    About Sheepdog Response:
Sheepdog Response was founded by Green Beret, Special Forces, Sniper, and former top 5 UFC Middleweight, Tim Kennedy. Tim was also the co-star of Hunting Hitler on the History Channel, and more recently, Hard To Kill, on the Discovery Channel.
People face threats of violence every day, ranging from large-scale terrorism to one-on-one assaults. Most people are unprepared, unequipped, and untrained to respond effectively. This weakness in the flock allows the wolves to attack with great ease and success.
The answer is not more laws. The wolves don’t follow them. We must give the good guys the tools they need to effectively respond to violence. The more Sheepdogs we can train to be truly ready to respond to a mass shooting, terrorist attack, violent mugging or home invasion, the better the chances are that the bad guys will get what they deserve and the good guys will survive. Most people sign up for martial arts or weapons training expecting to learn realistic self-defense, and few get it…
We have developed a curriculum that addresses the skills you need to successfully respond to threats

Ooda loop is all in the brain. Nothing to do with physical movements..
IV Take seriously any idea that orients a thought.
How would Boyd orient his body inside a cockpit?
      You're teaching ooda loop wrong!!
Ooda loop is important to know because you can do things ahead of time to speed up ooda loop..like repetitive training and have limited options.
Learning ooda loop is to be faster not to do ooda by the letters lmao

Joules 13 Tim Kennedy’s policy’s are good. Theirs other videos all over TH-cam where he tells people if you can leave a confrontation or remove yourself from a violent situation then do it. He’s obviously speaking on a situation where you have determined the only way out is through confrontation. Just my opinion. TK is a very smart dude and very efficient at what he does

The "orient" part of the OODA loop does not refer to orienting the body towards a threat. That would be the "act" part. The orient part of OODA loop means to comprehend what you are observing. Based on how you comprehend what is observed you decide what action is required and then you act.

Not real but in cod i never stay focused a 100% on the red dot / iron sights im looking and slightly moving around then i see the target move my sights to it and shoot wow Ive never thought of that with training should be so similar. Whats weird is in my mind im thinking if im not in my sights im dead only to find out i do better if im looking and then reacting to a threat thanks tim great stuff.

My dad once shot a boar with his .54 cal Hawkins muzzle loader. We had to walk 200 yards to retrieve it. When we cleaned it the heart and lungs looked like grape jelly. Insane what adrenaline can do.

So these aimbot drills we see Trex arms doing - they look like they are holding their sight picture as they turn but they seem pretty fast, so I guess they are probably directing their eyes first and bringing their gun and body into line with that new sight picture, correct?

  • @TheRealOriginalDiegoM

Bud Day created the OODA loop. It’s why we were so successful in the Gulf War. It goes deeper than what Tim describes. You’re essentially anticipating the enemies action and reacting then anticipating their reaction to that and planning your action

    • @Chameleox
      @Chameleox 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Pretty sure it was Col. John Boyd. Everything I’ve read about it points to him. Ref. ORIENT, as much as I like Tim, he’s technically not correct. What Tim is describing is a course of action (turning towards a threat) that comes after a decision to engage. You can’t make that motion until you’ve DECIDED to engage; the decision could just as likely be to run, submit, or seek cover, all of which might suffer by squaring off.
In Boyd’s loop, ORIENT means to juxtapose the raw data coming in with your interpretation of same- what cops call “training and experience”. Example: is a fist coming towards you a punch or a fist-bump? ORIENT makes the call, and provides the threat assessment for the punch as well as a rundown of your restraints and constraints. Then it goes to DECIDE, where if counterattack is selected, you might turn to face. If Fleeing is selected, you might turn away.
Back to Tim’s example: Observe (gun pointed at me)- Orient (guns can hurt me and this guy is not an associate of mine. He’s also yelling, threatening, shooting, etc. this is bad)- Decide (I can easily beat him to the shot, my skills are solid, and my legal understanding tells me that I’m good)- Act (make my move and re-evaluate as opponent reacts to me).
This comes from my reading and experience. A lot of people get this wrong, because it’s frequently discussed in the context of a fight, and the word ORIENT kinda cheats people into thinking about a facing movement. Just my 2 cents.

I would HIGHLY recommend that while training you do NOT shoot something "until it's dead." If this is how you think and speak it WILL come out in a trial should you ever have to defend yourself.
You shoot to STOP THE THREAT; which MAY mean killing and may not! If the threat is down AND NOT ABLE to be a threat to you then the threat is stopped.
If the threat is down, full of holes, bleeding out and still able to harm you, the threat is NOT stopped!
