Tears streaming down my face for you, Ray and Martha. Praying for you and your children. Love in Jesus ❤️ I get the Voice of The Martyrs magazine. You are going through what our brothers and sisters in other countries are going through now. Blessings on you. I loved what you said at the end Ray. Thank you for sharing.
And everyone who has left houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or wifeor children or fields for my sake will receive a hundred times as much and will inherit eternal life. 30 But many who are first will be last, and many who are last will be first.
As an outsider living in a Lancaster County area amish community, this breaks my heart. I have watched my friend as she struggled with how to handle her daughter leaving the amish after being married in it, and I have also watched and listened as the community I live in has handled another young family leave as well. Maybe it is different here for a couple of reasons. One is that we had a very prominent member of the community take his life a few years ago, and then having Linda Stoltzfoos be kidnapped and murdered. Maybe this has softened some hearts around here. I have heard though the struggle as to how to handle it. How are we supposed to still love them and yet hold fast to what tradition says. All I can say is that I have lived here for 22 years now and I pray. I pray for my neighbors and for the community as a whole. I was able to be a part of the grief process with the widow of the man who died and the mom who's daughter who left the church is one of my closest friends and prayer partners. I am also very close to her daughter. I will share also that the Church as a whole is going through a shaking and refining. (meaning across all denominations). God is seeking those who will be faithful no matter what. He needs for us to be faithful and not grow bitter or angry so that when those who we love are finally wanting to repent, we are ready. I have a husband and two children who have left the faith altogether and so I know a bit of the pain of raising up your kids to a truth that they now deny. Anyway, I wanted to share this to encourage you to stay steady.... stay in His word... and listen for His voice alone. Be sure not to get caught up in any other religion again!
Amen. I'm praying too. I'm originally from Lancaster as well, and lived in Blue Ball and Strasburg in my childhood, among other places. I want to see them all come to saving faith, and I hate it that it breaks their community when they do.
That’s what it takes, someone wanted truth and searching for it by reading Gods word in a KJB, rightly divided. “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15 KJB
