- He was the first African American nominated for vice president of the United States. He escaped enslavement to become one of America's most prominent abolitionists, an advisor to Lincoln... and a Republican statesman.
This is the story of Frederick Douglass.
Frederick Douglass Family Initiatives (FDFI) is an Abolitionist and AntiRacist non-profit organization founded by direct descendants of Frederick Douglass and Booker T. Washington. Headquartered in Rochester, NY, FDFI is focused on the struggle for racial equity and an end to human exploitation.

Like myself Frederick's parents didn't look the same I call myself both Black and Middle Eastern. It wasn't easy growing up trying to fit in with both Black and Arab people. What gave me strength was believing in myself even when people doubted me
I have such respect and affection and admiration for a special strong intellectual person with honesty with truth ❤
He was born into Slavery but escaped and he taught himself to read and write.

Yes this brute America is completely biased and brainwashed by the Democrat institutions of today so sad but this is the battle we fight the information battle the rewriting of history by the democrat party currently at work today
Hands down the best video for Intro to Douglass for my sophomores. There is so much info packed into this 8 minutes, I make a group competition out of students finding the information that is most impressive and significant about Douglass (I am the judge of which answers qualify as "significant" after students tell me why their chosen fact makes him such an impressive person). :-)
