I didn't even know Braff did directing. How rigid is the definition of "Movie Director" here? I think even though he has never done a feature film, Hideo Kojima has some amazing directing ability. Just look up a compilation of cutscenes from Ground Zeroes and MGS5 and tell me it doesn't rival any big name. *chefs kiss*.
We kept our definition down to directors in cinema so we can potentially give other directors their own spotlight down the road. But I agree Kojima's work is a master piece in its own right. I would like to see what would happen if he took a step into the film industry.
I really like Ari Aster. Hereditary was such a high mark that I am excited to see what he creates, to top himself.
