I bought 2 of these. One worked great out of the box. The other had a cross threaded adjustment knob and the spring was pushing against the cam so hard that the machine wouldn’t start until above 8v. Luckily I’m pretty mechanically inclined and was able to get it working. Still very hard to adjust but still a great little machine.
I have one and use it to pull thick lines. Other than that I can't stop using my Tim Hendricks Cheetah and Dringenberg V3. Best machines ever. Coil or not. My V3 pulls the crisper 14s I've ever seen. And my Cheetah does the black n gray single needle cholo shading style amazing. But my Extreme definitely pulls big crispy lines. Very good product for the price. And feels very ergonomic compared to my ads heavy coils. My V3 is coming in at over 7oz. But its not designed for ergo but for strong saturation and long run times. Nice review
Heya Adam you referred to having spare Swiss motors. I have a couple machines I want to tinker with and switch out to higher quality motors. What do you recommend? Maxon mubachi or faulhaber?
Looks like Inkjecta jumped on a similar design too. 700 plus dollars! The description says it easily pushes a 45 mag. I'm going to try one of these extremes, hopefully it will make lining less of a chore. Thanks for the reviews man!!
Yo how do you like these “hybrids” ??… Any of these rotary machines that are designed to hit like a coil machine, if you had to use for instance a direct drive and a hybrid, which one would you use for shading and which one you’ll use for lining? Out of all the machines you own or have used, just for fun how would you decide?
Now I use the Exo tattoo pen (direct drive). But this machine by dragon hawk I love the way it hits with a standard needle on the bar. It’s not good with cartridges. That’s why I go with my pen machine. I can use one machine for more things if needed
@@TheBeardedTattooer with the wormhole ones you adjust the stroke with the screw on the very back of the machine that hits the back spring correct? Technically it’s with most of the Dan kubin rip offs
I put a faulhaber motor in one if these and i lightened the armature bar it hits so much better. i own a dan kubin sidewinder v3r and of course it lines better than this but i think for tgr money its amazing

And the Dan Kubin was top expensive for me because i started learning tattooing just a year ago. Now i am very glad that you did this review! I wonder if this little Thing is also good for 3RL pepper whip shading?? The Technik where you Put the voltage very low and layer with quick hand movements little dots over each other to create shadings. Do you know what the lowest Herz / Circles per second the machine is running at? Thanks!🤟🙌😊

I already changed motor for a swiss motor right off a hummingbird v2 i didnt use. The original is ok but just like the Swiss motors better . I also placed an O-ring between the stroke adjustment knob and the RCA connection because it had a little play sideways wich made it rattle more. The o ring dampens the sound a great deal
Maragtas Code smaller groupings are ok to use cartridges like 1rl 3rl or 5rl. But I wouldn’t go any higher.. I only use Standard needles with this its amazing with standard needles it’ll push whatever I’ve put in so far I’m upto a 15rl and it dont hesitate at all. But thats standard needles

So badass that you kinda sorta retracted from the negative dragonhawk criticism 😅 I have had some problems with their cheaper least expensive rotaries, never the less I have abused the machines running them crazy hot and now they skip some. You get what you pay for and in my perspective it’s alright alright 🤙🏼. This machine in particular got me a little bit exited ... I wouldn’t mind the price if it delivers half the time a kubin side winder would... it definitely looks and sound sexy though 😬🖤

I’ve felt the same way about that company, I’ve had motor just heat the fuck up and or, skip/ variate in speed after some hard sessions. I know for a fact even the cheapest models like the extreme models and the atom and Arashi cheyen clone type pens will last at least a year...and even than it’s a good casing for the Swiss motor haul... I live in Mexico and it’s kind of hard investing in learning.... I’ve been following this machine since I saw it on aliexpress and went straight to the dragonhawk website, because it looked so god damn beautiful in that gold plated clean look..... if you look in the tab where all the machines pop up, you’ll find it. I hope you can throw some shots of this machine pulling a 14 liner 😬 that would be funky rad 😅👌🏼
Have you used a dan kubin before? Just curious how much of a difference there is, it seems like relatively tough machine to knockoff but I don't know much about the mechanics off them.
Sorry it took me so long to respond. I would not.. only because you need to adjust your throw and your voltage to a specific place for your specific hand speed and beginning it would be very difficult.

What's going on man?. Hey back in January of 2019 you did a video of the hummingbird mini direct drive machine. The one similar to the miroangelo. I have a problem. The 3.5 cam magnet, the bearing is bad. Is there a replacement for that? Do you know if the miroangelo cams will fit on the hummingbird?
Sorry it took so long to respond I’m not sure if hummingbird has replacements but if so they’d be in the website. I’d email them if I was you. They’re usually great with customers. And no I don’t believe the microangelo cam will fit.

I just ordered one. Will that motor come out of the housing its in? Is it just pressure fit?
It’s not pressure fit it has a screw that keeps it in place. It comes with the Allen key for all disassembly. Which is super easy.
I have a machine very similar to this one, it’s a wormhole which is almost the same brand. They also have another version that looks more like yours
Yes but even though I dislike dragonhawk.. this motor is better than the wormhole ones…they’re nice machines but not for the price!

I like pens the best just nice i can line with them shade with them i just really like them i love my V7 and V8 humming bird.
