    This kid could be good. Very surprised he fell to last in the draft. Quick release, today’s typical NFL size, elastic arm, has more guts than most starters as of now and is pretty accurate. He throws off platform and from different arm angles, very quick release, great upper and lower body disassociation and finished with his weight back with a sudden stop of upper body rotation that leads to balanced squared shoulders. All the things we see in Rodgers, Mahomes and Allen. We will have to see about the elite arm strength though, not enough situations yesterday to really tell yet. I saw this in him 2 years ago at Iowa State and was very impressed. He also has all those weapons and a championship caliber D.

Do you cry in the morning when you realize that reality didn’t go your way? How much real estate did Brock own in your head last year for you to write over 7 negative comments about him?
      I’m really interested to know your thoughts on Brock today! Is he still taking up a lot of space in that head of yours? Does the real estate he owns in your brain include an ocean front view? That last play he had a man wide open 10-15 yds past Kittle. Shanahan and the weapon on offense are some serious ammunition for Purdy to work with. If he can be accurate, efficient, and be able to deliver with his quick release then thats enough for the 49ers to beat any team lined up against them. Super Bowl is still in the cards for this team.

    It's not unheard of for someone that's picked so late in the draft to be an NFL starter caliber quarterback. This kid appears to have all the tools for just that

    • @MattSeesGray
      @MattSeesGray 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ehhhh I dunno how true that is. Any QB picked that late and turns out to be a legitimate QB is definitely an outlier. Sure, you can argue Tom Brady or Montana. But Brock Purdy is the first Mr. Irrelevant to ever throw a touchdown. By that statistic alone you could argue that quarterbacks taken that late are usually NOT nfl caliber starters. You have a couple UFA that ended up being decent to good. Warner, Moon, Garcia, and Romo come to mind. So while you’re right that it’s not UNHEARD of, the odds are incredibly low.
      All that said, I hope Brock is the next goddamn Tom Brady. I hope he lights up teams for the rest of the season and I hope he can make a legitimate playoff/Super Bowl run. Would definitely be the Cinderella story of the year, especially with all the quarterback drama coming into the season. All three of our quarterbacks will have contributed to a Super Bowl shot. You gotta love seeing something like that play out.

    Typically when the backup comes in they are amped on adrenaline making big plays. The next couple of games with time to think they start to come back to earth. That didn't happen with Brock. If he doesn't get hurt in the NFC Championship, who knows. Maybe the Eagles still win but I suspect it would have been a lot closer.

That’s one of the shortest tenures for a guy that took that team to the SB maybe the shortest ever. And he would miss wide open guys at 10 yards constantly. When he couldn’t run or have a open deep threat he was very easy to maintain from a DC perspective. Numbers don’t lie, film don’t lie.

I watched his rise and fall in real time. There’s no narrative just me actually watching unfold in real time. He got figured out and shut down by NFL defenses and couldn’t adapt his game to another level like elite qbs do. He had his strengths and if he couldn’t play to them he couldn’t win. Watched multiple games where he couldn’t see the field and would just throw checks and flats all game long and end every drive in punts. I didn’t read about this or hear it in a bar, I watched it happen.

No...can he manage the game and impress you a little bit? Yea...plus the guy got some dog in him and he ain't scared they where blitzing the hell out of him
