I began following the PDGA tour last year just as the pandemic began. Yesterday while watching the live coverage I realized how invested I've become in this sport. 20 + years ago I played a bunch while living in Portland Or., but only sporadically since then. Now I'm pushing 50 and I might end up in physical therapy if I go out and start chucking it around. But I digress. I've loved sports my whole life. I grew up in western NY and was a Bills, Sabres, Yankees, and Celtics fan. I was 9 when the Yankees lost to the Dodgers in the World Series. I did not cry. I was 14 when the Celtics lost to the Lakers in the finals. No tears. A few years later I got to watch the Bills lose the big one 4 times in a row. I held it together. Fast forward to the early 2000's and the Yankees blow a 3 game lead in the ALCS. To the REd Sox no less. Dry eyed once again. (I mean it was about time they got one). When Ricky threw in on 16 I totally lost it for a minute. Hell I'm tearing up now just thinking about it. That's how much I love all you guys. There's no "villain" to root against. Great idea, but you have no idea how difficult that would would be on post-production, 12 hour turnaround coverage. Basically would take a dedicated person who's only job is to do that
Sure was and a great insight into his mentality. If you really think about what he says, he’s basically telling himself that his putting hasn’t gotten worse, all other aspects of his game have gotten better to the point of overshadowing his great putting ability. That’s clearly not true as he says himself that he’s been working on but even so, it’s an excellent way to not let yourself get down about losing some skill ability for a while
Wow...that moment Ricky drained the drop zone putt on 16...love how he starts running toward the crowd and the path, and just throws both hands out and people giving him all the love. What a beautiful moment for the guy. Love it!
as much as I've enjoyed seeing disc golf grow I will be very sad to see it become a big main stream sport. Uli helps keep it feeling like it's just a sport that you and your buddies go to play for fun.
Man, Calvin seems like the most unflappable player in the game so it was a bummer to see him get pretty flappy at the end. Still my favorite player on tour 👍🏼
That's great to hear! When I was growing up, we used to throw frisbees at tree trunks -- those were our baskets. Such a fun time! Perhaps you'd enjoy it too until disc golf baskets come to India
This was the best final round I’ve seen in a LONG time. The storylines make this bafflingly engaging! Love and congrats to everyone involved. The game is changing by the day now, and I love watching every second of it!!
I was really pulling for Calvin all tournament. It was sad to see him crack after consistently having such a strong mental game. Maybe next time. Still a fan. Congrats to Mcbeth he really wanted it. Great job as always Jomez and Crew. It takes a special courage to lose a loved one and still take second place on the big stage.

Every event, you guys step it up. The coverage was a joy to watch. The heartfelt segment for Ricky and his family was apropos without being overbearing, and they are genuinely loved. Getting to bookend the amazing play of the final round lead card with that and P McB's interview was better than watching live (which I also did). Big Sexy Bari lifted the bar even more, with Nate's cutting (trees?) wit, Jerm's good nature, and Uli's everyman timeless Primeguy goofs. Just the best. And Paul's win? Stellar. -42. We have the technology. You can slow down the video to .25 and see that it skips off the grass. Also, the crowd is right there and would tell them if it was in or not.
Nate, really great to have you back on coverage. The commentary was the right mix of covering the action and having a laugh. Big love for Jerm and Uli but sometimes it can get a bit silly and you keep them straight 😜. Jomez has by far the best graphics and I love having the current position on the scorecard. Would it be possible to name whoever has come through from the case card on the graphic. Would have been cool to see Paul quietly storm the leaderboard during round 3.
After having Ben Callaway on the card all tournament, I kinda miss the extra level of positive energy he brought to the coverage. Heck of a show this weekend, Jomez!
It's because Eagle is really self-obsessed and doesn't seem to care too much about the people around him. So it's hard to feel bad for him when he's mad. Kind of makes me cringe. You never hear him encouraging the other players throughout the round, like the other players do. Just sayin'.

For some reason it’s harder to watch Eagle mad than it is watching Nikko being mad
Nikko will get mad if the wind blows lol - Eagle doesn’t get mad for no reason so it hits different

It's because Eagle is really self-obsessed and doesn't seem to care too much about the people around him. So it's hard to feel bad for him when he's mad. Kind of makes me cringe. You never hear him encouraging the other players throughout the round, like the other players do. Just sayin'.
