I’m taking Microbiology this fall and I’m preparing myself for it. This is very helpful in getting a head start in this world of microorganisms. I work full time as a nurse and I’m trying to advance my degree. Not a lot of time and very busy. I just want to say thank you and to please keep making more videos like this. I appreciate this well thought out and well explained video especially for a non traditional student like me.
I'm doing Registered nursing and I take a course unit on microbiology as part of BIOCHEMICAL SCIENCE it has advance my knowledge I just wanna to say keep on making other videos they're very important Thanks alot and may you be bless
I am taking microbiology at the moment for nursing school. I understand this class can be difficult. Glad I found your channel. Instantly subscribed. Thanks Dr. Wells
This was a fun video to watch and brought back many great memories. I obtained my medical microbiology degree just over 40 years ago. There have been many new advances in the field since I graduated. For any student pursuing a microbiology degree, just remember that several chemistry courses are a requirement. I took 3.5 years of chemistry for graduation. I ended up with a minor in chemistry and if I would have pursued a few extra classes I would have had a double major. Best wishes & good luck to all the students!
I´m introducing myself in the microbiology because i found out that this is what i wanna study, and this is just a blessing. thanks yo so much professor
@Dr. Wells Thank you so much for this! I am taking microbiology right now, my professor doesn't have any video for lectures. We basically are on our own, I felt so lost until I saw this video! I have my first exam for micro Saturday morning, so I feel a little better now that I found this video! Please, please make more.
This was so much easier to understand than my professor's chalkboard notes. I had to rewind and use the close caption to take additional notes but love it.
Thanks for the video Doctor. I'm getting into microscopy and need to relearn (had some community college in the late 80s) some microbiology & a bit more on botany, bugs (to cover all the insect like critters). The worst thing about learning on your own is the gaps in knowledge, but the good thing is you can switch to other fields. Thankfully people like you are helping people like me be able to get evidence based science classes/lectures. EDIT: just peeked at some of the other lab and bio stuff you have have. I'm sitting here drooling like Homer over a donut.
It’s a great lecture I found on TH-cam. I’m planing to take micro this summer 2022 I’m preparing myself, now I’m taking Chemistry and history study micro at same time.Thank you!!!!
Doc, you r the shizzzt. I'm starting Micro Bio in May, just took Chem 1033 and Lab for the first time in life, that was tough as a mother, but I knocked them out with A's. I need another two A's for Micro bio and lab. Hopefully this will give me a great head start, thankyou for dedicating the time to make this👍✌
yesterday was my first intro to microbio class and the textbook was so confusing to follow, thank god I found you to help me through the first few chapters
Omg thx so much i have been into microbiology just 5 minutes ago and now i wanna become a microbiologist and now im learning what i need to learn first about it✨ thank u for the information professor!!💕💖💗
Thank you so much😊 am currently taking a advanced certificate in food science. This video of yours is really helpful for me. The way you explain all this kinds and types of microorganisms is absolutely awsome. You and my professor are same level when it comes of teaching. 👏👏👏
This is the greatest thing ever! You are saving people that learn from listening the lecture. Most covid teachers just make you read the book without explaining anything. Is there any way I could save your slides?
I am done Saturday looks like I’m going to get a B I’m taking it and running this is a tough course it’s not like a&p at all.A&P there are models you can touch things and see what they look like your can touch parts of your own body to be familiar with the locations of things.I highly advise anyone considering micro take it alone it will take up huge amounts of your time
This was a great introductory lecture! Loved the history of microbiology. Just a small correction: Jenner initially inoculated cowpox into a boy named James Phipps, who was the son of his gardener, not his own son.
thanks so much Dr Julie I watch several videos but I couldn't understand but watch this one of yours once and understood everything thanks so so much and take us through more units please

Heads up for you new students: Learn the diseases, causative agents, signs of symptoms, treatments, transmission. Learn the bacterias: Escherichia coli, Mycobacterium. There's a lot to name. Anyway, you will be doing a lot of memorization in MicroBio.
32:27 Methane is CH4 not CH3 and NO is Nitric Oxide. You could place the state of matter as a subscript too. Please keep posting and I will keep reviewing for you. Thank you
