    This is a pretty solid little workbench. While once you figure out how it comes together, it is physically Easy to assemble th-cam.com/users/postUgkxyFZUPFEey-PuqsPMxqaykBhgA1LWxFHh by yourself. But the diagrams explaining the steps are really pretty bad. I could not get the handle pins in all the way despite multiple attempts, so I just used a screw I had on hand for the 2nd handle. I could not get the first pin in further or pull it back out. You are supposed to hammer it in, but I had no leverage and the handle is plastic and I did not want to risk breaking it. I will get a lot of use out of the bench because of the convenient size and height. It does fold up nicely for storage. They even explain how to fold it so you don't get pinched...that is important!

    Some great ideas in this. Like incorporating bolts into the pieces for strength.

    • @casadioDesign
      @casadioDesign 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I also did the same in my 3D printed drone. Very usefull depending on the printing orientation!

    • @DJustmusicMusic
      @DJustmusicMusic 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yeah although in this example it will not really add much strength. Incorporating bolts would help with tensile/bending loads but these are all in compression. You are basically still relying on the plastic to keep the center bolt in place after which the load gets distributed mostly through the plastic onto the table and not through the bolts. The point of failure for this part would probably be somewhere around the bolts actually (although with a table you are no where near the limit even with heavy things placed on it). If you were to print this with 100% infill it would be just as strong in compression probably (note I'm only talking about the blue part, the grey is in bending when the table is tilted but the loads will be limited of course with a tilted table). For other projects though with a bending load this would be a very interesting design!

    10/10 design! Love the little details like the small slots cut out for centering on the wood and the bolt inserts for strength.

    When doing screw holes. Cover your screw hole with the same height of your layer height, creating a bridge which will negate the use of support in almost any hole. Then punch your screw through that bridge and voila :)

    • @Prof.Polymath
      @Prof.Polymath 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not quite picturing this ?

    • @mophie6941
      @mophie6941 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Prof.Polymath Normally when doing hole, it will try and do hole diameter + # of perimeter, which basically try to print in the air ( often this apply to hole with another hole for the screw head ). By covering the screw hole with the smallest layer you can ( layer height ) the slicing software will " ignore" the hole for one layer and make a bridge ( bridge automatically overlap to be able to print in the air). You are basically using the bridge as a support, which save ton of printing time and material.
      Use your slicing software to see what the layer will look like, you will probably understand it better visually.
      I hope I haven't made it even more confusing :s

    Круто! Синий кронштейн можно тупо на боку напечатать. Не придется усиление делать. или печатать как сейчас но крепление к столу сделать сквозное через стойки. Для усиления простых винтов/болтов M3 достаточно. Большего размеры болты практической цели не имеют.

      Okay then, where is your better solution? If you are going to complain that it's "dreary" then at least have something to back it up. Dreary isn't even specific as it means depressingly dull and bleak or repetitive. This design isn't depressingly dull and bleak or repetitive (in the sense of dreary which would mean like a week of rain).
