As cool as that 357 is going to be in the car it would be killer in one of those small speedboats from the 70’s rippin across a smooth as glass lake early in the morning turning 8 grand. Especially one of the mountain lakes here where it would echo for miles.
I have a 17 ft 1971 Mantra jet boat tucked away. Uses big block Chevys tho. Building a twin turbo unit for it now. Had a rowdy tunnelram 496 in it last time it ran, loud as fuckin hell. Open big ass headers. Lot of fun. 20 gallons of fuel don't last long in that fucker tho. Pretty much a drag boat. Has 1 seat. It'll fuck your nerves up. Previous owners wife died in it. Fell out while hauling serious ass, broke her neck and she drowned. That was back around 1980. Was parked till the old guy died around 2000, I bought it from the son. Old dude never drove it again after the accident. Believe he was shit faced. Crazy old biker. He wouldn't sell it for nothing, just let it sit for 20yrs. He was eat up with guilt. Definitely a dangerous boat. Bad old motherfucker tho.
I always liked those 80s NASCAR looking bubble topped air cleaners. They used that stuff beacuse it worked. Those valve covers are pretty nice too. If your neighbors, town or whatever wouldn't throw a fit, a little thin metal car port type deal might be nice to keep the weather off your car so you can do some wrenching. Those deal used to be pretty cheap, not sure what they go for these days...probably way too much just like every other damned thing.
Good looking and sounding mill. Cant wait to here what it runs in your car! Just a quick question is there an assembly lube you would recommend for a new solid flat tappet cam?
@@thereluctantgearhead4544 Thanks man, I was thinking of putting air to each hole and swapping springs out after or putting a soft rope down each plug hole kind of a pain in the ass. I will grab some isky lube honestly I have always just used blue stp and Vaseline it's a hack but always seems to do the trick. Thanks Sam.
Thanks man. Both intakes you mentioned would make similar power. One engine might prefer one version, while another engine might like the other. Both killer intakes tho.
Good looking motor and sounds good 🏁🏁🏁
Thanks man
She sounds incredible Sam!💪💪💪💪💪💪

Wow! Kinda like the boat version of Christine.
Motivation to get my 355 fire up very soon.
No better time than the present. It's all we really have. Older ya get, the faster time goes by. 30 yrs ago feels like 10 yrs ago.
Badass 101
It should haul serious ass in a 2600lb G-body. 4-56 gear and 4500-5000 stall.

@@hendo337 would definitely help.
Ended up buying a vintage black anodized Moroso air cleaner for it. Still in the mail. It's from the mid 90s.
I've got a thing for vintage Moroso goodies. Big ass collection of it. One of my favorite brands. Takes me back to the 70s/80s.

@@wildrosegarage4208 Thanks man. Far as lube goes, many will do, but ISKY REV LUBE is good shit.
@@wildrosegarage4208 Id break it in with old wore out stock valve springs. Then swap in the good ones.

Is the distributor locked out. She's smooth!
Yep, 34 degrees locked out.
What is your opinion and differences o your Brodix and the Holley 300-110? Your engine sounds well tuned.

Do you have room to build on to make space.
I wish. We are looking for another house now with a big ass building or garage. Definitely need some room.
Would it be nice if you sell it
Pretty expensive mother fucker really. Shit adds up quick. Especially these days. Everything cost double.
I built them for a living for many years. Just retired from that shit about 5yrs ago. Finally had enough. This shit will consume your life.
