had absolutely jacked arms. I remember there was like a "Silver" edition with a closeup of Ray Lewis that I bought. It had a playable Madden '95 on it.
Remember when you could save your created player in NCAA and transfer him to Madden with your ratings you earned from NCAA. Edit: wow this blew up but man I’m glad we all had some great core memories

He was an efficient game manager. It would be years before Brady started coming into his prime just when the NFL started becoming more QB/passer friendly. Brady has thrived. Right place, right time. Funny how the older Madden installments had more realistic character movement (both aerobic and dynamic), jersey accuracy (the spacing of the letters in the player's surname and the number size), and camera/game mechanics than anything EA has released since like... six years ago. They just don't care anymore.
This is actually a really nice walk though Brady’s history in a way. Madden 2002 was the first madden game I got specially because as a kid it was after the Patriots won the Super Bowl lol.
and Brady wasn't even on the default roster of madden 2002 as well. unless you knew how to do a PAL to NTSC roster coverter if you lived outside america we couldn't even update the rosters to get Tom Brady and had to be a created player
Such a great video man. You did so well with commentary and editing! And EA/Madden needs to take all of these old features and compile them into the new Maddens. Such as analog kicking with timing real time, QB vision, breakaway view.
I usually don't like watching other people play video games, but this was just interesting to see how the game changed. How Brady changed, and how the roster around him changed in 21 years of playing. It honestly moved by super fast, it doesn't even seem like 21 years.

On the controversy that is “QB vision” is something that you either hate or love. The ones that loved it were the ones that played as Tom Brady and Peyton Manning. The ones that hated it are people like me, that played as the bills and had JP losman and his “sliver” and totally created a large imbalance between the two players.
Actually my friends and I loved it and we all started a franchise with Losman, Grossman, n big Ben to name a few. Playing with a small cone was tough but it was realistic. Once you learned how to set the cone to a WR before the play and how to quickly flip to another WR when you saw him open (not the thumb stick) it was fun. The after a sea or 2 your QB would have a much larger cone. Sad how 06 franchise is head and shoulders better than madden now. Even the awareness mattered and made a difference.
Can't believe this was bradys last year.. it really felt like he would be in the league for a couple more years but I'm glad I got a chance to watch his greatness, the goat #12

My first Madden was 2004 and I used 49ers. First time playing and I won. And I just became a 49ers fan after that. And it’s amazing how the graphics has improved, game play and just everything
I played Madden since '88 on the PC, had every console version starting in '90 on the Genesis - until just a few years ago when they just refused to update the franchise mode and I finally stopped buying it. But think of that, I was playing Madden for 13-years before Brady was even in the game, and when it's all said and done, Brady will play 26-years just to double that and somehow spite me. Now that is the sign of a winner.
I'm playing 18 19 and 21 and I'm enjoying these older games and the colors and player models I like better than 22 sometimes new doesn't mean better or fresh. Now the older games r fresh and new ones boring?????:)

The gameplay is much smoother and and less glitchy on m21 than m22 on ps5 it is really bothering me it feels like playing madden 20 or 19 plus they already found a way to mess up the duel sence feeling with m22
