Bas Rutten doesnt sleep so he can recover......he sleeps so the world can recover. He doesnt need to be conscious to be a threat....its just helps.

So much bullshido out there. Lotta bullshido in MMA these days too. Not Bas though. Bas Rutten is the real deal badass martial artist. Total respect.

    • @oldgrappler2536

there is no bullshido in mma. it gets weeded out very quickly. common sense.

@@oldgrappler2536 bro you should see the "gun defense" and "knife defense" today. Not to mention the "women's defence classes" that teach girls there's no way leaving your face open will get you punched.

as a short Mexican I always watched Julio Cesar Chavez. the body shots were his bread and butter. most normal people will fold with a well landed jab to the gut.

Bas I applied your knowledge the other day in a match, guy was keeping hands close to face to come in close pit-bulling since I had a very long reach on him, I remembered your advice about just because he's blocking doesn't mean I shouldn't commit. I went dead center straight jab to his face and connected twice breaking through :) thank you

Feints can be really subtle, obviously look at your opponents body then throw a hard jab to the body, let them bock it if they want,it doesn't matter.
Do that two or three times, then next time you're in position look to your opponents body again and throw an overhand right to the head.

A question, isn't it safer in the 1-2 combination to the body to after repeating it, you just throw the 1 or faint that jab and then go to the head with the 2 and maybe a 3, I mean cause if you repeat the hole combination to the body twice, he may counterattack you knowing what you're gonna throw?

the main thing about pro fighting is avoiding the big danger strikes to the worst places and i think in the ring you would need to be dominating the fight already to rely on body shots connecting with out threat of being knocked out and have the balls to go for the same strikes again which i think would be getting you KO'd or dodged / trade striked etc....just my opinion i dont have any MMA training but im sure its firstly about confidence in movement vs movement to find " rhythm " and i think you would need to be dominating hard in this fashion to feel you can rely on these combos against the opponent just my thoughts.
