Want to know how have you kept bacterial colony alive of the existing canister filter?.Initial amonia spike and frequent water changes for first month is tiring, can you adopt dark start method? Mean fill the aquarium with water, add bacteria ,put cover all side of glass and run the filter for 42 days, then drain water and start planting.Convey your thought of pros and cons. Keep in mind summer is approaching, you will not get the same growth of TC plants like winter.My aquascape is also one year old, i sent picture. Based on your thought I may plan rescaping also.

TDS for planted tank water should be in the range 80 to 120, if source water TDS in your area is high and there is bleaching in municipal area water then best is to add RO water (tds 20-30) then add minerals beneficial to aquarium

I have done this with some difficulties, shift your fish and water (atleast 50%)to a spare tank with running filter(2nd hand aquarium available at fish shop cheap), then wipe dry your aquarium, fill hardscape soil step by step, add ADA SUPER4.if you have old filter with biomedia then run the setup for seven day, if you don't have then buy oxygen pump for your spare fish tank and shift the running filter here, don't add fish now ,run for seven days ,check amonia then add your existing fishes in the planted setup.one problem will be your fishes may eatup baby plants, so best is running the setup for one month ,let's plants grow then add fish.in this one month you have to arrange for their life support system in the spare tank

Please use some limnopholia aromatica in the background, it will grow out of water, and if you use solar RGB it will look awesome, and you can use pogostemon helferi in one of the gap

We are running a our filter in another tank. The dark start method and 42 days is waste of time when you can add bacteria and run the filter

My neon tetra is loosing it's colour but iam using high quality food and and perfect water parameters
Watch if neon tetras have stress from other tankmate and also change in temperature
Check the water temperature and observe if its under stress
Even i have added a layer of sand in my scape and i clean it every week still i find alge growth on it, any solution i can stop it?
