Would you be able to tell me what the coverage is like between Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama? I fish the tidal rivers in that area and Navionics is complete trash, but I'm hesitant to drop the money not knowing if it'll be what I need.
This is wonderful, Alan! I too have the Coastmaster for my Helix 7 G3N here in the Upper Texas Coast. Question: where is the "Home" screen to find the Tides info? 7:03
Is the coastmaster chip the only way to get the bay and susquehanna river and other rivers iam getting the lakemaster+ northeast and Mid-Atlantic do i also need the intercoastal thanks for hummingbird
I have both also and yes coastmaster is a better chart but navionics isn't as bad as you made it out to be here. 1) you didn't let the sonar charts finish loading, there is more detail, 1 foot contour lines and you missed the one big thing Navionics has going for it - RELIEF SHADING.
Please tell me there is something i can do... I have a H.B. Helix 7 g2n. THE Coast Master is made for g3n and better. Any way I can I make it work or should i just return the card???
We are planning a trip florida to Bimini Bahamas 2021 I have a hummingbird helix 7 will the cost master allow for chart plotting that route? I’m confused on what map would be best for the trip and fishing in that 49 mile run. Any info is appreciated
So turn on Community Edits and enable depth shading and compare please, kinda didn't go into details of options in navionics

Thanks great information.

On the Solix there's a "home" button. From there you can select tides. I'm not sure where it is on the Helix.

It looks like it's only the G3 and above Helix models support Coastmaster charts. I don't know of any work around. Bummer. They are great map cards.

Does it show oyster bars and rocks?
Can you keep your waypoints\marks when you change from Navionics to coastmaster?
Yes, they are independent of each other.
