Another detailed, practical, and informative video--thanks! I am surprised about the wide use of "usted." I'd been told in the US that most Spanish speakers *don't* use usted that much and stick to "tu" as default, but I guess Ticos are different.
I am sure many folks in the US would say that! Millions of Central Americans, especially Mexicans who make up a huge # of Spanish-speaking folks you would meet, use tú. To be clear, you *do* occasionally hear both tú and another Spanish informal form, "vos." But especially in Guanacaste, you would hear parents using it to chastise their kids, or between married couples, and most adults interacting in public stick to usted. Thank you for the positive feedback and for watching!
Are there options, service to pay some of these bills on line? Thru online banking? Bill payments thru a banking app? For water, hydro electric, tax’s etc?
Thanks for watching and yes Chris, there are options! I am personally only familiar with Banco Nacional's system, which allows you to pay most taxes, utilities etc. online. I think Banco de Costa Rica will also allow you to do it.
Thank you Matt for all you do.
Thank you for watching, I really appreciate it!
