The biochar being made from bamboo needs to remain in Ondia to be used to remedy local soils. The government needs to initiate a program to reach out to our farmers.
You're absolutely right! Bamboo biochar can improve local soils and benefit farmers. Instead of exporting it, the government should start programs to help farmers use it for better, sustainable farming.
During UPA raaj (2004 to 2014) the chinese with the help of sonia and gang cleverly ensured India does not classify Bamboo as a grass. Since 1927 it was classified as a "tree" and land owners/farmers had to take permits from corrupt local municipalities and the notorious forest department before cutting bamboo. This made the sector less attractive. The bamboo farm owners in India's North East were very unhappy with this act/classification. After BJP came to power in 2014, in December 2017, Government of India recategorized it as a grass and now it can be cut like "grass" without requiring any additional permits from local municipalities or from the bureaucratic forest department. China knows this very well and they wanted India to remain chained under that categorization as a tree. But Modi hai toh mumkin hai. Yahan bhi Modi government has silently played a major role. Lets give credit where it is due. Jai Hind! Vande Mataram!!

@@manishbanerjee9374 we have mentioned that in all our episodes. Do watch our previous episodes too :) The aim of this show is to talk about how bamboo is transforming every sector!!
Absolutely! Instead of exporting raw bamboo, focusing on creating finished products like furniture, decorative items, utensils, and other value-added goods can generate significant employment opportunities.
Very informative vlog...Best wishes..
Thank you so much for your kind words and encouragement! 🙏 You’re absolutely right! By focusing on enhancing the quality and finishing of bamboo products to match export standards, we can significantly boost their demand across all states in India. We truly appreciate your suggestion and will strive to bring more attention to this topic.

Yes, bamboo is in high demand in Himachal Pradesh, especially from apple growers who use it for poles to support anti-hail nets. It's a cost-effective and sustainable material that benefits both agriculture and local economies.
Absolutely agree with you! Instead of exporting raw bamboo, focusing on value-added products like charcoal, furniture, and decorative items can be far more profitable. It will not only enhance India’s global presence but also showcase our skills and creativity on an international level. Thank you for this valuable suggestion! 😊
You're right, but fresh bamboo is known for its high moisture content, making it less flammable. It’s always interesting how the properties of bamboo change depending on how it’s processed or stored! 😊
Bamboo for carbon sequestration. 👌 But bamboo roots are really invasive... We need to sequester carbon even in the soil to promote soil bacteria and help moderate the water cycle.

You're absolutely right! If bamboo is harvested and not properly processed, the carbon stored in it can be released back into the atmosphere. To truly sequester carbon, the bamboo needs to be used in a way that locks that carbon in, like through long-lasting products or biochar. Thanks for pointing that out! 🌱
