I came across this "cosmic ray" short film through the legendary film book by Amos Vogel called "Film as a subversive art" which is the main source for the most important avantgarde and experimental film making you can ever imagine. I got this cinematic "bible" on the same day with the other book "midnight cinema" by Josef Hoberman and his co-writer Jonathan Rosenbaum. I'm glad to have encountered these artistic fountains. ❤️

No, Myron. When Michele Silva showed 3-screen Ray at the Gene Siskel Film Center about 8 years ago, she asked them not to list it in the program notes or announce it publicly. That way Disney or Charles's estate couldn't sue the Bruce Conner estate (Michele Silva). Silva and the estate pulled all digital copies of Conner's work from youtube and other streaming sites just days after his death. They also sent a cease and desist order to Roger Beebe to pull his film TBTX DANCE from (self) distribution because it uses laser printed images of Toni Basil from Connor's BREAKAWAY. Of course, this was all done by Silva and the estate AFTER Conner's death. Rules only apply in one direction for Silva and the estate, apparently.
I know I'll get a lot of flak but outside of the song and editing in the film, Cosmic Ray is my least favorite BC film (mostly the use of Mickey Mouse as a obvious phallic symbol being my pet peeve even as a Disney fan).
