I remember being so excited, because I would be happy no matter who the winner was! Another emotional song they just released as a surprise is JUST BE YOURSELF. It's message and lyrics are just so uplifting. No MV tho but it's a feel good song for sure. One of their best works imo
As you said "Emotional in every meaning of that word" describes Twice and even Kpop in general pretty well. Twice is the epidemy of feeling happy when you listen to their music. :]

AAAAHHHH!!! You, my friend, are going through my K-Pop journey! Believe it or not, I used to listen to Rock music and heavy metal too - I thought that's my type of music as well. But after a long time of being sad, I got introduced to K-pop and I never looked back! They are my source of dopamine!
I love Twice! I don't think I've heard their full discography yet but I love - Heart Shaker, Alcohol Free, Scientist, The Feels, Feel Special, Fancy, Kura Kura! They make songs like almost every season so this one's a long amazing rabbit hole again
Twice is the quintessential "pop" girl group of Kpop - they are incredibly talented, their choreo is always on point, and their vocals are always on point. They are definitely the peppy, upbeat, take on the genre - they've put out some of my favorite songs and they are always a joy to watch or listen to.
I feel the same way about kpop. I never knew i needed it until i heard it for the first time. And now it's definitely my favorite type of music. But it's not only the music for me, all the personalities in all these different groups are just so interesting and fun to discover. This entire "world" is just so fascinating to me. I only really got into Kpop last year, but I already made memories (like jumping into all these groups' rabbit-holes) that will last for a lifetime. I love K-Pop, too. I always knew it was popular for a while, but didn't check it out until late 2020 when I checked out BLACKPINK for the first time, and I've been hooked ever since. Thank God for it, otherwise I would've never checked out these amazing artists--especially TWICE and Stray Kids--and I'm always blown away by how talented they are, even if they're not my favorite. Either way, the genre itself makes me so happy, so I'm so glad I decided to fall down the rabbit hole as I'm never going back up.

Through them I also found many other groups who I am in love with today. K-Pop is just such an amazing thing and has so much to offer. and as we dig down deep into the group, we appreciate them more on their struggles and hardships.

I love your reaction, it brought me right back to first seeing this mv. I was going through a rough time in 2021, and then one afternoon in August I stumbled upon the What Is Love? mv. It was my first real exposure to kpop aside from Gangam Style years ago, and I had exactly the same reaction as you. Tears in my eyes, huge smile on my face. I watched it over and over and could feel something happening, like a wound healing. I didn't know I needed this music in my life, but somehow the music knew. Cut to February 2022, and my wife and I were singing and dancing at our first Twice concert.
I love Dreamcatcher, Red Velvet, Chungha, and Tayeon, to name a few, but Twice will always hold the #1 place in my heart.
Twice grows up through their videos from school crushes to more mature love themes in their more recent videos. Twice is the mood lifter that we all need. If you are ever feeling down, a few Twice songs will lift your spirits back up.
One of my favorite songs by them is "I CAN'T STOP ME", I highly recommend this song it's very catchy.

They are just so happy!! TWICE is the epitome of feel good fun & heartwarming music & experience of being a fan of a group; they are great representation of the real kpop with fun catchy (music&dance) colorful sound! you totally feel a new culture & experience with them (& esp old kpop). why Twice are so unique is that they are so real, it's never forced with tem , they are sunshines in real lifes too; you get great music & dance and even great contents with the girls; they are so fun goofy & funny.
I suggest to see their older staffs first so u can feel the growth each time; For exp: their debut (1st song) Like Oh Ah , TT, Likey ect

Groups like Twice,BTS just drip positive energy. Its just makes us feel loved.I know its cheesy,but it really does feel that way. And generally, if you think about all the big groups...they don't have a bad song. There are preferences of course, but I still cant find an objectively trash song.

Been waiting for you to check out my favorite group! I was lucky enough to see Twice on their sold out US tour and it was the best concert ever! Gotta check them out if they tour near you! Their songs and the members as well just put a big smile on my face! They’re like a big shot of Vitamin C. You should watch an intro to Twice to get to know their names and personalities. You’ll fall for them all. They started out with a cute concept in the beginning but now they’re showing a more mature side. They have a huge collection of songs in Korean, Japanese and now English. I recommend Like Ooh Ahh, TT, Knock Knock, Dance the Night Away, Likey, Candy Pop, Best Thing I Ever Did, Fancy, Breakthrough, Feel Special, Fake and True, More and More, I Can’t Stop Me, Cry For Me, Kura Kura, Alcohol Free, Perfect World, The Feels and Scientist and there’s plenty more! What I love about Twice's earlier work is that they just want to make you happy. They've truly brightened up my life tremendously. WIL is one of my favorite MVs by them.
About the MV, it pictures all of them watching different movies to answer the question "What is Love?". The interesting common thing in all of the movies they're watching is that none of the movies have happy endings and have different perspectives on love.
There's no conclusive answer to the question, but maybe the real answer is that love starts with yourself. That's why you see Nayeon transform from a geeky, unsure teenager to a confident lovely young woman.

Just listening to Twice's songs is an immidiately burst of serotonin. I love them with all my heart. Like many people have said in the comments, TWICE started out with a pretty cute and yothful concept. This was their 9th Korean video, and personally I think this song is the "culmination" of their cute and youthful side.
Over the years since that release they've "grown up" more, and their music has changed a little.
I saw that you got their song "I Can't Stop Me" as a recommendation, and I personally feel like that song is the culmination of their powerful and mature side. (you should definitely check it out, just to see the contrast x)
I've been with them since the beginning, so I might be a little (a lot) biased, but I think you should check out more of their songs, just to really understand the true range of _their_ style. They don't have the same sound as Blackpink, Dreamcatcher or Red Velvet, but they've still evolved a LOT.
You said it best, I’m an old fart and I grew up to New Wave, rock and roll, post punk, industrial music etc etc. Strange enough but there’s something so much more organic and heartfelt that is going on in Kpop. The message they are sending and how they portray is so heart warming, at least with Twice anyways. I haven’t been more attached to music since my hipster ‘irresponsible’ days
I'm so glad you find kpop capable of emotion... because so many accuse the artists of being robots in a factory industry.. and while I can't deny the labels can be pretty crappy at times... at the end of the day they are still people with passions, pains, and personality
Western songs and k-pop songs are very huge and different ..even if the song is about , love or self love or about affection , or anything topic the sound of both industries will be very different and I'll definitely choose K-pop because that's what something is very new and vast..since 7 years old I've been hearing english songs after coming at 10 years old I started listening k-pop and that's what changed everything I was totally in shook how can something be so different like it's all different k-pop is totally something I can listen to my lifetime nonstop and from then I grew up with k-pop and i can my childhood memories are k-pop and forever will be 💜 and you should check each and every k-pop band and songs i bet you you'll very very very rarely find a bad song in the whole industry..like I've never found any bad song yet from any group ..yes everyone has different vibe and style of music so they don't like a particular song but other love it that means it isn't a bad song so yeah I'll be looking forword to your reaction and also you should react to K-pop artists variety shows and see how close groups are and love each other like family even they are from different house family but debuting in a groups together make them besties 💓

It is genius how they portray the anticipation and longing about love with this song.

Twice is definitely the sugar cane bubblegum pop side of kpop which is not always my taste but something about their songs is very addictive. And in recent years they matured their style the slighest bit and i’ve really enjoyed them!
