    "ive been seeing someone" interesting choice of words

    • @CelticMudkip
      @CelticMudkip 4 ปีที่แล้ว +28

      Almost as if he's preparing her for something even worse. Being cheated on is terrible, but maybe he thinks it's a softer blow (as a former adulterer himself) than telling your loved one you're going insane like your father. Like... "Wait... He's cheating on me? Ok, well at least he isn't cheating on me. But hold up..."

    • @patrickomalley1667
      @patrickomalley1667 3 ปีที่แล้ว +23

      What's more interesting is that she instinctively knows he's NOT cheating. For all the flaws in their relationship, their was something profound to their connection with one another. A level of trust beyond logic or something

    • @Sheilaalien
      @Sheilaalien 3 ปีที่แล้ว +19

      @@patrickomalley1667 I don't think she instinctively knew he wasn't cheating on her until he mentioned the name of the dead woman. That's when she sat down and she realized something else was going on. But right after he says that he's seeing someone else, I was impressed by her calm and collective way of asking who he was seeing.. there was a mature confidence to it. Just a great scene.

    I so love how Leftovers ends off as a love story, I really couldn’t help early on rooting for these two here. Even amongst chaotic co-characters and subplots that were more than awe inspiring, I always came back to these two with very strong feelings that they were meant for each other. I loved their stories individually but as a pair I always wanted them to be and grow. Very interesting how all those years apart and still not a bit of love was lost between either of them. Kevin’s undying refusal to let go and Nora’s unwillingness to even contemplate the thought of anyone else. Brilliant!!!! And they didn’t have it so easy in their early stage, w Jill just being what any daughter would be towards it, I really love how graceful Nora was at dinner w Kevin Jill and Amy , that there told me she’s the one. And this scene may just be the finest of the entire show and not The Story of Kevin and Nora. My favorite music piece playing into the scene as if written specifically for this one scene....

    When I first saw this scene I expected the show to go back in a subsequent episode from Kevin's POV and show us how he got to this moment, but they never did. And somehow it makes it more poignant. You have to put the pieces together yourself from his previous episode and the moments he was in this episode, kind of in the background.

      Yeah, I love how this episode is all from Nora's POV and we only get glimpses that Kevin is having a bad day, struggling with fixing the wall while Patti is pestering him.
      And then it all culminates when Nora comes home after that fantastic scene with Erika and Kevin is waiting for her.

      @ricardogonzalez2594 5 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      On a literal level, it could have meant that Nora threw the stone because of what John did to Matt.
      On a metaphorical level, though, it could be a reference to that bible quote: "let him who is without sin cast the first stone".
      Since the episode revolved around the sense of guilt both characters were going through, Nora threw the first stone because she recognizes she's not guilty for what happened to her family and then Erika realizes she is not guilty either and then it was her turn to cast her own stone.

      Another explanation I found somewhere:
      Nora threw the stone to make the Murpheys think that the "departure" of the girls happened because of Johns doings in the town. The reason she wants them to think that is for them not to think that Evie departed because of them (like we see Erica does think). The reason she doesnt want them to think like that is that she herself wont have to think that her family departed because of her "lens" thing.

      She left him because she thought she was cursed. "Nora Cursed", as she calls herself. First her family disappears, then Evie disappears, then a guy from MIT says that she might be the cause (a 'lens'), then Erika confronts her, and now Kevin says he's seeing a ghost.

    I love how Nora is living her own story while co operating with Kevin so smoothly, an alpha woman or whatever, u could see her control over Kevin and it's just flawless man...best show ever

    I really got mad at Nora for up and leaving after this scene. You're supposed to be there for each other in a relationship even when the other is vulnerable and broken.
