Such gorgeous cards! I started with the Gemini foil machine because I didn’t have a Platinum die cutter. But I got so frustrated with terrible foiling results that I finally broke down and got a Platinum 6 and Spellbinders foil machine last year. Now I am in love with foiling.

I have the Gemini Hot Foil Plate. When you are done foiling --pull the plate out and put it under you Gemini Jr --and it will stay flat! Thanks for the awesome videos!

Laura, somehow I missed this video. I have this bird set now and love it beyond reason. As far as the Gemini machine warping, I have heard several people say that. I hear it's like a top plate and consider it a consumable. However it's 20$ Wrong. I have been told they have a new machine in the works and I'm sure it will eliminate that problem. I make production cards for Cancer patients, so I knew that wasn't for me. I have the full size Gemini, btw. I got a generic die cutting machine so I could use the spellbinders foil machine. Huge fan of pink fresh.
Long story but I also had the gemini foil machine and now use the glimmer. my problem with the gemini was the die cut machine. my problem with the glimmer is that I cannot pull the platform off the machine with normal pressure. I am hoping it loosens up soon. Love these dreamy cards!
I also have the Gemini foil and it also warped after I used it twice. I nearly had a heart attack I thought I destroyed my machine and it was brand new. I googled and it happens to others too. Not thrilled with it to be honest. It also sometimes cuts into the cardstock. It’s definitely a design issue.
I did some research ... The foil you use make a difference. Gemini foil "foils" at a much lower temp, and Spellbinders Foil needs more heat, sometimes a lot more depending on the color. In order to get the Spellbinders foil to work on a Gemini Foil Press, you increase the heat and the time. Prolonged use of Foil Press at high temp causes warping. If you use Gemini foils, you probably won't have any warping as you don't need to increase the heat above 1/Low.

I have the Gemini and mine is warped too. I think it warped after my first use. I thought it was me too. 😂🤣

I set my machine on my platform after i'm done with it overnight and voila! flat platform!
I had a Gemini used it 40 times and it died. Needless to say I was not pleased. I now have spellbinders glimmer and it is the cats meow.
