Please note this isn't reconstructed historical music, it's modern folk music. The Epic Byzantine Music series is a musical project where I explore various sounds from the ethnomusicological ecosystem of modern traditional music, using sounds from modern folk traditions as they are today as a framing device for themes pertaining to the history of the Eastern Roman Empire.
I thought the first one was fine, but the fact that you went out of your way to change the song, altering the flow of the music just for the sake of historical accuracy is impressive and speaks volumes of your integrity and dedication to immersion. You've earned my respect.

Thank you for yet another masterpiece, Farya :) I absolutely love your Byzantine music! That's not to say that your other tracks are bad-they are just as incredible!-but your Byzantine tracks in particular speak to me on another level. Here's hoping you will keep making them :)
There is no "mix" between these two. The Byzantine music is the evolution of ancient Greek music. Same goes for modern Greek music where you can catch the byzantine style even in Skyladika.
@@ΒάγγοςΑμάραντος "Byzantine" music is actually a mix between Syrian, Jewish, Greek and Perian melodies. In a sense, it is "Hellenistic". Music of the later Roman Empire of the eastern provinces.

@@faryafaraji wow can you upload these medieval 2 files, i would like to have these tracks too ..also thanks for creating this version of the polychronion i was looking for it for long time
@@wiseguygr Actually it's really is to swap the files yourself: just download my songs into mp3 files and then go into the Medieval 2 folder on your computer. You'll find a folder called "music" and then sub-folders for the campaign music, battle music, etc. So if you want this song as a battle song for example, literally just copy paste one of the names of the battle file songs, rename Polychronion with that name, then copy and paste it in the battle music folder. It'll replace the original song in the game, and will play in its stead :p

Much like a few others here I prefer your original version, and am happy that you've managed to find it again. I understand why you reuploaded it and respect your adherence to Greek/Byzantine singing tradition, but the new singing sounds too dissonant when put together with the instruments. They just don't _fit_ together, if you know what I mean. Otherwise, mad respect to you and your work Farya. You're a very good composer/singer and I wish you all the best.
They called it Romaeic during the Middle Ages, which means Roman. To the eastern Romans, "Hellenic" language was Attic Greek, while the vulgar Greek language was known as "Roman".

Very nice production. Each time, when I hear this masterpiece, I get realised in a strange way that the Vladimir I, appeared as a Byzantinan King on the photo with different light effect, reminds me of a Turkish actor Uğur Polat in his young best years (not his actual physical appearance!). Probably Basileos I., also looked indeed due to primitive frescoes in that way. So I think that the concept of reincarnation makes a really big sense in due to the explained phenomena and meaning of life.
