He's trying to warn you about using. If you aren't, then, he's telling you how it is or was. If you are using then, you should know. Great song. Makes my hair stand up during the chorus everytime.
I think the line "chemical coma life" is a play on words. Its supposed to sound like "coma life" and "come alive." I bet he wrote it that way on purpose.
In a sense you are both kind of right, when dependant on a chemical it can certainly see like you are going through life comatose. But at the same time, wouldn't that sense of state be as if the chemical has taken over and become life itself? It's certainly one of the hardest struggles in life, that few can attest to over coming.
@@andrewgregg7180 or, for example, heroin used to both put me in a chemical coma (the nodz /fall outs, lol) but at the same time it made me feel the most alive I'd ever felt in my entire life. It may of brought me the closest I'd ever been to death but made me feel as if I'd finally come alive And it does taste divine when you can taste it in your mouth after injecting it. I felt like this song was 100% about heroin when I first heard it- I'd been suspecting he may have an opiate addiction after listening to "wasteland" but I feel like this song is clearly about dope. Lol
I smoked pot, when I was high on pot I didn't have urges to do anything else, when that didn't work, music, when that didn't work, I worked out, all of these things relieve stress, which is what causes the urges, it also takes a lot of mental strength, good luck with the battle my friend, I will pray for you.
deez nuts no, no no no, lol, I do see how you thought that tho lol. no, I used to use hydrocodone, codine, cocaine, crack, meth, et cetera. I used pot to help me quit. Because pot is not addictive, I smoked that, and then I quit smoking pot when I didn't have urges anymore. Sorry for the confusion.
To all of you that relate to this song and feel like there is no way out... there is! Overcoming depression is a tough task but it is possible. Im going through it myself and the process to get through it is difficult but worth it. Dont be ashamed to ask for help. Someone will listen!
wow look at all of those h8ters well every lyric video ive watched was a black screen and white font until now... liked and even subscribed ;P take that "Mr. President"
Such a great song about addiction. Really helped me get through some tough times. Absolutely love this band!!! They know what's going on in the world and have deep, meaningful lyrics. I saw them live a long time ago at a KUPD event and I was completely hooked from there.
This song is such a grad song it's my first time listen to this song and I really like it y'all are doing a good job so keep it up y'all I love yalls muic
such a appropriate song for me as of may seventh twenty sixteen year of our Lord of our year I will have one year clean from addiction myself because I may not stay clean forever but just for today I decided not to use and than the day after that because you can't kill me that easily God bless you all! greetings from BUFFALO N.Y.
I grew up in an extremely abusive home. I was a habitual runaway as a teen would frequently hop trains in the early 2000s and shoot up. Saw many people like me pass. I miss the taste I relapse sometimes but still struggle. This song helps me
To everyone out there having opiate addiction problems... Hang in there, get through the withdraws and move the fuck on. Trust me it's worth it. Source - oxy/herioin/any pharma opiate i could get my damn hands on for about 8 years. Got on Suboxone for about a year and I've been clean, opiate free for 4 months. First month was rough after that I started seeing colors differently, everything becomes more vivid... Better grasp on life, common sense comes back... Endless positives...
Epic! Love this band \m/ and yes I use this song as a person with a love one going through drug use. Of course, I respect and love and appreciate what the song is really about. But I hate when a person uses songs and interprets them to whatever helps u get by and people go, "no that's not what the song is about"! Ok, fine. Like I said, music is to help u and to reach u in all and every level and way possible and people are aloud to choose what the song means to them. That doesn't mean we don't know or appreciate the real meaning of our fav songs. Lol sry had to get that out 😈😜
I can definitely relate to this song. I'm addicted to OxyCodone everyday is a never ending battle. the first thing that's on my mind is taking my first dose I can't even start my day without taking the OxyCodone first. and when I run out of pills that's when the real torture begins. the torture of withdrawal. I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. I chose this life though I turned to the pills to make every bad thing go away and it worked and it still does. a part of me will never want to give it up. at some point I'll have to though. I can't keep living like this.. and the worst part is I'm only 19.
+Dominic Daley you have no idea what goes on in my life from day in and day out. I suffer with depression & anxiety. have for a lot of years now and the OxyCodone makes it easier to cope with. plus I have a spine disease in my back which causes severe pain that I can't even function I have to stay in bed constantly. So I'm not just addicted I need the medicine.
+Matt Bokina haha I know heroine is the strongest narcotic that there is. I used to watch intervention and saw what it did to people that shot it up they'd nod out immediately so I know it's stronger than any other narcotic. the oxy has a similar effect as the heroine same high just not as strong. I'll stick to the OxyCodone I can't afford heroine anyway. I know it's strong as hell though it numbs you so I figure that's why people turn to that instead of the oxy. I'm not gonna deny it I love the high it makes everything go away.
On the real tho, i have heard 10 years on the radio and known of them before they got radio play but i didn't come here expecting to like so many of their songs lol, pleasantly surprised.

Ok ok, Im Struggling to find out the real Lyrics, its either
"A Chemical Come Alive" Which kind of makes sence
"A Chemical Coma Life" Which makes no sence to me, or what i origionally thought
"A Chemical Cobaltite" which is a rare mineral made of arsenic, sulphur, and cobalt.
Chemical coma life, would be about opiates.
is the song about addiction?
interpret it however you want, I personally will continue to think its the most simple choice... That is, that its about Russian roulette. :)
as I said, interpret it as you will. I get the point and there is a sufficiently large chance of that being the intended purpose of the song, but, of course, I can interpret it as I please. I do understand how this could be taken to be about drugs though.
