- Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Concerto No. 2 in E-flat major for horn and orchestra, KV 417, performed by soloist Přemysl Vojta and the WDR Sinfonieorchester conducted by Julio García Vico. Přemysl Vojta is principal horn of the WDR Sinfonieorchester and a two-time winner of the 2010 ARD Music Competition, while Julio García Vico won the German Conducting Award in 2019. Recorded live on December 3, 2020 at the Kölner Philharmonie.

The soloist played very cleanly and with excellent control of the Horn
ABSOLUTELY DIVINE--- and may this young conductor be blessed--- the music really flows from his whole being--- absolutely divine.

This is perhaps the most improvisatory recording I've heard of this concerto, especially in the Andante.

This second Horn Concerto of Mozart is not heard often enough - the playing from the soloist and the orchestra is wonderful- I like the enthusiasm of the young conductor.

If Mozart wanted Leutgeb's interpretation, he would've added a cadenza, but he wrote it for his friend to show off his virtuosic natural horn skills. I'm kind of sad and disappointed with this performance as a listener. I checked out Přemysl Vojta's other performances, he's very good, but this piece failed to pay homage to both Mozart, Leutgeb and the natural horn as an instrument. This is like "the coming of age" piece for most hornists... Unfortunately, he played it as though it was written for contemporary horn, missing horn calls that have become standard repertoire for horn. Maybe he's bored of this piece, who knows. As a former hornist...

Звук напоминает тромбон, атака хриплая, часто слышится "уаа" при переходе от пиано к форте. Есть над чем поработать исполнителю.
