I love this episode so much, the dynamics between the brothers are so fucking good to watch!! The power that Logan has over them is so huge that all it took was a box of donuts to make the three of them give up.
So idk if you guys picked up on it yet, it’s only been subtly referenced, but Logan had connors mom institutionalized when he was young. It’s part of why he’s the most “human” of the “human” of his siblings
@@kvm6 once, in the ten hour season. I think it’s okay for people to not get things on the first go round buddy. Especially since I’m season 1 Connor is constantly in the background to highlight that point, but the way the show plays it, it not “exactly” clear. I’ve talked to people who go the whole show thinking all the siblings are Logan’s real kids, that’s what great about the writing, it’s gives you the key to the lock, but doesn’t even tell you there is a lock.
@@cl4-tpgaming well Jaby and Achara already know that Connor was firstborn with different mom and my own comment on s2e Dundee blew that explicitly mentioned Connor's mother. Tiny spoiler Even then it is really spelled out in s4e3.
@@kvm6 ya, that’s my point. Having watched this as it was coming out, there was always confusion because of the nature of the show. Thanks for letting us know tho! Because Achara or Jaby have yet to bring it up in the post episode discussion on a single reaction.
Geri is general counsel, meaning she is who they go to for legal issues, so she knows where the bodies are buried. That's probably why Logan was worried about her.
Ken didn't suggest any other senior employee (like Frank, Karl, Gerri etc.) because he's always been of the opinion that they will take control away from the family. Shiv chose Logan's side because she doesn't want Ken to win. It should be either her or Tom. She is Logan's daughter and it was on her request (between s2e9 and s2e10) that Ken was even made a sacrifice. Her decision isn't affected by others siding with Logan. You can watch the Inside Episode of this show for bit more context if you want that for characters,
Shiv's decision was most definitely affected by others siding with Logan. They put a deep focus on Shiv's glance to Roman when he was answering if he would join or not, she just wanted to make the most logical decision for herself, and being the only one to side with Kendall wouldn't look good for her considering his past. They even mention it in the inside the episode. If she was being offered the CEO position, I could definitely see her taking that risk, so I still think her ego is playing a part in her decision, but here it seemed like the most prominent factor was how many people she would have on her side.
9:22 When Connnor arrives and tells Shiv and Roman that Logan is looking for them and Shiv replies. I know we’re here on his behalf. Connor were you even listening to Shiv? 😂
24:38 What Jaby is talking about here is something I think about especially after finishing the last season, those who have already finished Succession will understand me.
I doubt thats Shivs play here, it most certainly is other peoples but Shiv needs to go where the grass is greenest for her. She wont play inferior to Kendall or any of the siblings because she believes she is smarter or the best option. Shiv needs to lead, wont bow down to Kendall. Not because she thinks Logan doesnt lose, she actually did think he would in episode 1 hence why she discussed it with Roman, and as soon as Roman called her to say Gerri is Interim CEO she goes against Logan and right to Kendall.
@@shahriachowdhury9552 I mean it's also that but Jaby questioned why she thinks Logan is gonna win, because it's the track record. Kendall never wins, NEVER.
With the whole Gerri not backing Kendall in the vote of no confidence, i think you could already sense that it was a sinking ship, they didnt have the vote. Gerri also does not have any voting rights, she is just General Counsel to advise on Law and Regulations but I guess because she has become part of the furniture for Logan she is advising on all things business too.
he's suspicious of everyone AND also that "acting" ceo will be "too acting" they were picking someone as a figurehead so logan doesnt want her making her own moves without logan's knowledge
also i feel like it's obvious at this point that roman does love logan (regardless if he's the most vile person and also abuses him) he was there because while he loves logan and hates kendall for hurting their dad, he also worries and cares about kendall (see: austerlitz when theyre technically on the outs w each other after the vote of no confidence but roman still came to pick him up from that drug thing)
kendall does think he's doing the right thing is the thing. even tho the audience should see that its mostly bs cause it was about taking down his father more than it is about the victims - kendall was literally part of the cruises cover up
@@cammy11 aside from the fact talking to yourself is a sign of insanity, it’s fucking weird dude, just go make a Reddit post and write an essays. That’s why I care I’m worried about you, it’s not a normal thing to do, please seek help
While I love Kendall I think it is a bit of a stretch to ask the trust fo your family, after betraying your dad. And sure while it was justified, it still shows that Kendall is not bound by the family ties, he did lie to everyone about taking the blame and going to prison, and in a way he did screw everyone by exposing the company to this extent. So while inside I so wish the kids would get together, I must confess I d also not follow Kendall.
I still find it incredible that you're rooting for the villain of this show - Kandall 😳 Also what is even more amazing is that I have 180° different opinion about literally every single thing you say about this show and it's characters. Like, how it this even statistically possible? 😅
The rate at which you’re doing these succession reactions you’re going to lose a lot of loyal viewers. Not only are you going to forget a lot of the little things going on, but at this rate it’s going to take forever to finish the series. Just my opinion. Preparing ahead of time and making a schedule for your viewers goes a long way
After watching Succession the top three people I respect and cheer for are: Marcia, Ewan and Gerri. The top three people I disrespect and boo are: Tom, Shiv and Caroline. The top three people I despise are: Greg, Greg and Greg.
Impeccably acted though and starting point as a character was phenomenal. Also none of the sibs grow. Perhaps Roman the most, but to me it’s more of a realization of who he always was, which is a type of “growth.” They did debuff her intelligence/cleverness/strategic abilities, because I think they realized she needed more flaws.
Logan is concerned that Geri will do actions on her own instead of being a figurehead. Logan has always fought relinquishing any control.
The donuts were a brilliant way to send the massage to his kids that he knows they were conspiring behind his back
I love this episode so much, the dynamics between the brothers are so fucking good to watch!! The power that Logan has over them is so huge that all it took was a box of donuts to make the three of them give up.
Everybody loves Jess. She's the secret protagonist.
💯

"The God's must be crazy" was a very unique movie you might enjoy if you have not seen it yet.
Logan is always always focused on keeping power, Geri threatens him because she’s smart and knows where the bodies are buried
Jeri knows where the bodies are buried. She is incredibly dangerous.
