michael jennette I'm a Bruins fan but this is one of the best games I have ever watched. As a fan I was on the edge of my seat and didn't totally realize but I go back to watch and realize how great the game was
Isaac buddy.. I'm pretty sure he's specifically talking NHL, and possibly just playoffs with what was on the line.. I realize that you're a Tampa fan man, and that you're coming in here with your big ass bag of salt, trying to make a case.. Just because your team lost.
I hated it. Too intense for me man lol I can't handle low scoring games where 1 goal can mean game over. I was working EVS in the control room, doing the replays for the big screen and this was the toughest game of the playoffs to watch. It was really stressful.
11 years later, still the best hockey game I ever saw. Two great teams that brought their best for 60 straight minutes on the same night in a Game 7. Outstanding.
Anyone still watch this to get hyped for the playoffs?? Two veteran goaltenders just putting on an absolute show in one of the best playoff games I have ever seen.
I'm biased, sure, but this is honestly the best playoff game I have ever seen. Clean, hard-fought, tough-nosed (literally!), and it took an absolutely perfect play to get the game winner. Both teams played their A+ game. Amazing.
Charleston W No, that was more of a Chicago Cubs like choke. I don't think I've ever seen a team so utterly turn off the gas with 15 minutes to go. Amazing comeback by the B's, sure, but even more of a gag job by the Leafs. They are basically the Cubs of the NHL.
Gotta feel bad for Roloson. Such a phenomenal goaltender in the playoffs and he never got the chance to lift the greatest trophy in all of sports. But Thomas just put on the greatest goaltending performance of all time, and that is an indisputable fact. Either way I hear Roloson is the goaltending coach for the Ducks, so it'd actually be nice if Anaheim won another so he could finally have a chance to lift it.
yeah, twice his teammates let him down, in the finals when he was with the oilers, his stupidass teammate pushed the carolina player into him, ending his playoff run, and in this game, he only allowed just 1 goal and his teammates failed to score
Roloson was magnificent in this game. His performance is a masterpiece of anticipation. It was only spoiled by one bad defensive gaffe. Both teams deserved to win this game but I'm just glad it was the Bruins (being a New Hampshire native). Easily one of the best 3 hockey games I've ever seen.
what a roster this was. Tim Thomas, Milan lucic, Shawn Thornton. I miss em so much lol. Pastrnak has been a helluva good player this past year. glad we got him.
out of every hockey game i've ever watched, this one takes the cake. best game i ever watched in terms of skill, passion, and so much more. amazing. this is what hockey is all about.
The sad thing is this was such an AMAZING game, but people just see 1-0 and think wow what a boring game hockey sucks. 1-0 playoff games are usually the best
@@CTeves97 1-0 games can be boring. This one wasn't. This one was one of the tightest games ever played. I'd take a 1-0 game played like this over a 3-2 game full of stoppages any day.
Jonathan Reed Rask, Bergeron, Chara, Pastranak, McQuade, and Marchand are the only Bruins left from this roster. The new players are bringing the Bruins to excellent stats.
Owen Roberts They could be contenders this year. Rask wants to make up for 2013. He’s the only goalie with the fewest regulation losses. Could be a contender for the Vezina.
This has to be one of the best games I've seen to date! 5 years later and nothing has come even remotely close! Great hockey being played In a great atmosphere! Good times, good times..
At 12:47 when Baba O'reilly starts playing, my god what chills and nostalgic feeling do I get while rewatching this in 2024. Also, jesus what a Bruins lineup. This has to be the most entertaining cup run ever, and not just saying that as a B's fan. Every game was filled with drama!
Still one of my all time favorite series and Game 7 was one of the greatest games I’ve ever seen. Chills when Baba O’ Riely starts playing with 44 seconds left to play.
It was amazing to watch Roloson that year, I remember he was traded from the Islanders and went on a run and did everything to give his team a chance to win. Great man and I was happy to watch him on Long Island for a few years. I really do enjoy watching the Bruins as well, and Thomas was just unbelievable that year.
I've been a,Lightning fan my whole life (24) and this was by far the best playoff series I've ever seen. So exciting. Wish the Bolts would've won this game but it's all good. I agree with that Boston fan below. The team that won this game was going to win the cup. The Nucks would've lost
Nope I didn't miss it i watched every game.. Great series but I think the lightning could've closed that series out earlier and you have the Flames fans always complaining about game 6. I don't really care about the flames being Canadian
Yea i knew it wasn't in the net :-) They made the right call. Another factor too is that when the lightning won the cup they had a #1 team all year but in 2011 the lightning rallied from being down 3-1 in the quarter finals to win 3 straight games and close out the series then sweep the Caps. I think it was just so unexpected is why it added onto the excitement. Both series we're great and St.Louis double OT winner I'll never forget.
I agree im a bruins fan i was 20 years old i went to game 3 in tampa bruins were up 3-0 tampa came back an won that game but we won the series just two evenly matched teams great series
It’s funny how you either grow to respect a team during an NHL playoff series or despise them. As a bruins fan I had nothing but respect for that lightning team. Especially Roloson, St. Louis and Stamkos (no way either Sedin comes back to the ice after taking that shot to the face). And yet one round later is was the cheap shot, dirty Canucks that I just despised. Other than Kessler I hated them. I was have been beyond pissed had they lost to that Vancouver team. I was disappointed when they lost to Chicago 2 years later but like Tampa I just respected the hell out of them. Sort of made the loss easier to stomach.
I can't tell you how many times I've come back to watch this video, and every time it still gives me goosebumps and an adrenaline rush. I will never forget this game, this year, or this roster.

I'm a tampa fan who was at all the lightning's playoff games that year, and i flew up for this game. I have never heard an eruption of sound louder than when the bruins scored that one goal, and I've been to quite a few sporting events
I was watching this the whole time. I ended up calling my sister and her fiance who were away for the game about 4 times just updating them on what was going on. I think I miss-dialed a couple of times with all the excitement.
this was the best pure game of the entire playoffs for any team. a very hard fought, physical, fast paced, exciting game. no bullshit calls by the refs, and no cheap shit, just all around an excellent game played by two teams who desperately wanted to win. i am just thankful and blessed that i was there, couldnt talk for a solid week. thank you bruins for finally bringing the cup back to boston!
Best game of the entire 2011 Stanley Cup Playoffs. One of the best playoff games in NHL history - and that's not an exaggeration. This was the equal of the 1979 Game Seven semi-final between the Bruins and Canadiens (won, of course, by Montreal 5-4). Riveting end-to-end action, spectacular goaltending. Steven Stamkos can play on my team anytime! His reaction heading to the dressing room with his broken nose seemed more like "Let's get this damn thing fixed so I can get back on the ice!"
I almost cried when they scored the goal because I knew we no more goals were going to be scored. I am a huge bolts fan and this one was very hard to accept.
I wasn't a huge fan of stamkos before but he showed alot of passion to miss one shift after taking a shot to the face from one of the heavist shots in the NHL

14:57 My god look at that crowd going crazy
The interview at the very end with Thomas was nice. I don’t remember watching that when I saw this live.
Horton sprinkled magic water on the ice before game 7. Stanley Cup Champions 2010-2011 Way to go boys!
That was great thank you!!!!!!!!!!! God Bless the Black and Gold and good Bless the Big Bad Boston Bruins!!!!!!
I think I miss-dialed a couple of times with all the excitement.
this was the best pure game of the entire playoffs for any team. a very hard fought, physical, fast paced, exciting game. no bullshit calls by the refs, and no cheap shit, just all around an excellent game played by two teams who desperately wanted to win. i am just thankful and blessed that i was there, couldnt talk for a solid week.
thank you bruins for finally bringing the cup back to boston!
i remember how frustrating this game was. on the edge of my seat the whole way. when horton scored....ohhhhh man i was so happy.
NATHAN HORTON BRAKES THE TIE :') NEVER GETS OLD!
I seriously cried man tears when Thomas hugged his former college teammate.
This Bruins team was the most solid team I have ever seen. Hardly any weaknesses besides a less than spectacular power play.
