I’m not surprised that the Royal Swedish Guards Band would play this! From what I understand, when King Carl XVI Gustafson married Sylvia Sommerlath in 1976,ABBA played “Dancing Queen” @ the reception! This was when ABBA’s popularity was @ its height! ABBA & their music have done much to promote Sweden 🇸🇪 for years!P.S. U2 played “Dancing Queen” on their 1992 ZooTV tour! When they came to Stockholm & played it, the Swedish U2 fans thought it was a great thrill 4 them! As ABBA would say, MAMMA MIA!👍👍Thank you for the music!!!
Great Grandma and Grandma came to the USA from Sweden, I'm the only the 2nd generation. My Aunt did a family tree years ago and apparently what used to be the town they came from is now a county. Then again that was over 100 years ago. Varmland. My niece updated all of the family history and won't share it with anyone. Even went to Sweden with her architect class and met a cousin whom she didn't share any mailing info. Too bad,it would have been interesting to write and let them know about the relatives here. And our Mom is the last 1st generation. She'll be 93 this October
I don’t know WHY I started balling crying. What a most beautiful sentiment. And the most important detail to get right, they aced: The correct groove and cadence. It’s as if the guys from ABBA came in and handed over all their secrets of playing it live correctly.
Lovely Christmas gift fans, keep calm & love Sweden wishing you everybody a great Happy New Year full of music happenings dating your new cyber supporters & paaaarty, the music is just puuuurrfect
Very good decision fans, celebrating Christmas in Sweden, those who fear no further contagion of being Covid immune, are welcomed to enjoy the Rennaissance redemption spirit this year, it's the Jesus Christ birthday event, it must be the biggest paaaarty of all times fans, this is a suuuuper puuuurrfect point for a start, big big like
The sound quality of this video is poor to the extent that I had great difficulty believing it was Dancing Queen!!!! As an ABBA lover I am of the opinion that this did NOT give any respect to ABBA. Also the Swedish Drill precision was good, but their Marching style and turns made it a more like a Sunday stroll in the country. I appreciate this is the Swedish way of Marching but way too casual for me
I, too, am an ABBA lover, and I feel the complete opposite. It was an excellent rendition. Keep in mind this was recorded on either a cell phone or inexpensive camcorder with only an onboard microphone; a professional setup would have had at the very least a more directional and sensitive mic, and possibly multiple microphones around the perimeter and a sound mixer.
Royal guard units are more ceremonial, but don’t assume they’re not trained. Besides, inside there would be guards that could actually kill you with a pen, I’m sure of it.
Great. I have never seen Queen Silvia dancing, but maybe she does it privately. I love Sweden, our beloved neighbour. Greetings from Finland
She just dance 2 days ago in Thailand you can search on TH-cam for Thailand charity Dancing queen
Sweden Knows what it has with ABBA. They can be Proud of their Band.

God bless us very nice songs and enjoy watching this video. Thank you so much po. Regards to all of you there in your country. Thanks
Love it! I loved the music of ABBA and still think they were the best musical group of the 80's.
Abba was in the 1970s.
Yes, you are correct 1972 - 1982.@@Manolo0528

This is the best rendition of Dancing Qeen by a band that I've seen. ABBA is one of my favorite artists of the 80s.❤🎶🎶🎶
Not the '70s ?

Magnificent! I wish something like this would have been done for Queen Elizabeth'S royal Guards at her recent jubilee in the UK.
Vida longa para a rainha , e DEUS sempre abençoe ! !
This was lots of fun to watch
Absolutely brilliant
Muy originales y precisos, me encantó. Gracias por compartirlo. 👏👍😊🤗🇺🇾

¡Wow Es precioso!
1:46 Every band member about-faces and marches away to leave. As if to say: “Oh! It’s BEEN brr-oughten!” (Mic Drop!).
It was. It really was. 🤗
Si ça c'est pas la consécration !!!! 👍💪❤️
This should be longer. Like way longer tbh.
Fun fun!!
Ironically it's incredibly difficult to actually dance to this. Beyond swaying
Mágico
😍😍CAN'T WAIT TO SEE This.
Hey Svenska! From Russia with Love!
I love it!!
Extraordinario 👏👏👏
Waiting for Anni-Frid's coronation as the next Queen of Sweden! YYYEEEEEETTTTT
Unfortunately she was born in Norway so that might put her out of contention!
@@peteb1206 she could be Queen consort, just like Her Majesty Queen Silvia is
haha 😆
The only things left are a outfit from H&M + the famous IKEA-bags and a minecraft avatar and then you’ll have all of Sweden in one video.
And King Charlie singing…
Well if all world conflicts could just be resolved by the military bands having a play off wouldn’t that be sweet?
wow! smashing!
Det var riktigt bra !
😃
skön 😍
Impressive and lovely, short: swedish

I mean, if it was difficult for you to believe it was dancing queen you should probably get hearing aid

A royal guard shouldn't be for entertaining tourists like this. It should remain operative. Another dumb thing to come out of Sweden
There are better equipped services to deal with that ;-)
And after all, it's called the "Royal Swedish Army Band (Arméns musikkår)" for a reason...
What else should it be for? Royalty is mockery, might as well have some fun with it.

You are a miserable sod! Get a life!
