Emacs purist here. No need to apologize. You are doing all the right things to get productive and that's what really matters. Glad you found the best way for you to leverage all the Emacs goodness right away! All the best! I'm a fan already and rooting (sp?) for you!
It is game changing when each sentence has to stand on its own - your tone gets more active and you vary sentence length much more often. Highly recommend!
Do you use org roam to keep notes on characters, places, world building, plot points etc..? I want to write a fiction novel, and am looking for functionality similar to scrivener.
I have never written fiction, but I don't see why you couldn't use it to like between characters and their relationships, locations, etc. Emacs can be really whatever you want to make it. www.masteringemacs.org/article/how-to-write-a-book-in-emacs is a decent resource.
I may one day in the future go and re-write my config in vanilla emacs, but doom does make it so easy! I don't use that many packages though, on my installation I have over 440 that are loaded at startup.
The thing is I write stuff like this in roam. I write too but i have entries in my roam directory and tag it for classification. I frequently write notes on my writing to imrprove as I go. I need my notes to be in my roam dir so I put my writing stuff there too.

I struggle with making spaghetti sentences and your approach whit 1sentence=1line is mind-blowing for me and I will definitely steal it!

Welcome back!!
Missed it! Hope you're doing well!

What font are you using? Looks like Arial, but I'm not quite sure...
It's source code pro, when you go into the zen-mode, I'm not 100 percent sure what font is displayed though!

and what a book! . curious: is it out yet? (- I hit the ‘get the book’ button, providing my email, but nothing has arrived in my inbox)
It should be in your inbox now, check your spam, if not, feel free to send me an email!
@@JoshuaBlais it worked; I received the email with the link to the PDF; (and FYI it went into my inbox, not spam) . thanks!
@@rmschindler144 You are most welcome, I hope you enjoy the book!
What is the left column? projectile? A list of files on the current directory?
I believe he said it was treemacs, which can be easily found in doom's init.el file commented out by default.
I believe that is treemacs
I'm a "purist", but I think if I was starting out today, I'd just use doom or spacemacs. I can't switch right now though.

I've started using org-roam for all notes and writing as well, it is a fantastic system, and with emacs it is ultimate power!
@@JoshuaBlais certainly! Would love to look at your conf
I am interested in your org to latex to pdf flow and script.
Could you give me keywords?
I will make a video in the near future detailing this! Let me write something up, you can expect it in the next week or two!
I want to see your emacs config :)
I will do a vid on this!
You have a vibe of a gigachad
Cheers bro, God bless!
