Ya know, through the second period, at 4-2, i thought the Rangers were mostly dominating the game, despite all the Florida pp's.
Every game is so tight, there's little room for error and you can't take anything for granted. Give credit to Florida for clawing their way back into this one in the 3rd.
Ultimately, we gotta be happy we got it done in OT.

I mean it was relatively even until the 3rd. They played their best hockey and still couldn’t beat us with Mika, Panarin, Kreider, etc. doing jack squat. Our PP has been nonexistent as well. Once we get some of this going then we should be in better shape.

I am going to give him a pass since he is obviously not 100%, but I can't give a pass to Trouba, Gustafsson, K'Poke and at times Schneider. Lindgren was the only D man that actually played well.
Yeah I’d be open to sitting Fox at this point. Trouba and Miller had a BAD game and I’d break them up again. Gus and Lingren are playing very well

Never seen so many deflections within 2 periods. Both teams know only way to beat the ither goaltender is to snipe top shelf when they drop down or to deflect past them. That Wennberg shaft deflect was Jedi-like.

Jon....what about adding Rempe to PP1 and swapping Lafreniere for Panarin?....Rempe was great screening Bob and tying up the Panthers defenseman on Goodrows first goal. Kreider and Rempe down low....that would be a handful for Panthers penalty kill
Zibanejad is a lot like Messi. I'm not saying he is the goat, but that he moves on the ice like Messi on the soccer field. He kind of sneaks around and moves slowly and then strikes. He's almost always subdued so he never looks like he is full of energy, which doesn't mean that he isn't doing something. He had an OK game, but he needs to get some better offense on net. Kreider has been mostly neutralized and hasn't had any great chances in the series. Panarin had a rough game. A few shots with not everything on it. A few whiffs that lead to turnovers. All 3 need to be a bit more on their game, but I'm sure it isn't easy against the Panthers. Thank you Igor and the other guys for stepping up huge.
First game one team majorly outplayed the other for the most part yet the Rangers somehow steal one anyway. It could be 3-0 Panthers, but it could be 3-0 Rangers also. It makes more sense that the series is 2-1 for either team, but the Rangers definitely pulled one out in this one. I thought for sure that Igor was going to let one in late in the third because no one could survive that onslaught. It takes a huge mental and physical toll to keep making saves with shots coming from every place on the ice, even when they are getting blocked. He had to keep moving, changing position, getting down, going up and constant chances and puck movement in close. Somehow he stood tough and the Rangers survived that 3rd period dominance from the Panthers.

The narrative that the rangers are special teams merchants and it’s the only way we win is being shut down on the biggest stage. We’re up 2-1 being 0fer on the PP and 7 for 11 on the pk. There’s room for improvement there and if those 2 things click in the coming games this series maybe very short.
We have new stars but the old stars a little dim.
It’s more that our new stars aren’t being matched up against tougher lines. I frequently see at least two defenders near Panarin at all times. Also Fox when he’s in the O-zone. But you can only take away so much, and it’s great to see other players step up.
No mention of the delayed penalty called on Lafreniere’s second goal, or the lopsided calls all game
Fox must be hurt. His skating is lethargic. Miller is just brutal. 6'4 215 and refuses to take body and punish anyone in D zone. His stick is not stopping Bennett, Barkov and Tkchuk taking puck to net.
Was at game. Ziba-Kreids-Chytl should be demoted to line 3. Saying this line is a dissapointment is an understatement. Ziba should not take a D zone faceoff rest of series. Kreids plays so small. Same size as Barkov and nowhere to be found offensively or defensively. Chytl skating out of zone on 4th goal and let's Forsling come right slot and score.

They have to play a complete solid game to have a chance.
Bread is getting mugged every time he touches the puck and cannot move without someone on his back hopefully he breaks out and nets a few, I feel like if he or Mika score one they will score 5. I like Ray Ferraro but the rest not so much and this interviewing the coaches during the game, I mean what do you think they are going to say? Panthers have ro be totally frustrated, they have out played us pretty much the entire series and are behind. I feel like they are going to get desperate soon and make some mistakes.
So basically 3 tight games? Don't see it changing. You could see by all the player's faces on all 4 teams left, toughest trophy 🏆 to win.
It was another great game, especially considering the Panthers really had a good 3rd, and we battled shitty refs all night. Really seemed like the refs took every opportunity to give pp's to Florida in this one, and stingy the other way around.

PP is not crisp. Too much puck holding not enough quick passing. All their heads are on a swivel not to get hit. They look intimidated by Panther defenders.
Remove Mika, and putt laff on pp1. Maybe that will jumpstart Mika. Mika has been terrible.
