Spot on!!!! We love a crystal-clear body wash. I wanted to add that salt cannot be used again after a product has been thinned out with a fragrance oil. Crothix is my go-to ingredient when this happens. I was making a version of this, but I love to use vanilla fragrance oils, and they thin out products like crazy. I was using a new thickener, which was hard to work with.
Hey Tara! I think they used the liquid form of the surfactant, thats why they had to use salt to thicken it! Also, do you think I could change the Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate for another surfactant? Its really difficult to find where I live and also so expensive ): I don't care much about it being clear. In the topic of price, It would be really nice for you to compare the brand original price versus the dupe. Amazing video as always
Do have another suggested anionic surfactant? I clicked the link for the powdered version and it's sold out. It doesn't seem like it's carried by any of the other big suppliers like wsp, formulator sample shop.
I will definitely recreate this but after making I will separate in different beakers and add a pinch of turmeric to one to see how the color comes out. Thank you for sharing
So excited to try this!!! Just need to order Sodium lauroyl sarcosinate as I've never worked with it before. You mention having to use more of the liquid vs powder. How can i find out how much more would you have to use?
Hey Taralee thank u so very much for the videos u post . I just happened to stumble upon them . Loved all ur videos, super informative, lots of tricks n tips . Absolutely love that ur so selfless on giving out ur recipes. Stay blessed always . One question i had was can we use the recipe n make it for selling purposes also.
Ur videos are awesome. It's helping me to do things at home. Thanks a lot for your videos. Could you please upload the video that how to make sunscreen lotions and gel and tinted sunscreen lotions. Thank you.
thank you! Glad you are enjoying them. Unfortunately SPF products can't be made at home. They need to be lab tested. So if you do make them at home you need to send it off to a lab to make sure it works and get an SPF rating. This can be expensive! so that is why I recommend buying SPF products.
@@TaraLeee thanks a ton for your guidance and support. Keep going. This is help us to step forward. Kindly let me know about the process of sunscreen. I wish to know about that because of my curiosity. If possible could you please tell me the procedure and process and methods of making sunscreen please? Thank you so much
Hy Tara! I make super clear body wash and shampoo with just sodyum lauryl sulfate, cocamide dea and cocoamidopropyl betaine. COLD PROCESS... super easy... and the rest of usual stuff (water, preservative, fragrance etc)...
@@S-tc6bd Hello! Sure, you can try and start with: 30 % Lauryl 10 % cocoamidopropyl betaine 5 % cocamide DEA Usually there is no need for other viscosity agents or gums. It will be bubbles and get white from the bubbles but it should be clear in 12 to 24 hours. The rest of the ingredients is up to you 😊❤ Hope you like it
Ive found online that Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate powder is also called EasyFoam and is available from ingredients to die for under that name. Might be a bit easier to source than through ebay
I didn't make a big batch. Just enough for roughly a 10oz bottle, but for some reasonthe mixture with the coco b, SCI and SLS didn't melt down. It raimain3d pasty. Not sure what happened there. Maybe the batch was too small?
hi Tara, i wanna ask....how if im not using sodium lauroyl sarcosinate but i add more 3% in SCI, so i only use CAPB in 30% and SCI in 8%, is it possible to get the same texture and foaming performance?
please I try making shower gel since one month by adding large amount of Betain up to 15% to 20% beside 15% of sodium lauryl sulphate but I found it make my skin itchy and red patches may exist also and all who use have the same complain ? and when I make a shower gel by adding 3% of Betain and 3% of coconut DEA beside 15% SLES I don't find my skin become itchy ? please answer me according to your experience
You are brilliant❤️❤️😍😍 please can you dupe strawberry body butter form the bodyshop( the old formula because the new one is a bit waxy) i’ll really appreciate that coz i can’t find the old formula in shops anymore😢
Any surfactants that are NOT coconut based? I love to make new things for my family members for Christmas every year but I do have a few that are severely allergic to coconut so NO coconut or coconut derived ingredients whatsoever.
Working with sodium cocoyl isethionate is soo tiring and results are always unknown because of sometimes lumps in it, sometimes the solution becomes hazy and sometimes it started separating from each other white part floats and the watery part is on the down side....
you need to calculate the active surfactant matter, you need less SCI than other liquid surfactant to get a clear solution. i have a video that goes into detail on this on my patreon
I just ran across your channel for the first time I use native but it's getting very expensive this is clear boric acid body wash can you please make a homemade one cuz that's the only product I can use for my sensitive areas and if I can make it that would be lovely it's made by monistat

yup you could use a different anionic surfactant.
buying it will always be cheaper, unless you are a formulator who already has everything

Thanks for this beautiful creation. What can I use in place of sodium lauroyl sarcosinate?
Tara can you formulate a lip product preferably lipgloss with spf
If you do not have sodium lauryl sulfoacetate? Would it be ok to use its percentage amt in SCI?
What if add glycerin in the formula?
How much sodium lauroyl sarcosinate do I use for a 100g batch. I only have the liquid form?

Wow, so no glicerin?
Any clean substitution for SLS
Sodium laureth sulfate (sls) is way different than sadium lauroyl sarcosinate. Sarcosinate is very gentle surfactant unlike sls
