I haven't been posting as I know we're late on delivery, so my time is 100% focused on just getting this out right, and delivering on our promises to our supporters.
Thank you for helping me with the solution to the problem I had with the audio being very loud and the proximity of the microphone - and it did not cut off when the person was speaking. I recommend it. It works super well, it does what I want, it cuts the video when it detects the audio - I I would like an audio track to work for the 2 videos

@@TheOrsonLord exactly 2 cameras with their internal audio and a single external audio from a ZOOM H6N recording because you configure the recording to record a single audio track in mono and in that audio you have the guest and the interviewer, because the audio from the zoom h6n can replace it with the one from the camera and then synchronize and snap pod performs the task but it is a time-consuming process, but if snap pod allows me to use the external audio for the 2 cameras it will save me all that time, but I will do a test now
My son and I have a TH-cam hobby thing going on that we do together on weekends. We try to post one video a week, with each one taking around 10-15 hours to edit. He records the content and cuts it down to weave his on narrative/story, while I do all the voice editing and subtitles. He then adds some final fancy touches and we publish. While its a faceless gaming channel, i do think SnapPod could be very useful to us, especially since he loves to record gameplay content with a close set of friends. With a podcast, it's probably uncommon for two or more people to speak over the top of one another - but with all the crazy action going on inside a game - it's very common! My starting point with the audio edits is two separate voice tracks. I use the transcript tool to cut out almost all of individual silences (and stuff I don't want the audience to hear), for each track separately - while leaving the video intact as a single clip. I then go through and manually move the individual voice segments around (each being a string of sentences ending with an intentional pause) so there are no awkward gaps between the words spoken, no um's and ahs... and the segments across the two voice tracks are separated out as well as can be, and conservation between the various players fits together and flows naturally. This not only helps bring a mature, professional quality to the video, it also saves a lot of time when it comes to fixing up the auto-generated subtitles. I can also easily adjust the volume of each spoken segment, raising or lowering as needed. I have spent many a late friday or saturday night doing this I tell you... If SnapPod can help me save time, I will gladly buy it!
If there are sections with people playing together, we are adding an in/out point feature. Meaning you can run Snap Pod on those specific points to cut to a person's POV as they are speaking. (you could even record a wide angle shot in the game as there playing, so if they speak over each other it will cut to that point). In all honesty I'm not sure if that's what you're looking for, as sometimes those kinds of edit require more creative control the whole way through, rather than showing the person speaking. But if you're looking for a cut to POV as someone speaks, than yes, it can do that. I'm not exactly sure what the exact workflow would look like in your particular situation right now, but if anyone is unhappy with SnapPod. We're offering refunds up to 1 month.
I randomly will decide to look for AutoPod for Resolve, and I am so glad I did it at the right time to catch this. Forever licenses, while expensive upfront, are almost always worth it (you know, like Davinci Resolve). I will probably use this in combination with Recut to cut out where both speakers are not talking, and then use this for the camera switching.

Lil question about the most recent update for the beta version 19, they said on their post on LD: " ...editors can work directly transcribed audio to find speakers" this would mean that in the future this plugin would be able to work with one audio with both or all the participants and would make the switch of the camera? 🤔 I know it's not the first time I ask this question but with this new update do you see it possible?
Great question! This feature is awesome as it will allow people to use this tool who have a simple recording, (like zoom) to edit their multi-camera podcasts with a single line of audio. I would love to open this tool up to that huge pool of audience. We're going to look into this thoroughly after we get V1.0 out. The main question will be whether Resolve exposes this data through an API so we can use it. Plugin development isn't so much limited by what we can do, but what Black magic allows us to use. 🤞 they give us access.
I would suggest in the U/I the options to choose your videos you are planning to sync up that will then move them to a multi cam folder/timeline for you, and the ability to set a preset you like for someone who does the same setup and recording process each time. So basically, once it’s all set up, it can essentially take less than 5 clicks to complete a 3 person multi cam podcast. Also a check box in the U/I for an intro and for an outro, where all you have to do is add a transposition once’s it’s completed the import and cutdown. That alone can make an hour process less than 10 mins essentially. And for a regular podcast creator, you are talking the difference between burnout and more money. That would all bring the most value out of this I believe. Hopefully that helps orson.

It wouldn't work unfortunately, it needs seperate audio tracks to work. We will be investigating if Resolve's AI speaker detection will have API access, and if it does we'll develop it to support that which means it would work with 1 audio track. But we can't promise anything about that right now.

It won’t be able to do anything. Resolve does have an AI speaker detection in v19. So if our plugin can access that, we may be able to do it for 1 audio track. But can’t promise anything about that now 🫠

Would love to pre order... I have one specific use case I have that I'm wondering if is possible in the coming release or future. I don't edit podcasts but I edit multicam with a music session I do every month. Now not all the mics are isolated so sometimes you can hear multiple singers through different mics. However my pain is having to cut the 6 angles I create in post. I alway sync up all the video angles to a final mastered music file. I would love if this tool could cut my angles and since I know it may not auto detect the speaker per time, I would be more than happy If I could set it to make a cut after every 30 frames and it be randomised between all angles. Then I can come back in and swap the angles I prefer. Just the ability to kick start the process could be huge time saver for me. Any chance something like this is possible with the advanced feature you described?
Our plugin can work on videos other than just podcasts as long as two things happen: 1 - You have seperate audio and video tracks. 2 - You want to cut to a camera when the relevant audio track is louder. Hope this helps! any other questions, please do let me know!
Hey Orson...I have a question about SnapPod. I have the beta release. I have used it to edit one video with multiple camera angles and I got it to work, but the audio is all recorded on the wide angle camera. I'm attempting to edit a different video with the same set up, but it won't render a video. Does SnapPod only work when there are seperate audio tracks to match the seperate video tracks?

Could you submit an error report with a screenshot so I can see what's happening on your side. In regards to your question, there may be a workflow solution changing the attributes of the wide angle and associating it to the close ups. Will need a bit more context to know if this is the right answer :)

Thanks so much for supporting. Our timeline is 1-2 months after June 18th we’ll have the beta released (we’ve given ourselves some conservative time just in case) and then full product release 1 month after that. It should hopefully be quicker, but I want to be careful with my promises 🙂
In the demo you mention it will cut to who is talking - I assume this means multicam. But on your sales page, it mentions it may not be possible to do multicam. Which is it. This is a deal breaker for me if it doesn’t do multicam. I’m currently using the other one that’s premiere only but really would like to edit in davinci instead.
By default, it cuts the footage on a regular timeline as is. Multicam timeline workflow has been one of our highest priorities, We have multicam timelines supported and working for Mac users, but unfortunately, as Resolve stands now, it's impossible for us to get it to work on windows. As soon as it's possible, we'll get the MC timeline integrated for window users.
Hey Orson, is the Beta available for purchase and ready to use now? I am planning to edit a video podcast on mac. Three angles in total: A wide and 2 individual shots. The catch is that the wide angle will be using my dji mic system. So, it will have the "good" audio and the rest two angles will have camera audio. Will SnapPod work for that kind of a setup?
Hey Yash It may be troublesome to get a good cut if the main cameras don't have audio. It requires the mics to have close proximity to the guests, so the loudness differences can do the fine cutting. So usually either a Lav mic on the guest or a podcast mic. If you where to send me proxies of your video footage with un-altered audio. I could do some tests on my side to see if Snap Pod can handle your setup. (I love testing different people's podcasts, as it gives me great use cases to figure out further improvements). @@TheOrsonLord I am actually using a dji mic 2 system. Two transmitters and one receiver. I just found out I can record ON the transmitters in addition to the receiver. Meaning my wide will have a stereo mix in the receiver, and then my individual shot cameras will have audio from the dji mic transmitters. I will have to link the individual dji mic audio with individual shots manually so that SnapPod can edit based on audio. I think I have figured it out! Thank you for your help Orson. I will give SnapPod a try.
Hey @BinksTube, We've stated that we aim to release the plugin between the 18th of July and 18th of August. We have the plugin at a functioning state and it's packaged, but every time we are close to release, we notice a few more hiccups we need to iron out to get the beta to a state that's best for reviewing. We're working quite hard as we're aware how close we are and we hate leaving our supporters waiting.
Nice plugin, but unfortunately I see a problem for me here, I only have an audio track, due to the fact that I use a radio track, I think I couldn't work with that? With 2 cameras with the same audio.
Not in v1.0, but possibly in the future. we’re going to look at DaVinci 19 first, and make sure they don’t have any features to do that that could be integrated into the workflow. For pauses at least, it will 99% be added some point in the future if Resolve doesn’t do it. (But no promise on when).

@@bolelemax That would definitely work, especially since it uses such simple cuts, the XML importing really shouldn't have any issues. (also - can highly recommend Davinci Resolve, it's the best, totally unbiased opinion 🤣)
We haven't made a subscription options due to the majority of feedback from DaVinci users. We'll look into a subscription model later if the demand is high enough :)

We've got the Snap Pod fully working at this point, we're at the point of packaging it up so it's ready for the Beta. The biggest delay is working with apple so our plugin is verified with them so that it's an easy install. In other words, we should be good to go in a week or so 🤞

I thought that’s exactly what this was and your programming makes it cut to the person that’s talking so I don’t need to manually do it through multicam like I am now. Right now I record a podcast with 3 cameras. One on me. One on my guest. And another one that’s a wide shot with both of us. It takes me hours to edit each episode. Would this cut to me when it’s talking? Guest when he’s talking? And wife when we’re both talking? If so then I’ll go and signup now lol. I just want to make sure this works the way I hope it works. @@geroy01 Hey Gregory, so sorry about the confusion! I need to find a more clearer way to articulate this in my marketing materials. Snap Pod does edit podcasts automatically for Mac and Windows. The specific limitation I’m referring to is the TYPE of timelines it can automatically edit. Right now, Snap Pod works on windows and Mac with regular timelines (these regular timelines can have multiple cameras). And for just Mac, it will also work with Multicam timelines. I hear you! I wish it was different. Something else that may help - I have a "profit-talks" room in my discord which is free, it's all about helping editors charge more and make higher profits. It's already helped a few editors achieve much better results and I would love to see more questions in there. Edit - suggesting this as I would love people to be able to afford this without selling a kidney 🙂 It would be an absolute win if we can help more professional editors make a living they deserve for their talent!
Most of the competition will charge you WAY more for this. Right now his product is on a presale at $175... That is far more affordable than all the competitors I've seen. I've been using Autopod and they charge $300+ for a year. I am 100% grabbing SnapCamera on sale today because it'll save me loads in the future. I'd buy it if it was $250 too! Take advantage of the sale that is going on and it's just $75 more than your suggested price point! Orson obviously has already poured a lot of resources into this so I'm happy to support him!
People will spend $530 on average in subscriptions with competitors. So we’re making half as much with our price. Any lower than this just wouldn’t work. It sucks that it’s a price point that can be a barrier for some people 😕, but it was either this or a subscription price.
@ that’s true I’ve tried these before and still ended up having to check the cuts so it’s sorta didn’t save me time because they can make mistakes. So you have to watch it back to make sure but it is coo. My only problem with them is they seem to not know when to show a wide and they tend to stick to the other angles. I would like it even if no one is talking to sometimes know it should cut to the wide automatically.
@@weshootfilms Oh yeah, I totally get that. The truth is, no automation software can completely eliminate what you have to do as an editor (otherwise why would we exist 🤣🤷♂). Our plugin can only use the audio to inform it's own editing decisions. It's still best practice to check through everything for many reasons. I.e. guest picking their nose That's why I showed the "honest" comparison at the begining. While specific parts of the process are pretty much 50x quicker. When compared to the overall process, we've measured it takes off between 10-40% of time spent editing. We are implementing new tools to help increase the speed of where editors need to be involved where we can, i,e, we have a new feature coming soon which will create markers at "creative/ tough decision points on the timeline". That update is hopefully coming out next actually 🤞. Our mission with Snap Pod isn't to replace an editor, but eliminate as many of the tedious decisions as machinely possible. Once we've got a few more updates sorted, I will be bringing out some workflow videos to showcase it's power!

I use the transcript tool to cut out almost all of individual silences (and stuff I don't want the audience to hear), for each track separately - while leaving the video intact as a single clip. I then go through and manually move the individual voice segments around (each being a string of sentences ending with an intentional pause) so there are no awkward gaps between the words spoken, no um's and ahs... and the segments across the two voice tracks are separated out as well as can be, and conservation between the various players fits together and flows naturally. This not only helps bring a mature, professional quality to the video, it also saves a lot of time when it comes to fixing up the auto-generated subtitles. I can also easily adjust the volume of each spoken segment, raising or lowering as needed. I have spent many a late friday or saturday night doing this I tell you... If SnapPod can help me save time, I will gladly buy it!
If there are sections with people playing together, we are adding an in/out point feature. Meaning you can run Snap Pod on those specific points to cut to a person's POV as they are speaking. (you could even record a wide angle shot in the game as there playing, so if they speak over each other it will cut to that point).
In all honesty I'm not sure if that's what you're looking for, as sometimes those kinds of edit require more creative control the whole way through, rather than showing the person speaking. But if you're looking for a cut to POV as someone speaks, than yes, it can do that.
I'm not exactly sure what the exact workflow would look like in your particular situation right now, but if anyone is unhappy with SnapPod. We're offering refunds up to 1 month.
I randomly will decide to look for AutoPod for Resolve, and I am so glad I did it at the right time to catch this.
Forever licenses, while expensive upfront, are almost always worth it (you know, like Davinci Resolve).
I will probably use this in combination with Recut to cut out where both speakers are not talking, and then use this for the camera switching.

Lil question about the most recent update for the beta version 19, they said on their post on LD: " ...editors can work directly transcribed audio to find speakers" this would mean that in the future this plugin would be able to work with one audio with both or all the participants and would make the switch of the camera? 🤔 I know it's not the first time I ask this question but with this new update do you see it possible?
Great question! This feature is awesome as it will allow people to use this tool who have a simple recording, (like zoom) to edit their multi-camera podcasts with a single line of audio. I would love to open this tool up to that huge pool of audience.
We're going to look into this thoroughly after we get V1.0 out.
The main question will be whether Resolve exposes this data through an API so we can use it. Plugin development isn't so much limited by what we can do, but what Black magic allows us to use.

I would suggest in the U/I the options to choose your videos you are planning to sync up that will then move them to a multi cam folder/timeline for you, and the ability to set a preset you like for someone who does the same setup and recording process each time. So basically, once it’s all set up, it can essentially take less than 5 clicks to complete a 3 person multi cam podcast. Also a check box in the U/I for an intro and for an outro, where all you have to do is add a transposition once’s it’s completed the import and cutdown. That alone can make an hour process less than 10 mins essentially. And for a regular podcast creator, you are talking the difference between burnout and more money. That would all bring the most value out of this I believe. Hopefully that helps orson.

It wouldn't work unfortunately, it needs seperate audio tracks to work.
We will be investigating if Resolve's AI speaker detection will have API access, and if it does we'll develop it to support that which means it would work with 1 audio track. But we can't promise anything about that right now.

It won’t be able to do anything. Resolve does have an AI speaker detection in v19. So if our plugin can access that, we may be able to do it for 1 audio track. But can’t promise anything about that now 🫠

Would love to pre order... I have one specific use case I have that I'm wondering if is possible in the coming release or future. I don't edit podcasts but I edit multicam with a music session I do every month. Now not all the mics are isolated so sometimes you can hear multiple singers through different mics. However my pain is having to cut the 6 angles I create in post. I alway sync up all the video angles to a final mastered music file. I would love if this tool could cut my angles and since I know it may not auto detect the speaker per time, I would be more than happy If I could set it to make a cut after every 30 frames and it be randomised between all angles. Then I can come back in and swap the angles I prefer. Just the ability to kick start the process could be huge time saver for me. Any chance something like this is possible with the advanced feature you described?
Our plugin can work on videos other than just podcasts as long as two things happen:
1 - You have seperate audio and video tracks.
2 - You want to cut to a camera when the relevant audio track is louder.

Hey Orson...I have a question about SnapPod. I have the beta release. I have used it to edit one video with multiple camera angles and I got it to work, but the audio is all recorded on the wide angle camera. I'm attempting to edit a different video with the same set up, but it won't render a video. Does SnapPod only work when there are seperate audio tracks to match the seperate video tracks?

In the demo you mention it will cut to who is talking - I assume this means multicam. But on your sales page, it mentions it may not be possible to do multicam. Which is it. This is a deal breaker for me if it doesn’t do multicam. I’m currently using the other one that’s premiere only but really would like to edit in davinci instead.
By default, it cuts the footage on a regular timeline as is.
Multicam timeline workflow has been one of our highest priorities,
We have multicam timelines supported and working for Mac users, but unfortunately, as Resolve stands now, it's impossible for us to get it to work on windows.
As soon as it's possible, we'll get the MC timeline integrated for window users.
Hey Orson, is the Beta available for purchase and ready to use now? I am planning to edit a video podcast on mac. Three angles in total: A wide and 2 individual shots. The catch is that the wide angle will be using my dji mic system. So, it will have the "good" audio and the rest two angles will have camera audio. Will SnapPod work for that kind of a setup?

It may be troublesome to get a good cut if the main cameras don't have audio. It requires the mics to have close proximity to the guests, so the loudness differences can do the fine cutting. So usually either a Lav mic on the guest or a podcast mic.
If you where to send me proxies of your video footage with un-altered audio. I could do some tests on my side to see if Snap Pod can handle your setup. (I love testing different people's podcasts, as it gives me great use cases to figure out further improvements).

@@TheOrsonLord I am actually using a dji mic 2 system. Two transmitters and one receiver. I just found out I can record ON the transmitters in addition to the receiver. Meaning my wide will have a stereo mix in the receiver, and then my individual shot cameras will have audio from the dji mic transmitters. I will have to link the individual dji mic audio with individual shots manually so that SnapPod can edit based on audio. I think I have figured it out! Thank you for your help Orson. I will give SnapPod a try.

We have the plugin at a functioning state and it's packaged, but every time we are close to release, we notice a few more hiccups we need to iron out to get the beta to a state that's best for reviewing. Unfortunately we can't auto edit that, Snap Pod requires separate audio tracks for each speaker (not including wide angle).

Nice plugin, but unfortunately I see a problem for me here, I only have an audio track, due to the fact that I use a radio track, I think I couldn't work with that? With 2 cameras with the same audio.
Yeah that wouldn't work. Unless the audio is seperated in left and right channels. One audio track won't work.

we’re going to look at DaVinci 19 first, and make sure they don’t have any features to do that that could be integrated into the workflow.
For pauses at least, it will 99% be added some point in the future if Resolve doesn’t do it. (But no promise on when).

I thought that’s exactly what this was and your programming makes it cut to the person that’s talking so I don’t need to manually do it through multicam like I am now. Right now I record a podcast with 3 cameras. One on me. One on my guest. And another one that’s a wide shot with both of us. It takes me hours to edit each episode. Would this cut to me when it’s talking? Guest when he’s talking? And wife when we’re both talking? If so then I’ll go and signup now lol. I just want to make sure this works the way I hope it works. Snap Pod does edit podcasts automatically for Mac and Windows. The specific limitation I’m referring to is the TYPE of timelines it can automatically edit.
Right now, Snap Pod works on windows and Mac with regular timelines (these regular timelines can have multiple cameras). And for just Mac, it will also work with Multicam timelines.

Most of the competition will charge you WAY more for this. Right now his product is on a presale at $175... That is far more affordable than all the competitors I've seen. I've been using Autopod and they charge $300+ for a year. I am 100% grabbing SnapCamera on sale today because it'll save me loads in the future. I'd buy it if it was $250 too! Take advantage of the sale that is going on and it's just $75 more than your suggested price point! Orson obviously has already poured a lot of resources into this so I'm happy to support him!

@ that’s true I’ve tried these before and still ended up having to check the cuts so it’s sorta didn’t save me time because they can make mistakes. So you have to watch it back to make sure but it is coo. My only problem with them is they seem to not know when to show a wide and they tend to stick to the other angles. I would like it even if no one is talking to sometimes know it should cut to the wide automatically.
@@weshootfilms Oh yeah, I totally get that. The truth is, no automation software can completely eliminate what you have to do as an editor (otherwise why would we exist 🤣🤷♂).
Our plugin can only use the audio to inform it's own editing decisions. It's still best practice to check through everything for many reasons. I.e. guest picking their nose
That's why I showed the "honest" comparison at the begining. While specific parts of the process are pretty much 50x quicker. When compared to the overall process, we've measured it takes off between 10-40% of time spent editing.
We are implementing new tools to help increase the speed of where editors need to be involved where we can, i,e, we have a new feature coming soon which will create markers at "creative/ tough decision points on the timeline". That update is hopefully coming out next actually 🤞.
Our mission with Snap Pod isn't to replace an editor, but eliminate as many of the tedious decisions as machinely possible.
Once we've got a few more updates sorted, I will be bringing out some workflow videos to showcase it's power!
