I think IF Rd. 2 is the best draft pick you can get for Justin Field’s, the Bears MUST keep Field’s Draft Caleb and let em battle it out in Camp and it is a good problem to have, BUT THE BEARS MUST GET THE QB POSITION CORRECT!! Must
@michaeloneill3797 Caleb would beat fields Day 1. The fact fields doesnt have draft value after three years in the nfl is proof teams fields isn’t the guy and is a bust
I could’ve sworn poles said he’s only trading the #1 overall draft pick if it’s an *historical haul* the trades purposed by Yates is anything but that.
Am I the only one not sold on Caleb, not saying he is going to be a bust, but there is alot of Hype. He may be a better option over Fields , but I'm not sure.
I think there is a lot of hype. I think he has a lot of the same weaknesses that they say Fields has, and he is smaller and slower and seems a bit more immature (hard to tell, I don't remember big stories about Fields when he was getting drafted, but he also wasn't being hyped like Caleb). Everyone says the crying in the stands with his mom just shows how emotional he was and its not a big deal. But I look at that as a major red flag for a LEADER to have. You lose the way they did, you go to your team and be a leader. You don't go crawling up into the stands to cry in your mom's arms. That's more of a sign of narcissism. Your teammates lost, too. Set the example and be their leader.
i think the kingbury flip flop to end up in washington means that they are moving up to 1 to get caleb ,poles has said he is open to shipping the pick and his team wants fields so they move down they take harrison jr at 2 that solves the upgrade at WR2 plus they get extra picks to build up the team in other area's as well and the trade down means they could be picking top 5 again in 2025 with an upgraded roster you could trade fields next year and draft a QB if fields doesnt take strides they hope with a better team surrounding that QB
Idk man did you see Poles' last statement? It's pretty clear he prefers trading Fields over trading the #1 pick. And it would be the worst decision to stick with Fields another year and then trade him and draft a qb in next year's draft anyway. That's just ANOTHER wasted season and ANOTHER wasted opportunity to draft the best qb in the draft. It's not even debatable at this point... take Williams #1 then either take Nabers/Odunza #9 or trade up to #4 to get to MHJ after Washington and New England take the other 2 top qb prospects. Coming out of this draft with Williams/Nabers or Odunze or Williams/MHJ is a far better option than sticking with Fields and getting MHJ. You hit on a qb and the rebuild is essentially over. You stick with Fields and the rebuild continues until you find a good qb
Trade the pick Trade with WAS, get pick 2, 2024 2nd, 2025 1st, 2025 2nd Then trade pick 2 to NYG, get pick 6, 2024 2nd, 2025 1st Then draft Bowers or Nabers, whoever is available at 6. Summary: Trade Caleb Williams Get Bowers/Nabers, 2 2nd rounders in 2024, 2 1st rounders in 2025 and a 2025 2nd Bears draft picks after trade 2024: 1st round pick 6 (Nabers/Bowers, whoever is available), 1st round pick 9 (best OL available) 2nd round from WAS, 2nd round from NYG 3rd, 4th, 4th and 5th remaining 2025: 1st round Chicago, 1st round from WAS, 1st round from NYG 2st round Chicago, 2nd round from CAR 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 6th from MIA remaining
Fields had a chance to make this a difficult decision week 18 vs packers. could've kept them out of the playoffs and he put up 9 points. good riddance.
Love how short the memory is concerning 'Franchise QBs', half of them end up terrible, %30 avg. to good, %20 at most Franchise, everyone mentions Mahomes but forget he went to a great team and got to sit for a yr with a great coach, you put Patrick on the Texans team that drafted Carr at 1 and no one remembers Pat, trust me
And no one at the time thought Mahomes was going to be great, just that he had a lot of potential. The experts almost entirely picked Bryce Young over CJ Stroud, just like they mostly picked Trubisky over Mahomes. So either the experts know very little, or circumstances and surroundings are vital to whether a prospect becomes great. Either way, you're right that no one is destined to be great.
For a large enough sample you gotta go at least 40 yrs back and there is zero chance its %80, granted its prob a bit more than what i initially said@@JJ-zr6fu
Bears New OC Shane Waldren coaches borh JF and Caleb in the Off-season. 💯 But if Waldren can make Geno Smith a Mvp candidate...What can he do with Justin Fields? 😳😳😳💯
If I was the Bears GM I want your 2024 2nd rd pick, 2025 1st & 2nd rd picks & your 2026 1st & 2nd rd picks ... How bad do you want Caleb & im takin calls from all 31 teams 😈, btw I think CHI should draft Caleb
@@robertflores8234 Then I would draft Caleb it’s a win win for the Bears, me personally I would draft Caleb but I’m def taxin if you want the 1st pick, I mite ask for your 2027 1st pick to why not 🤷🏾♂️
I love how these guys hypothesise. I'd imagine the number one consideration for the front office is that the decision they make is determined by what they think will keep them in a job.
@@gerritfridericksohn4627the only answer is Caleb. You’d reset the contract clock on the most expensive position in football. You technically buy yourself a year of forgiveness from Warren & the McCaskeys (being that it’s Caleb’s 1st year), but you also still can make a push for the playoffs, as Caleb is walking into a Bears team that’s within striking distance of a wild card spot in the NFC.
"Hmmm if we run with Trubisky we will get fired. If we draft Fields we will definitely keep our job. They wouldn't fire us after one year with a rookie right???" One year later. Bye bye
1. Mahomes didn't come into the draft being comped to anyone, Caleb has impossible expectations to fill. and 2. The Bears staff is not Andy Reid . 3. the real issue is the inability of Bears HC to develop quarterbacks
You've segmented this video, and the segment you've titled "Trade #2 - New England Patriots" doesn't even mention the New England Patriots or a trade involving them. Good work.
Patriots fan here....... that's my number 1 nightmare!!! CW is Murray 2.0 In my opinion the bears should trade #1 to Washington ( steal wash 2 seconds..........get super ballsy trade NE pick 2 draft MHJ and an ol @9 and have at least 3 2nds this yr
Caleb is the pick. But the haul is worth it too. Bears could trade down twice and get another OT and two dynamic offensive talents that can catch. Plus additional first round picks next year.
Guard and Center is a much bigger need. And we don't want all rookies on the line. If we keep Fields, we can trade back from #9 as well and draft Powers-Johnson and even one of the top guards in the 2nd with a pick we get for trading back. That would be sweet!!!
Fields is just as good as Mariota and a processor just as good as Jamarcus Russel give him a chance!!! He’s gonna be top 25 next year 🔥 💯 40 td’s and 30 interceptions for his career never gone over 2400 yards passing he’s a beast!!
Ha. Ha. Did you know that even after losing their top-2 players on D that Brian Flores turned the Worst D in the NFL to exactly #16? Or that after throwing 36 TDs to only 6 INTs Lamar Jackson was made out to be so pedestrian that everyone said he was a glorified RB? Play-calling matters. & so does support from your coaches. Tell me, anyone, how often would Joe Burrow have to stare at instead of pass to open receivers before they'd take him into the blue tent? 3 Max? Yet not only were the Bears not concerned when he started doing this, they *weren't surprised.* Matt Eberflus the HC waved away reporter's questions about this. How tf could he have been *_prepared_* for Fields to *do* that in advance? Unless it was part of the play called. Even though he has no background _in_ calling offenses, Eberflus has made it clear that He decides what plays to limit the offense to. Who cancelled the designed QB rushes that made them the #1 offense for several weeks in a row? Who stuck to failed plays no matter what? Now we have two distinct signs that this HC is calling plays designed to *undermine* the offense. & I ain't done yet. But I'll give more details only if anyone asks. It seems that Eberflus *and Poles* (who hired him don't forget) had a dream of building what they could consider their Own Team from the ground up & that meant putting Their Choices in key positions & getting rid of locker-room leaders like Monty & Roquan. Fields is both. Fields has said in post-game press talks that he does Not Know what his coaches expect of him. Even after publicly stating this, his coaches did not rectify that problem. So there's a third sign that they've wanted him out. The problem is, Poles may be tempted to keep him. How is that supposed to play out? Does Eberflus hold no resentment against Fields & start calling good plays? Does Fields just shrug it all off? I for one wouldn't be able to trust someone that I knew would do that to anyone.
One thing about the DT convo that you're not factoring in is the fact that most NFL teams have moved to a platoon mentality like most colleges have. No defensive linemen necessarily needs to give you a high volume of snaps.
I’m gonna be honest, it’s only upwards for Fields from here IF he stays on the Bears. Not only has he shown signs of faster processing and being a better pocket passer, but you get a competent offensive coordinator who’s (hopefully) good enough to play to Fields’ playstyle, but also pair that with MHJ, Moore, Kmet, and a decent running back you have a VERY VERY good offense. Like I said, Fields is only gonna get better, this is NOT his ceiling.
If you're still at the "showing signs" stage 3 years into your career and are still a bottom 5-10 passer after 3 years, then you are not really progressing, you're just gaining experience
If the bears want to trade they should do it with the commanders and draft Marvin Harrison Jr that would dang near make them a top team in the Nfc in my opinion
WR M. Harrison - Ohio St DE D. Robinson- Missouri OC J.P.Johnson- Oregon OG/OT P.Paul- Houston Edge Chris Barswell- Alabama WR Brian Thomas- LS U OG Z..Zinter- Michigan RB A.Estine N. Dame CB A. Mukuba- Clemson QB J. Milton- Tenn
T'Vondre Sweat reminds me of Vince Wilfork in how dominant he can be at times. Wilfork played at around 350 pounds. He was a 60% player, in that he's in on 60% of the defensive snaps. Sweat is like a 45% to 55% player. Does that warrant a mid to late 1st? That will be up to teams that have a huge DT need. Sweat would be great as part of a rotation.
My biggest questions about Caleb Williams is what kind of team mate will he be? Hearing talk about wanting ownership in a team, if I don’t want to play there I’ll go back to USC, not having an agent. All of those add up to a red flag for me. Is he going to have Baker Mayfield level commercials? I don’t begrudge anyone money or control over their career. But it seems to be much more of a first focus coming out the gate. He has t played a down yet. Recent history shows us that number 1 pics don’t end up what we think they will be at least half of the time. Good QBs can be found later. I say trade the pick to Washington if you can get at least the 2 this year and their first next year. If Fields is your guy use that number 2 of Harrison. Extend Fields at a discount based on his play so far. And sign a good running back. If he isn’t your guy, take your guy at 2 and trade Fields. Still sign a good RB.
I would say that the best case scenario for the Bears and it is realistic is that they trade the one for that trade offer to Washington. Then they trade that number to pick to the patriots so they can get another first round pick next year so the patriots can draft Drake Maye and then you get Marvin Harrison at three and somebody else at nine. that would set Justin Fields and the team up for years
I agree your choices may be the safe bet for the Bears. But I don't share your concerns for Caleb. As there seems to be no proof that Caleb really said ANY of those things, like not playing for the Bears, or going back to school. There is no official "List" of teams he wants to play for, that was just somebody posting a tweet. True, he does not have an agent, but he does have a lawyer. Like Baker Mayfield, he will probably have commercials because he has them already. But Baker made his during the off season, so it should not have affected him much. Caleb was voted Team Captain by his USC teammates. He paid for his entire 8 man offensive line to go with him to get the Heisman. Plan fare, hotel food, paid for the whole bit, because he was already a millionaire. Which means the money thing will not be a big distraction for him upfront, like it was for Johnny Football.
Lol... Lamar Jackson doesn't have an agent. Pat Mahomes does tons of commercials. Eli Manning refused to play for the Chargers when they drafted him. If Fields is "the guy" he won't be giving anyone a discount and if he's not the guy they should take their guy #1, not wait to take whatever qb is left at #2. You seem a bit confused
@@DuckFanDane lol.... all that hinges on Fields being good, which he hasn't been. If Williams is good, the Bears will hace passed on Cj Stroud and Williams in back to back drafts in order to keep a terrible qb instead lol
@@AdamB34 yeah and if he’s terrible and struggles like he did in the second half of the urine college last year, they will have trade away a good QB because fields is going to be a good QB and wasted this opportunity to get more draft picks. He is a massive risk when we know field is going to be good trade and get all the and still improve your team. We talk about fields not being good because he makes some mental errors. Sometimes Caleb Williams makes mental errors also And comparing him to Patrick Mahomes is an insult to Patrick Mahomes . If Williams is good, but not great, then it makes sense to trade the pic like I said.
As a Bears fan I cannot remember a tougher choice. I've done 100 mocks on the sims, you get a much better draft when trade the pick, but then the Bears have never had an elite QB and that is really tempting. Having said that I will support whoever the Bears QB is. I am a Bears fan more than a JF1 fan or a CW fan.
Remember when the bears traded a haul for Mack? That year the raiders had three first rounders and everyone praised their picks. They were all busts. The bears had a two year super bowl window. Take the more sure thing. That’s why poles took DJ moore instead another 1st. Caleb is the closest to a sure thing since burrow.
And he is one year off a potential rookie max extension. If he goes off, you lose half of your salary just to Fields. Besides he doesn’t even want to be there, his heart is in Atlanta.
This actually is easy. You take Caleb Williams. There is a reason why you'd get more if you trade the 1st pick than if you traded Justin Fields. It's worth more.
My guess is either Fields will be their QB - or - they will trade Fields to the Falcons AND then trade the #1 pick to the skins. And then with the skins #2 pick they draft Maye or Daniels. That way they get a bevy of extra picks out of Fields and Williams.
@@sicaluffa Why is that 'dumb'? I'm sure people thought it was 'dumb' to draft Stroud first right?! Ouch! NOBODY knows who will be the best QB in this years draft until they actually play in the NFL.
I don't really trust Fields looking beyond Moore. Kmet was basically his checkdown, and Mooney became invisible despite having a 1000 yard season two years ago. Even Bagent was better at spreading the ball around. I'd rather roll with Williams, who will at least do the same after getting by without Jordan Addison last season, instead of staying with Fields and drafting a WR with 1 or 9.
43 rd pick not enough for fields . QB Rosen and Darnold both were traded for that and more. Minimum 1st round pick. Atlanta must swap 1st round picks with Chicago, give up a 2nd, 4th and a 3rd next year 2025. If not, Pittsburg will give up the 20th pick overall for fields
The NFL did not push Eric Beinemy to UCLA, but rather it is a combination of multiple things not working out in his favor. It would be interesting to see his interview scores are.
I'm a Giants fan, first and foremost. So my main interests are the Giants. Having said that, the Bears could trade with the Giants from 9 to 6, pairing Caleb with Nabers... I believe this takes the pressure off the Giants to reach for a QB at 6th... I like Nabers but we need a QB to develop, especially with Daniel Jones under contract. This gives the Bears a top WR, the Giants get a 2 tier QB to develop and another second round pick (3 in all). I don't believe drafting a WR at 6 will have an immediate impact with Jones under center. So there are opportunities for the Bears if the Giants are willing.
Draft Caleb and package pick #9 and additional assets to get up to #4 and draft MHJ who I feel will still be available. If not you likely have your pick of either the second/third best WR and OL in the draft at #9.. trade fields to recoup some of said assets & bears should be able to win 9/10 games for a possible wildcard spot next year. Division will not be a cake walk for any team, GB, DET, MN will all be formidable.
Take the haul and Draft Drake MAYE… MAYE is far better than Justin Fields and I believe has a good chance to be better than Caleb… He already has better leadership and maturity. Also he is about 6’5 and very athletic with a huge arm. Take the haul and you can’t lose. So many blue chip talents with a ton of cap space. It’s the smartest play by far
It's not difficult just trade Justin and draft Caleb. Very simple. Also, if I'm Washington or NE, im not even thinking about trading up when Daniel's and Maye are amazing options.
1st Rd picks bust at a 80% Rate. QBs push that number wayyyyy up. QB1 in a draft , looking at Lincoln Riley QBs like Baker Mayfield and Kyler Murray who went No 1 overall. They both bust for the teams who drafted them. 🤷 Kyler you may say jury is out ..fine. But would you take him No 1 overall again? No. Lincoln Riley is elite at schemes, your OC likely isn't as good. 🤷💯 Plus, this is Nfl. 4.4 LBs, Safeties, CBs. DL hit home in 1.8 seconds. Fields has led Nfl in Sacks multiple years. He needs help up the middle. Center is definitely a huge need. Guard pry as well since players get hurt. Justin Fields tho, what would you put his % at to be great? 50/50? Those are way better odds than the draft. If you look at rhe QB1s again, they bust around 60% of the time. That's just No.1 overall QBs. Then you add in it's not JF vs Caleb, but JF and Tons, Tons of draft capital vs Caleb. 🤔 I think the smart move is to stay with Fields and take a high upside QB mid Rds to develop and compete the next 2years.
Plenty of teams would take Kyler on a rookie deal @ #1. Yes, everyone drafted (including the people you take with the picks you'd get) MAY be a bust, but you already KNOW JF ain't it. You need a top tier QB to compete in the current NFL. Look @ the super bowl for a perfect example.
@@TheMattTrakker I disagree JF ain't it. They play calling was horrible. You gotta call plays to someone's strength. Not 20 screens a game. 😅💯 He would read 1 DJ (DJ had 1,400yards?) Read 2 Kmet under DJ. Then on film you see when he comes back across either 1. The middle of the Line had collapsed and JF had pressure in his face or 2. The few times JF could get to 3-4 in his reads because the Oline, Nobody has any separation. Mooney was never schemed open like Nagy did. And they never got a Big WR outside Claypool who sat on the sidelines the entire training camp cussing at everyone. 😅💯🤷 If Fields has a good Center, another WR who can get open. A Good scheme which, the OC who made Geno Smith a Mvp candidate should be able to make JF1 a Mvp as well. 💯
Fields the goat for changing the Falcons trade topic when he realized Mel was talking about the Fields trade for 43 and not the big time trade for the 1st pick… gotta help the old dudes sometimes 😭
So best ideas; -Get Caleb trade 9 and a 1st to Cardinals for Marvin. -Keep fields trade 1st to Pat's for 3rd and a few other picks. Take Marvin at 3 and Bowers at 9. Explosive offense.
Has one of these trades where a team traded 3 first round picks to move up to draft a QB ever worked out in the NFL for the team that traded up? Seriously, looking on back those trades none of these types of trades have ever worked in the NFL. You’re giving up your full future to draft a position that has a 30% or so hit rate in the NFL. That’s never a good idea
A lot of people like to goof on Kiper, but one thing is obvious: he loves what he does. That's pretty cool in my book. Kiper is OK as far as I'm concerned.
IMO, as a lifelong Bears fan and Chicago native, the Bears must stick with Justin. If it was a choice between Justin and Manning or Brady, of course you move Justin. The Bears are lucky to have a tough, athletic kid with an untapped ceiling right now. He's maturing and gaining confidence, mostly on his own. The Bears have never developed a QB. They're not made for that, never were. If they dump Justin for some unattainable pipe dream, they will destroy their own mojo. Justin WILL become elite, the Bears will get exposed as ignorant, short-sighted stiffs and Chicago will experience another decade of bleakness. Their best move is to go all-in with Justin, ASAP, replenish the war chest with big guns and become a perennial contender for the division. They are crazy to start over with the goal of Superbowl or bust. Winning Superbowls takes far more than an elite QB. The Chiefs don't win without their defense and special teams, even with Mahomes. Same with Patriots. The Bears need to build a strong foundation that attracts blue-collar players who want to win. Cleaning house is for the desperate. Build right: big & nasty in the trenches, then compliment with skilled athletes. Selling the farm for a Caleb or Drake is insane and terrible judgement. But, the McCaskeys have always been incompetent. I assume they'll fail this opportunity too. KEEP JUSTIN and just win, baby!!!!
Yo I’m in the thinking of I would trade 1st pick with Washington and draft Harrison Jr. to go opposite of DJ Moore that gives them a top 5 receiver core hands Down. My next two picks offensive Line. Defense with the rest with best available in mind. They also have crazy amounts of money for free agency. I’d work on Defense defense defense and possibly a star back from Free agency! This scenario makes Chicago very close to playoff potential.
If all these teams feel like Mel that Caleb is so superior then the bids are going to be way way more than what is said here. Washington would have to give 2 2024 2nd's, a 2025 1st and probably a few more high draft picks.
The only + Caleb has over Fields is Mid Range Accuracy. Very similar. Fields more accurate deep. Both have 💩 the bed in games. Fields you get an Elite runner so That's a + Fields. Let's look at Makeup, 😅 Fields character vs Caleb's. How many Playoff games did Caleb make In 4years? 0? When you really break it down, Fields is the better bet. 💯 His deep accuracy is that of Josh Allen or Maholmes. His running game is that of Lamar and Vick. He's 6-4 and built. He redeveloped his arm slot in a year!!! When JF went to read left, nothing was open. That's how i know these guys don't watch film 💯💯💯. So JF would read 1-2 DJ then Kmet. By the time he came back across to read the left side either the middle of the pocket had collapsed or when he got to the left side Nobody, Nobody was even near open. It was bad. Mooney needs Nagy 💯 Needs to be schemed open. KC whole Mid Range game is schemed up cause like JF or Josh Allen, Maholmes isn't a good Mid Range passer like a Brady or Peyton.
The bears are in a great position Yates is talking about salvage what you can why salvage when you can address multiple positions by keeping what you have Justin has improved and if you keep putting talent around him the Bears will improve.
@The_AdventurousRealtor That’s just a lie. Mitch was a better qb than fields. And Mitch didn’t have the type of pass catchers fields had. He had an overrated low effort Allen Robinson.
@@JJ-zr6fu Based on your extensive research?! Mitch had a top 11 O-line and the best Defense in the league. JF1 had the WORST O-line in 2022 and 29th-24th in 2023. JF1 had the worst Defense in 2022 and finally made progress once we acquired Sweat. Do some research before throwing out words with no backing. I'd love to see what Mitch would do behind that debacle
No brainer draft the QB at 1 and build your team at 9. You get to reset the QB salary for another 4 years and build your team over the next four years.
Trade or do not trade Fields should not be the question. Sign Wilson for Bears starting QB. and start him. Last year was ok for him on that team with that coach. (When did Payton do something that earned him "Great"?). Then draft Williams using the first pick in this year's draft. Trade Williams to any of the other QB needy teams, Giants, Raiders, how about Tampa Bay, reap the haul. Set up and lockin the deal before the draft. At least trade Williams for the 2024 first round, 2025 first round and anything else you can get, think Watson and Cleveland/Houston. Use the traded pick for 2024 draft, first round pick, for one of the many talented WOs or Penix. Now trade Fields if possible, if not, then do what should have been done when Fields was drafted, sit him behind Wilson. Same thing if they get lucky enough to draft Penix, sit them. If Mahomes , Love, Rodgers could do it I think most rookie QBs should follow suit. SIT THEM! This makes the Bears Future look bright, maybe Chicago will let them play in Soldier's Field. Rob Brown
If I was the Bears an no one wants to give us what we think ee should get for Fields hold him, draft Caleb, and trade him on down the line. Teams will want him
Well i think BEARS are in position to build up their team in this Draft bc there is so much talent. If im them, honestly, i trade #1 pick, Caleb sent up red flags this past year, not just his play but his sensitivity. If he that sensitive in College where he is loved 80% of the time, how he gonna like it when he plays bad and media and fans go against him??? #1 pick to WASH for #2 pick, 2024 2nd round pick, and 2025 1st round pick. #2 pick to ATL for #8 pick, 2024 2nd round pick, 2025 1st and 2nd round picks, 2026 2nd round pick. So in the 2024 DRAFT, the BEARS would have picks 8, 9, 36, 43. will have 3 1st & 2nd round picks in 2025 and then if really wanted to, use the 2025 1st round picks to gain more picks or later 1st round picks in 2024. like Atlanta should be a little better with a new QB, so can trade their 2025 1st round pick to ARZ for their #35, #105, and #137 picks. like i said, there is a lot of talent in this draft. more picks, the merrier, and could find a lot of high value players in later rounds.
Bears should keep Fields, trade #1 pick for a haul. Build up the team as much as possible. And if don't work out with Fields then position yourself to draft Arch Manning. Arch throwing to Harrison Jr and Moore could be crazy.
Arch Manning has thrown 5 passes. If he ends up being awesome, the bears are not going to be in posistion to draft 1st overall and trading up to get there is going to cost the same as what they got for trading this 1st and that's assuming whoever has that pick would even trade it. This is such a dumb plan that I see consistently regurgitated by JF cultists.
If the Bears can get #43 for Justin Fields, you trade him, and hope Troy Foutana drops to you. If not you pick Barton. If you can't get a 2nd for Justin Fields, the huge trade package for Caleb might be worth it. If we can't get the Oline figured out, no qb will succeed. I would love a trade back. I would also like Caleb, but the rest of our picks should be offensive linemen. I want people saying they can't judge how good Caleb is because "he has so much time to hang onto the ball anyone could succeed like with Dak in his 2nd and 3rd year."
You don't make a franchise altering decision based on whether or not you can get a 2nd for JF. The bears need to address center, other than that, their oline is probably fine. Fields made them look worse than they are.
I would trade down a few slots and then spend both of my top 10 picks on Joe Alt and Jackson Powers-Johnson. The Bears can either address QB on day 2 or simply punt on the QB all together this year, because they trade gives you all those future picks.
To me when you have 2 choices that are this close, the tipping point is a QB on a rookie contract for 4 years. Trade Fields and get what you can. You still have the 9th pick which will get you a starter that is possibly best at his position.
Caleb 💯! I’m a Lions fan and as much as I would love them to keep Fields (he has won against the Lions too) Caleb saves the team MILLIONS in cap space. They have the #9 pick overall which may allow them a top WR or Joe Alt (OT). You get something for Fields from somebody. BUILD A TEAM WORTHY OF MORDOR! I just looked at Fields 3 year stats…… nothing special there. He’s fast with his legs and doesn’t have anybody to throw too…🤔.. it is a tough situation Go Caleb.
Just starting this, as a life long Chargers fan I'm hoping Mel lets up on Brock Bowers. I've been waiting for a dominant RT/ bookend OT's since 2007. Since Jeremy Clary started opposite Marcus McNeil. The best OT's always go too high in the 1st round for the mid-Chargers to ever have a shot at one. They had to settle for DJ Fluker instead of Lane Johnson or Eric Fisher. They finally have a puck high enough now. RaShawn had a down year- he can really use a bookend so he doesn't always have to play strictly on an island without chips from RB's or TE's. It's not the pressing need in 2024, but the opportunity to shore up the premium RT position for the next decade is too valuable to pass up because of the impact it has on the offense and because of how difficult it is to secure that position. Joe Alt at 5 or trade down for Taliese Fuaga. Fuaga can also play RG if Harbaugh feels good about Pipkins at RT in 2024.
I'm not sure any TE is ever worth a top 10 pick. Just based off how much money is spent on TE in comparison to other positions, shows how much more valuable other positions are.
@@ogbootysnatcher1193 Yeah. . . KC couldn't score a TD in the Superbowl when they got blown out by Tom Brady's Bucs after Fisher got hurt in the AFC Championship. He was good enough to get them there. Good enough to winna SB a few years before that. He was good enough for Mahomes to throw for 50 TD's the season's before, too. Alex Smith always had time. The whole "Fisher sucks" narrative stared because he was the #1 overall selection amd he was always measured by that. But he was a heck of an Offensive Tackle.
I agree that Keon's 40 is important but I want to also point out how dumb that is when teams shift people a whole round because of the combine. There are too many examples of that being the wrong move. We constantly have all pro players who went in a lower round because of a workout or one specific time. Teams that make a habit out of living by those type of analytics almost always overthink their evaluations.
Its a Very simple decision.. JF has made incredible plays IN the NFL not CW , he’s bigger stronger, faster and has a great arm that needs more polish but his delivery has improved and will continue to do so with more weapons and better protection..plus better play calling from a more expierienced OC who has transformed lesser qbs..this is ubut
I’d trade the pick and fields lol, get the qb from lsu and end up with 2nd overall pic 9th pick, 3 second round picks and 2 4ths plus a 1 and a 3 for next year build the whole team from 2 players
I do not think the Bears are trading the # 1 pick. My prediction is Caleb Williams to the Bears. I think the Steelers should trade their 1st round pick for Justin Fields. This would be the best for both franchises. Bears send Fields to AFC and get another 1st round pick, and that gives them 3 this year. This gives the Steelers their QB. I have been saying this since November, and the odds are good that I am right.
The "Best" QB option for the BEARS is the one that plays along side a more competitive ALL-22 team. Continue to BUILD around JF1! It's obvious - he's a stronger, faster, tougher, equally accurate, more humble and more "Pro-Ready" version of Caleb Williams! The only plausible argument for drafting a new QB this year is to reset how much money the Bears have to pay. If the Bears do this, everyone must RESET their expectations for playoff football in January 2025.
Gotta be honest, if you dont know if a guy is fast enough after he plays 30 games and you think you need the combine to find out, he isn't fast enough.
It's interesting, I rarely hear anyone talk about how mediocre Williams was against good competition. He put up gaudy numbers against USC's non conference schedule early in the season, but really flattened out after that. That doesn't really mean he can't be great, but I can see why it's not the slam dunk that some people in the media seem to think he is.
His OLine was atrocious that being said I don’t think he’s generational just like I didn’t think that with Lawrence. The only prospect I loved was Burrow. He legit looked like an NFL pro playing against kids and he proved it in the NFL. Lawrence has disappointed so far
@@nicyee3701 Maye is gone 2nd overall and Daniels had one solid year. After the combine he will drop in the draft. Pats will be going into the season with Jones as the best QB... Fields and the 9 pick makes total sense.

Am I the only one not sold on Caleb, not saying he is going to be a bust, but there is alot of Hype. He may be a better option over Fields , but I'm not sure.
ARE YOU SOLD ON FIELDS?

They aren't taking MHJ @ 2. The value they could get from the QB needy teams is too high to justify that.
@@TheMattTrakker if they stick with Fields and trade the #1 pick to Washington why wouldn't they pick MHJ #2?

Play-calling matters. & so does support from your coaches. Tell me, anyone, how often would Joe Burrow have to stare at instead of pass to open receivers before they'd take him into the blue tent? 3 Max? Yet not only were the Bears not concerned when he started doing this, they *weren't surprised.* Matt Eberflus the HC waved away reporter's questions about this.
How
tf could
he
have been *_prepared_* for Fields to *do* that in advance?
It's not only complicated because so many options but also now a lot of pressure on management to get this right 🤔
If Caleb and JF1 are that close there is no way you can pass on Caleb, because no GM risks their job on a guy they didn’t draft!
lol fields 5th year is in May , there’s zero percent chance he’s on the team April 1
No way
One thing about the DT convo that you're not factoring in is the fact that most NFL teams have moved to a platoon mentality like most colleges have.
There only upwards? Um he can easily go out and have a horrible year degress
You're just delusional.
If the bears want to trade they should do it with the commanders and draft Marvin Harrison Jr that would dang near make them a top team in the Nfc in my opinion
WR M. Harrison - Ohio St DE D. Robinson- Missouri OC J.P.Johnson- Oregon OG/OT P.Paul- Houston
Edge Chris Barswell- Alabama WR Brian Thomas- LS U OG Z..Zinter- Michigan RB A.Estine N.

Watch how twitchy Yates gets whenever Mel even mentions a scenario of Bears keeping JF 😂
Based on Mels Walsh description its fields we saw some greatness in his skill set potentially best runner ever so keep him.
Keep Justin, selct Marvin Hsrrison at 2 or 3, draft Verse at 9 and the fsu rb and a lineman in the 2nd from the trade down assets
I have a feeling after the interviews Drake Maye will be the top prospect.
0 scouting reports would agree with your baseless conclusion.
The bears are in a great position Yates is talking about salvage what you can why salvage when you can address multiple positions by keeping what you have Justin has improved and if you keep putting talent around him the Bears will improve.
NO TF HE HASNT IMPROVED DUDE IS NOT GOOD
@@Icebgriz He has improved year over year if you look at the number and the progression. He's the best QB the Bears have had for years
@@Keithjhall MAN BEAT IT HE CAN'T EVEN THROW TOUCHDOWNS
What happened to Todd McShay? Enjoyed his perspective
So in the 2024 DRAFT, the BEARS would have picks 8, 9, 36, 43.
will have 3 1st & 2nd round picks in 2025
and then if really wanted to, use the 2025 1st round picks to gain more picks or later 1st round picks in 2024.
like Atlanta should be a little better with a new QB, so can trade their 2025 1st round pick to ARZ for their #35, #105, and #137 picks. like i said, there is a lot of talent in this draft. more picks, the merrier, and could find a lot of high value players in later rounds.
PLEASE 🙏🏽 KEEP JF1! CHICAGO BEARS 🐻! We love him and we will shine ✨ this season!!!!
I would trade down a few slots and then spend both of my top 10 picks on Joe Alt and Jackson Powers-Johnson. The Bears can either address QB on day 2 or simply punt on the QB all together this year, because they trade gives you all those future picks.
No point Justin will make them look significantly worse
JPJ is not a top 10 pick. Your plan is a fantastic way for a GM to get fired.
JPJ looks like a future All Pro to me. But hey, as a Lions fan i HOPE Chicago takes Caleb Williams and then some pass catcher at #9.
To me when you have 2 choices that are this close, the tipping point is a QB on a rookie contract for 4 years. Trade Fields and get what you can. You still have the 9th pick which will get you a starter that is possibly best at his position.
trade#1, keep Fields, get MHJ and build team will get far more wins than Caleb
He’s fast with his legs and doesn’t have anybody to throw too…🤔.. it is a tough situation
Go Caleb.
Falcons should give the next 3 yrs 1sts and ✌🏾 seconds along with a player to get Caleb Williams. He’s polarizing and fits the City of Atlanta
If Caleb Williams is the next Matt Ryan that turns out to be a great trade for the Falcons.
Eric fisher was trash
In two years fields has 8 wins
What if the Washington trades pick 9 for Justin fields and picks Marvin Harrison jr at 2
Washington doesn't have pick 9
I’d trade the pick and fields lol, get the qb from lsu and end up with 2nd overall pic 9th pick, 3 second round picks and 2 4ths plus a 1 and a 3 for next year build the whole team from 2 players
So we are supposed to throw out Daniel’s 23 and only focus on 22 season for all 3 quarterbacks?
You are really bad at listening
I don't understand why any one thinks Caleb Williams is built to play in Chicago. Chicago better start constructing a dome now.
Keep Fields, get a high draft cap to beef up our team, and draft MHJ! The bears would be better off, in my opinion.
The shocker will be JETS--VIKINGS--BRONCOS 3 team trade w/Wilson to BEARS & picks going up then down. CALEB would end up going to JETS.😮
my mock trade - bears trade fields, #9, and a future 2nd round pick to the pats in exchange for #3.
POLES WANT DO IT
The "Best" QB option for the BEARS is the one that plays along side a more competitive ALL-22 team.
I would have much rather seen a Raiders package for the No. 1 pick, not for Fields!!!
Why is no one talking about Caleb's fumbles?
Gotta be honest, if you dont know if a guy is fast enough after he plays 30 games and you think you need the combine to find out, he isn't fast enough.
Bears fans and the world are on 2 different mind sets 🐻⬇️
Cause it’s only a slam dunk to ppl who don’t know how to properly evaluate talent
IMO, Bears need to package Fields and the 9 pick to NE for the 3 pick and take MHJ.
The Pats are better off with Maye or Daniel’s. No point to trade for fields if you have no weapons. He can’t carry a team on his back.
@@nicyee3701 Maye is gone 2nd overall and Daniels had one solid year. After the combine he will drop in the draft. Pats will be going into the season with Jones as the best QB... Fields and the 9 pick makes total sense.
It's going to cost more than that to move from 9 > 3. Way more.
