It smells fishy. Seeing that a claim has been made, you tube would had checked out the validity of that claim and then take further action else in this way anyone could straightup claim any video he wants to be taken down and it would be taken down.
The fact that You Tube took down the video on basis of a fake claim raises questions on the mindset of You Tube and involvement of any bigger party.
