Senor Malo...has an unexplicable,unique timber in his voice that is absolutely unique. It is mesmerizing. What a gift he has!..and we get to hear it!
To me this is the Mavericks reaching full maturity. If you have followed them since they first started and listen to their old music and then you come and listen to this, this feels like the one song that encapsulates the beauty of what this band has been and what they have become. Bravo! I can’t stop listening to this track! The guitar. The evolving chords. Raul’s voice. Simply magnificent!

Absolutely. I hardly know them but this is a masterpiece. It makes me emotional when I hear it. I love the whole album and I'm a white guy who doesn't understand Spanish. Yes they are incredibly underrated.

Incredible track from one of the best bands in America. Raul Malo has never sounded so fully in command, and the entire album smokes from beginning to end. The song is a plea from a man to a woman farmer (sitiera) whose farm is running down to come and stay with him where they can be together and enjoy life. Por favor indeed!

This is the most gorgeous song sung by the most wonderful singer since Roy Orbison. It's guaranteed to bring tears. I used Raul Malo's "One More Angel" at my sister's funeral in England. But this song - phew! It's like when I first heard the Everly Brothers, the Beatles, and Bob Dylan.
When I heard the band do this in July 2022 at Shipshiwana, I literally wept. It was such a powerful, almost transformative experience. It took you on a journey spiritually, musically, soulfully.
Quite possibly one of the best songs I’ve heard in a long time. Goosebumps!

Sunday night, Austin City Limits comes on and I hear this. Had to track down this video.
Last Sunday night I'm half asleep on the couch, Austin City Limits is on the tube. I hear
this tremolo twang that sounds like something out of a Sergio Leone spaghetti western.
I awake from my slumber when I hear Raul's booming voice and this amazing trumpet
with this multi faceted band. I had never heard of the Mavericks before and its 2:00 AM
when I find La Sitiera on TH-cam.

Raul's voice still gets my attention after the first time I heard "I Should Have Been True" back in the 90's and never disappoints. I was fortunate to meet him a few times after some live shows in Newport, KY and Chicago.

Mavericks music gives me goosebumps every time
The original Mavericks was great with the new sound of Latin and country mostly but now they are almost a big band with a brass section and greater range of music that is superb. Still my favorite band in the last 3 decades.
This is the most inspiring graceful musical art form to bless this planet! To the heavens I go each time I listen to their love! These are the true peacemakers of our time! I thank you dearly for sharing your spiritual talent with us all ! You are Angels with instruments giving your all to each heartfelt expression! Im a follower for life!
