Would you consider ‘I have nothing’ to be her easiest song to sing out of all of Whitney’s singles during her vocal prime? I know no Whitney song is easy to sing but when singers like Ariana and Jessie J have performed a Whitney song they chose ‘I have nothing’.

Although this is helpful, I feel it's a bit of cop out singing it a tone lower. The hardest thing about this song is belting those top notes, obviously it will be easier a tone lower. Would love to hear a tutorial of it in the original key please. X

I'll ask you many questions I think here and there. Can you pls tell me as well how to keep saliva reflex not to come as a sing aspecially when I am stressed on the performance etc..sometimes it is reflex to swallow anx sometimes it is real need to swallow saliva during performance. Hi Freya, thanks for this. Right at the end you mention something that troubles me a bit on quite a lot of occasions and I don't really know what's going on there. I wonder if you could do a whole lesson on it. The issue is that business of the unwanted vocal fry as you called it. I just feel it like my voice breaking up and I don't know why it happens. I would really like to understand what is causing it. I get it in various situations not just the one you've mentioned here. Sometimes I get it when I am just doing a scale. And then my scale gets completely messed up and I have nothing left to but stop singing because I can't stop it from happening and it just gets worse. Is it about breath support? And if it is, what exactly must one do with the breath support. I mean if you do give this a shot, can you be super explicit because I tend to find generic terminology like "breath support" not that helpful. I only really have a vague understanding of it. So yes this issue tends to happen around my break mainly G A B C5. But it can show up anyway once it does start happening.
This doesn't go at all in the real singing technic, a proper belt, the tips don't make any technical sense, she's teaching just a sweet soft style how to sing it. You should teach people how to strengthen their voices first to do a proper belt (you can't learn that in one video), since it's a muscle, in the gym you also don't do heavy weight lifting directly. Nice video but not proper vocal coaching.
If you bothered to read the title. You’d realise this is a tutorial how to sing it, almost in a sense how Freya personally sings it. So she is demonstrating how she sings it. This isn’t a lesson on how to belt. To sing this song you need to have a lot of power and strength in your voice and know your vocal range, especially if you’re going to sing it in the original key... just understand this is a tutorial on “how to sing” the song not “how to belt”.
Personally, this helped me when I was struggling because I've only picked lil choir voice training as a mezzo soprano. And I do very much agree, slowly and slowly everyone who doesn't have much experience in belting or a knowledge of where their vocal range stands should start on something as a foundation before heading over to this video.
You could literally search other videos of hers to learn about how to belt or the technical aspect. What did you think she is gonna spoon feed your everything in a single video? Get off your high horse.

Hi Freya, thanks for this. Right at the end you mention something that troubles me a bit on quite a lot of occasions and I don't really know what's going on there. I wonder if you could do a whole lesson on it. The issue is that business of the unwanted vocal fry as you called it. I just feel it like my voice breaking up and I don't know why it happens. I would really like to understand what is causing it. I get it in various situations not just the one you've mentioned here. Sometimes I get it when I am just doing a scale. And then my scale gets completely messed up and I have nothing left to but stop singing because I can't stop it from happening and it just gets worse. Is it about breath support? And if it is, what exactly must one do with the breath support. I mean if you do give this a shot, can you be super explicit because I tend to find generic terminology like "breath support" not that helpful. I only really have a vague understanding of it. So yes this issue tends to happen around my break mainly G A B C5. But it can show up anyway once it does start happening.

This doesn't go at all in the real singing technic, a proper belt, the tips don't make any technical sense, she's teaching just a sweet soft style how to sing it.
You should teach people how to strengthen their voices first to do a proper belt (you can't learn that in one video), since it's a muscle, in the gym you also don't do heavy weight lifting directly.

If you bothered to read the title. You’d realise this is a tutorial how to sing it, almost in a sense how Freya personally sings it. So she is demonstrating how she sings it. This isn’t a lesson on how to belt. To sing this song you need to have a lot of power and strength in your voice and know your vocal range, especially if you’re going to sing it in the original key... just understand this is a tutorial on “how to sing” the song not “how to belt”.
Personally, this helped me when I was struggling because I've only picked lil choir voice training as a mezzo soprano. And I do very much agree, slowly and slowly everyone who doesn't have much experience in belting or a knowledge of where their vocal range stands should start on something as a foundation before heading over to this video.
You could literally search other videos of hers to learn about how to belt or the technical aspect. What did you think she is gonna spoon feed your everything in a single video? Get off your high horse.
