It is possible to obtain a Schengen Visa for the unemployed but it may be a little harder. The first time I applied for a Schengen Visa I was employed but I actually got denied! The second time I was unemployed but my Schengen Visa was approved so having a job does not guarantee approval!
SCHENGEN VISA TIPS FOR THE UNEMPLOYED
Anybody can apply for a Schengen Visa whether employed or unemployed.
You can apply for Schengen Visa as a tourist visiting any Schengen country, or you want to meet any relative or friend residing there or studying in any Schengen country.
A very strong intent to return to your home country (this is probably the most important since your current employment status might be viewed as a potential "immigrant" crisis)
Rootedness is one of the major factors under consideration for your Schengen visa application. Rootedness refers to the strength of your ties to your home country, basically, the reason you are going back to your country after the trip.
Properties owned ( land under your name, business, apartments for rent, condo under your name, car)
Savings
evidence of dependent-- you may have dependents who you are taking care of. These dependents can be your parents, especially if they already old or need special care, and/or your children.
recently graduated, you can submit evidence of your graduation like your diploma.
Aside from the rootedness aspect, another major challenge in your application would be your financial capacity.
*Savings: You may have some savings from previous employment or support from your parents or spouse. No matter how small, it counts to present your savings during your visa application.
Financial support from your trip sponsor abroad: You could be traveling to Europe because your spouse or your boyfriend or girlfriend invited you to visit them and they will be paying for your travel expenses.
*Another possibility here is that your spouse or boyfriend/girlfriend is working in a non-Schengen member state but sends you regular financial support and will pay for your travel expenses. Like in the first scenario, be sure to present financial documents from your sponsor on their capacity to support you for this trip. You can also present bank statements to show the regular, financial support that you receive from them. Don’t forget the letter of financial guarantee from your sponsor!

I would like to emphasize that the round trip ticket is not needed when you apply for your visa. Only when your visa is approved you book your flight. To pass immigration on arrival you have to show your return ticket.

There they explicitly emphasize that you don't need booked tickets when you apply for your visa, contrary to what some agents make you believe. The reason is obvious. What would you be with tickets when your visa is denied.
@@hansreynders6853 dutch do things differently. It's needed to assist first timers get it right from the start. That way u don't get a shock at immigration when u arrive. U will be shocked how many people tell immigration "I didn't know".

If they have good strong ties and other supporting documents- there is always a chance to get a visa.

Hi Maam, would it matter if I got denied the US Tourist Visa application? Do I need to disclose that in the first place?
A little background: It was just a one try, and knowing USA is the strictest country when it comes to Visa application. Possible reason of denial is strong ties (which wasn’t asked during the interview), I wasn’t given the chance to justify that I would be returning to my home country. I am glad that we can state everything through cover letter for schengen visa application.

@@icedkaffe hello, I was able to get my visa, and I'm here now in their country. Even got it in just three days 😅 just make sure that you have bank certificate from your sponsor, bank statements for the last six months, sponsorship letter or affidavit of support (depending on the country your going, sponsor mo need kumuha and have it notarised and Apostilled from the country asan siya), IDs ng sponsor mo. And I suggest just be honest with your cover letter na issubmit mo sa embassy upon visa application, indicate mo na you'll really just be visiting and no plans of working in the destination country, and sure na babalik ka sa pinas. Need mo rin mág submit ng bank certificate (regardless magkano laman ng acct mo, kasi sa financial capability ng sponsor mo sila magbabase, pero mas maganda syempre kung may ipon ka kahit pano) and need din the 6months bank statements mo.

Ang sabi naman ng embassy, the amount on your bank acct shouldn't matter if youre applying through sponsorship since mas magffocus sila sa financial capability ng sponsor mo, basta kumpleto and sufficient your docs na ipprovide ni sponsor mo. If parents mo sponsor mo, mas okay yan I believe.

I hope you can help me ma'am joy, what if I'm unemployed then I don't have any of those strong ties to prove because I don't own land or own business and I don't have children, but I have illness and I visited hospital every once a month, but when my medical results are good my doctor said she will advice me to visit hospital one day in 3 months or one day in 6 months it depends po yan sa mga results ng laboratory ko. if you have resident ID dyan sa hong kong, then you can apply there... but if wala, you would need to return to the philippines para dun mag apply.

You need document to show strong ties kasi sa Philippines, and a upcoming wedding or your sibling graduation is not enough.. Kasi kung iisip, pwede naman hindi balikan mga yun... sobrang strict ng Germany embassy and laging reason ng denial ng applicant is not having documents to show will of return.. kahit mga employed at may mga pera naman basta wala nyan rootedness/strong ties na deDENIED...

Oo sponsor lang meron ako.. i had work before last june but my contract was ended..
Now, nagdadalawang isip na ako kung ipapatuloy ko pa ba. Strict talaga ang Germany kasi last applied ko ng Aupair visa na denied ako. I know makikita nila sa record nila na may application ako before.

For the requirement you would need to pass:
*Application form

From your Sponsor you would need:
*Sponsorship letter with signature
*Scanned copy of the Passport.
*Resident ID copy ( if his from the Schengen area)
**Proof of financial funds,6 months bank statements and work contract, and last 3 months payslips.
-Recent proof of income of the sponsor
*Proof of home / flat ownership or rental contract that shows the address. (if sa place nya ikaw mag stay)
* Original Affidavit of Support, legalized by their municipality where the sponsor is registered.
*Formal Obligation *In case of non-formalized relationship with your sponsor like (boyfriend/girlfriend/fiancé(e) - a photocopy of the biodata page of the passport and travel history of the sponsor (entry stamps).

@@belleph549 almost similar naman po mga requirement.. may mga konting difference so better na icheck mo po yung Portugal embassy website dyan sa morocco where you will be applying and check mo yung requirement checklist.
also, check mo if may embassy dyan sa morocoo ang portugal dun ka mag apply.. ung una ko sinabi is for philippines, na confuse ako, akala ko sa pinas ka mag apply.... but then again, you can only apply dyan sa morocco if resident ka na dyan, if not, you need to apply sa pinas.
