Spent a long, hot and humid summer in 1990 taking lessons in an old 150. I’m 5’10” and 200lbs and my instructor was 6’2” and around 225. Everything we did was in slow motion 😀

In somewhere around 1969 I stalled a C-150 at ~ 50 feet while landing - on purpose. I had just returned from overseas and was getting my recurrent flight done by my instructor at the Beale AFB aero club. When turning from downwind to base at 800' my instructor bet a cup of coffee I couldn't land on one of the lines across the runway (12,001'x300') which was almost directly under us. On base I stalled the a/c and got down to ~200 feet but wasn't going to make it. I turned on final and at ~50' I pulled it back into a stall and it went down - straight down. Good thing the ole C-150 had the really strong spring landing gear. He just said "you didn't need to crash the a/c to win a cup of coffee."

    I enjoy flying my 150. It’s a 64 D model.

Excellent episode Christy and Baylee. It's great to see Baylee and Kevin back on the show. My flying club has a 152. I folded myself into it one day and quickly decided they are a no-go for me. At 6'4" I felt like a gorilla riding a toddlers tricycle. 😂 Thank you to Kevin for the history of the 150. Keep up the excellent work. Safe skies my friends 🇺🇸🛩️

The C150 aerobat has the same struts as the C182 of that era.
This is a link to a Cessna promo film about the aerobat:

Leanred to fly in a 152. Great little airplane, though tight. I doubt we were ever under gross, but it flew well.
