exactly! anime is story telling, same as movies, dramas and novels. moreover, anime has the art of drawing. i think making a good anime is harder (and requires more work) than making a good movie/drama/novel.
It's a story. Stories may seize control over one's emotions, no matter the delivery. It seems ignorant to dismiss those emotions brought out through such stories, to me x:

As amazing as tomoya's story is, it's the tragic story of naoyuki -tomoya's father- that gets me. (spoiler) tomoya suffers for 6 years, but gets reunited with nagisa and ushio in the end. naoyuki, on the other hand, wasn't so lucky. He had to continue on alone after loosing the person he loved so dearly, and raise his son alone (whom had later turned against him). loneliness and suffering were the only constants in naoyuki's life.
+sam parker That story really boosted my love and gratefulness towards my dad. That along with Light's dad's death in Death Note. Sounds silly but it really does affect me.
Naoyuki is so whittled down and hollowed out by the end of it all it's not even clear that he's mentally present enough to know that things are finally okay.
In the end Naoyuki goes back home - where he won't have to work, or drink and gamble to ease his suffering. You never completely recover from losing a loved one, but going home would have done him a world of good. His Mom wouldn't let him booze up as well.
I never thought I could weep that bad for a fictional Character. Todd's release (The Fox and the Hound) got me choked up, but my eyes were burning from that episode of the After Story, once 1:44 came around, the scene with Ushio crying and the Piano notes came rushing back, it cracked my Heart. By the end of the episode it was shattered completely. Took two days for me to continue.

But there are alternate universes like how theres a alternate universe where he dates tomoyo or kyou (in the anime) I think there is a alternate universe where the 3 of them got their happy ending. I'm not too sure but thats my speculation.
@@strangerluvrr they did die, but the light orbs from the other word with the girl (ushio) and the robot (tomoya) were able to bring them back. According to the recap episode, for tomoya's mind it felt like he instantly woke up back to Ushio's birth after he died in the snow
No matter how old i get but i will never forget this anime or the story, they are alive and living well in their world doing their best in their everyday life, i truly won't ever forget you, you will always live in my heart but it pains my heart to see 10 years ago but still this feeling is like they are there and still present just that is enough for me. And whoever is reading my comment i posted it to share my feelings and also every comment was like 5 years ago, anyway please be happy 😁 This anime is precious to me and all these feelings which i won't feel again it's kind of nostalgia.
they are distant but at the same time close....you hold them dear but must never hang on to them.....you live but then.....you forget,you forget about what had happened all those distant years ago...

Well I don't watch it but love the soundtracks at least. I use them to focus on my studies
10 Years!!! and I still listen to this melody. Clannad always will be in my heart. This anime taught me to go on my life and not give up!
