This song was not recorded before he died, in fact it got released while he was in prison..from the album “Me Against The World” that made Pac the first rapper in history to debut an album #1 billboard..while sitting in prison!!!
I’m so sorry for your loss. My son spent six years inside. He lost his grampa who helped me raise him while locked up. He left at 17 cuz he didn’t want to live by my rules. He ran the streets and caught some charges, most were drug related. Of course he had to learn the hard way who his “friends” were once he was locked up. He got sober, and of course I held him down inside. I showed up every week to see him, put money on his books etc. while he was locked up he told me I should listen to this. Not a rap person but Tupac was a brilliant artist and exceptional human being. This song still chokes me up.
Great reaction! "Keep ya head up" or "Brenda's got a baby" are a couple great story telling songs by 2pac. Brenda's got a baby is based on a true story.
That was 2PAC's stepfather that passed away, but 2PAC's biological father is still alive. 2PAC met Billy Garland after he was shot at quad studios. 2PAC woke up n da hospital and his father was standing over him. 2PAC always thought his father was dead his entire life. They had a relationship b4 he died.
This was in 95 from the Me Against The World Album. It was the #1 Album and he was in jail when this song was released that's why he's not in the video but his mother is Afeni Shakur. R.I.P 2pac ✊🏿✊🏿✊🏿✊🏿
Pac's dad is not dead, he's alive today. His mother told him his dad was dead & wouldn't let the father around Pac. After Pac was shot the 1st time his pops showed up & they kept in touch after that. Also Pac was alive during this video but he was locked up
Great reaction and great song! Glad I witnessed your first time hearing it. Listen to Blasphemy, Mama's just a little girl, Hail Mary,White Mans World, Shed so many tears, Who do you believe in, and many others, you can't go wrong with Tupac.
This makes me miss old school rap! It was about life, the struggles, and how they prevailed! Nothing like today's rap! It's a shame we don't have artists like this anymore
That is his real mother and yes she was in prison all of that time she was facing 150yrs she defended herself She was part of the black panthers he was in prison when they released this album
I can’t believe why so many black people don’t know this song… this was popular back in the day in the 90’s in a small tiny ass island in the Pacific.. when I say small it’s only a tiny dot on the world map and yet 2pac was known… I love the reaction tho cause this is a REAL NICE song with so much depth.. P.S I know the the lyrics from the heart ❤
You have to understand he wrote this song before he went to prison he thought he die there so he wanted his mother to know exactly how he felt and what she ment to him
Just surfing..it's hard listening to this song. my mom passed while I was hustling and running with the wrong crowd..she kicked me out of the house..I left and didn't look back..I'm grown now..no more jails or prisons..sometimes I wonder if she's proud of me
This song changed my life my mom was amazing but my dad was killed in 94 I felt so bad I wasn't upset I ain't know him. For two years my 10 year old self felt like a bad person. Then this song came out and I was like I'm not the only one who didn't feel for their dad. I wasn't a bad person. I named my son after this man
Just seeing your reaction now. I suggest you read up on Tupacs mum, Afeni, she was an activist and a Black Panther. This song and video are truly epic.
Brenda's got a baby, Teardrops and closed caskets, Soulja story are some of his other story telling songs. P.s. the video for Dear Mama was made while he was in prison
This is one of the first songs he came out with one of his first or second albums. It was just a big hit if you really want to listen to something you should really listen to him either on hit him up or my fav gotta keep your head up let me know if you do
His pops is still alive, Billy Garland. We do that when we been abandoned as kids, ninja dead to me!😞 The Makaveli album has a song called White man’s world! Deep
This is what hip hop is missing there is no one that speaks like this
90s n 2000s was something else man... we will neva see something like this again
@mralfonzohoward5175 yes!
This song was not recorded before he died, in fact it got released while he was in prison..from the album “Me Against The World” that made Pac the first rapper in history to debut an album #1 billboard..while sitting in prison!!!

Brenda's Got A Baby might be the saddest song I've ever heard. Hit's so hard

Nothing like the old school, 2Pac's dedication to the MC's who inspired him to pick up the MIC.

He wrote this song before he went to jail he was locked up when this album came out and it went number 1 in the country.
Changes and Smile

He wrote this particular song when he was in prison that's why video clips from a previous video were used.
