Hey everyone! Sorry for not responding to a lot of the comments, I've been neglecting this video for quite a while. I got this from Caity from aliexpress, i lost contact with her since so i cant link anyone with her. The emgs are fake, just passive pickups. Not 100% sure what i played this through, either Line 3 spider IV or through a computer interface/guitar rig. I do regret not spending the money on a ltd eclipse but it's all in the past now!
Bought a used mint cond ESP Eclipse i with EMGs 60 including hard case last year on eBay Australia for AUD $850. That was one of my fucking deals of century
The sad thing, in my opinion, is the Japanese ESP workers live for their craft. They spend 2 years in an ESP school before they are allowed to build an ESP for the consumers. Many employees opt to study even longer in the school to be really experienced. They then have to work in the ESP shop for 10 years, minimum, before they would even be considered to work in the Custom Shop. Every ESP employee that builds guitars is also a guitarist. They dedicate so much time to being exceptional luthiers. Then, people buy knock offs that jeopardise the brand they love. I am seriously lucky to own many ESP’s and LTD’s and am sure for many young guitarists the Chinese option is like the holy grail and sure they may look the part. However, whoever you buy a Japanese ESP you are buying an instrument that a team have nothing but perfection at heart and it’s their passion to build the best guitar for you to play, keep, and pass on as I have passed some of my ESP’s to my son. Support the company, if you can, by purchasing a guitar from their affordable range until you can buy the guitar of your dreams. I’m sure I will be slated for this comment but who gives a damn anyway.
"why dont you just save your money and buy a REAL esp?" maybe because most people who have average jobs that make 7.25 an hour and have kids and bills and car payments and shit like that cannot afford to buy a $2000 guitar that they will just play for an hour a day and just sit it down, jesus christ people what do you not understand.
If a person from those who mentioned is able to play his guitar alone even for a single hour a day then he is a lucky one.I would more say one hour every christmass and easter vacations.Man you are a clear viewer.
I know this video is old, I just wanted to see what was out there about the fake ESPs. I bought the white version of this not long ago because I just wanted to. Yes, it says Edipse just like the one in the video, it came with fake EMGs, has the same control cavity cutout as a Les Paul, and so on and so on. I put a bone nut on it, put in some Hetfield EMGs, leveled the frets, and set it up. Yes it stays in tune, yes it plays very nicely, and yes it fucking rocks like a metal guitar should. I have some very expensive guitars, a couple I've made from kits, and this one. What I'm discovering is that just because the guitar has a $2000 name on the headstock doesn't mean it's a better playing/sounding guitar than one of the cheaper ones with some nice components. I made a Les Paul out of a kit that actually sounds better than most Les Pauls I've played. I like having nice guitars as much as the next guy, but I'm also old enough and been around enough to know that every guitar is different, expensive or not. None of them sound the same and while I don't mind paying for a Gibson or ESP or (insert expensive name here), a guitar doesn't have to expensive to be badass. I probably wouldn't take a chance on another "ESP", but I do plan on building some more "cheap" guitars with nicer accessories. In closing, don't knock the cheap guitars until you've tried them. If you're a guitar snob and only want to spend $1000+ on a guitar, that's fine. Some of us have found out you don't have to spend an arm and a leg to get a nice guitar.

Also, the extremely cheap covers on the passive pickups. There's no 3rd compartment on the back of the guitar for the battery pack which means those are not active EMG pickups, which are also Gold plated on the ESP, not black. I just got one, electronics are solid, but the frets are rough and my strings sit high on the nut. A little sloppy around the nut as well. Some frets have rough ends But I think I can easily solve all the issues and have a great guitar. Passive emg pickups and the tone is amazing and still gets good chugging goin
i have the ltd ec1000 asb and its amazing guitar.compare to origin esp deluxe i didnt saw any different even at the sound. ec1000 best value for money guitar ever
+ArcDevErik rofl, there is a difference between a fake made in China and a JAPANESE made ESP, esp will last forever and the fake will last a year till electronics die. Every single material in the fake looks fine but is utter shit aswell.
Dude, This is a great video. Agree or disagree with the whole replica thing whatever, but you did a great job showing what the unboxing and how the guitar comes. Based on both your playing I would trust your opinion on these guitars. I would like to know how the guitar plays now? No battery for the "EMGs" and I also didn't see the actual truss rod or any way to adjust the neck for that matter. Not that I'm hating on the guitar, those are just my concerns about it, especially the latter
The cutaway is too narrow though. The original ESP guitar cutaway is more open. Nonetheless it's a good looking replica but definitely not a good investment I would rather buy an ESP LTD EC-256 the would cost pretty much the same but not counterfeit.
I have a couple of the Chinese LP's , Chibson's and they are pretty good guitars.That is a nice looking and sounding guitar,,, may have to look into one of these ,,.great upload Thanks
NIce guitar, but, looking to the neck and the design of the "flags" in the fingerboard, i see a bit difference but i don know how difference is. I just note a bit difference. I have a original LTD EC 256. So, i dont know how choice is better, a original LTD or a replica of the ESP. Anyway, i was surprised with the quality of this replica. Congrats...
I'm gonna be pissed the first time someone tries to sell me one of these and I feel bad for the people who are getting ripped off now BC they don't know what to look for to tell it's a counterfeit. I'm not questioning the quality but damn, why don't they just do their own thing and slap their own brand name on there and be done with it. Seriously kids, buy a real one used (LTD and ESP are damn close in fit and finish) and don't give these Communist a-holes your money for products that were perfected in the US, Korea and Japan.
ive just ordered a Taylor 614 ce, it was apparently shipped yesterday and the seller says 7-10 day delivery, i do in all honesty expect to be waiting the best part of a month, i just hope the quality is as good as that esp
If you stress them to have a proper quality check on the guitar they should do it for you no problem. Usually you can request random custom things as well
To everybody who says get LTDs, Not unless Ur getting the better LTDs like 1000 series or get the Delux..I have Guitars everything under the sun & usually in Multiples..I have Chinese Les Pauls & Real but I have several LTDs & Im A Big Fan! I have 1000 Delux Les Paul w/a Floyd Rose thats not heavy lik a Gibson but is outstanding with EMGs..Then I have 1001 Delux strat type body obviously Neck-Threw w/a Floyd Rose & It plays good like my USA Jackson Soloists, just doesnt feel as Custom Guitar Feeling as the Jacksons do But out of my 60++Guitars I have I like thos at the Top..I have Neck-Threw Strat body 401 w/a Floyd Rose & Neck-Threw 301 licensed Floyd, definitely the 301 is not like the 1000 Deluxe, But thers Big Difference In Price..I buy Guitars off Ebay alot & usually find Rockin Deal! I got Both 1000 Deluxe off Ebay & They were Mint Cond w/a hard case..My Chinese Les Pauls I got off people from Craigslist..Usually thos Guitars will be Modified by people here so IDH to spend the money Or worry abt Confiscation..Just figured id roll out some of my experiences with Guitars since I seem to have almost everything but PRS which are great Guitars I'm just haven't come across 1 yet for banging good price.....
Dude,go online and get a ESP/LTD Deluxe or 600/400 series,these chinese knockoffs are crap.You can spend a shitload of money for upgrades and it still will be crap,because the materials/hardware/electronics and craftmanship is TOTALLY SHIT!Or as an alternative get a PRS SE,Agile,Dean DBZ or Shecter,for a reasonable price you get a good guitar wich is actually worth upgrading.

You could probably save up and get an old ESP standard Eclipse from Ebay or Reverb someday. I mean, if the old "ESP" script on the headstock is that important to you, I know it is to me lol. Screw that "E-II" logo.
Its funny how my esp eclipse has the EXACT SAME serial number..... So not only they copy the guitar and brand but also the serial numbers??? this is becoming scary...

Final Fantasy it is. i think its worth the extra $100 for a real ltd (even if its used) instead of a chi s p. the ltd will have real emgs and most likely be made better, with better materials. who knows maybe they started to emphasize quality craftmanship in china where they make fake stuff.
I totally agree with you and same thing goes for strats as well. But Chibsons are completely different thing. I got mahogany body and maple top Les Paul for $200 then install SD pickups. It's just awesome. There is no way to get a used Gibson for this price.

fatkidsluvcake95 The pickups are actually decent active pickups, there were a few minor marks on the body.. But nothing that concerned me. In fact i believe these pickups have a nicer tone than my Ibanez RG with USA EMG 81's.. Seymour duncans would be nice on this guitar.

In what deluded world are only US guitars real? This IS a fake, but not because it's not US made. ESP is Japan made. So are some of the best guitars in the world - like Fujigen, Tokai Gakki, Navigator (made by ESP), Bacchus, Momose, Crews, etc. Gretsch currently has their pro line guitars manufactured by Terada, a Japanese elite factory that also made guitars for Fender Japan
thing is, a lot of these guys that do this have several fake guitars. You could get a REAL one for the cost of all the fake ones. Buying cheap, fake shit is a downward spiral. Don't do it.

It don't matter who was the seller, they change the names all the time to keep things moving, so what you have to do is do a little research on the app and from there look the guitar you like and contact the seller, make a lot of questions about it, look at the seller reviews and transactions..and hope for the best... that's it

how do you think that the neck profile of these guitars compares to an ibanez? I realize ibanez guitars have the thinnest necks but is the neck on this guitar WAY thick?

No, those are not EMG's. They are passive with a shItty cover over them. ESP's have 3 compartments on the back of the guitar and one of them is for the battery pack for the active pickups and this guitar did not have a battery pack on the back of it. I just don't understand why these people don't just buy a used LTD EC-1000 from Guitar Center for $500 rather than dealing with any of this fake bullshit.
Chief Shredman LTD's have 3 compartments on the back. This guitar is a cheap copy of a real ESP standard series eclipse-ii which does not. Trust me, I own one. They just stuff the 9v battery in the main compartment with the potentiometers.
Hmmm... My EC-1000, and ESP Eclipse (not the new E-II models they replaced mine with) both have 3 compartments, how lazy that they just stuff them in like that now.
They did it because a lot of people complained about the extra cavity being cutout for the battery affected the tone and weight of the instrument. There are also a lot of people (myself included) that replace the EMGs, and this way there's not an extra hole cutout for a battery you aren't using. They also supply you with a bridge post ground inside the guitar for passive pickups (EMGs don't use it). I don't think it's a big deal about the extra hole and the cover either way, but people always like to complain about things lol
Nice rip-off-EMG rip-off-Epiphone pick-ups LOL + that nut glue is a real let down. Glad you seem to have got a good fake (the one I had in my workshop recently was real bad). Get some real EMG's in that man and it's gonna sound a lot better ;)

Everything looks nice on that. I do notice though that the "Eclipse" on the headstock looks an awful lot like "Edipse"
why not just get an LTD that looks basically identical to and ESP Eclipse but actually sounds good and uses quality materials

Chief Shredman ESP Eclipse doesn't have a battery compartment. The battery is stored with the volume/tone knobs.

Black 3M bondo paste over the 2 holes will fix that perfectly. Especially considering the guitar doesn't have a lacquer.
For the money it was worth it , it's good quality and sounds nice

the only complaint with mine is the tuners, theyre crap but they still work well enough, just really cheap
it took a month and the tracking is useless, i order loads of stuff off aliexpress with very few issues

I have 1000 Delux Les Paul w/a Floyd Rose thats not heavy lik a Gibson but is outstanding with EMGs..Then I have 1001 Delux strat type body obviously Neck-Threw w/a Floyd Rose & It plays good like my USA Jackson Soloists, just doesnt feel as Custom Guitar Feeling as the Jacksons do But out of my 60++Guitars I have I like thos at the Top..I have Neck-Threw Strat body 401 w/a Floyd Rose & Neck-Threw 301 licensed Floyd, definitely the 301 is not like the 1000 Deluxe, But thers Big Difference In Price..I buy Guitars off Ebay alot & usually find Rockin Deal! I got Both 1000 Deluxe off Ebay & They were Mint Cond w/a hard case..My Chinese Les Pauls I got off people from Craigslist..Usually thos Guitars will be Modified by people here so IDH to spend the money Or worry abt Confiscation..Just figured id roll out some of my experiences with Guitars since I seem to have almost everything but PRS which are great Guitars I'm just haven't come across 1 yet for banging good price.....
Dude,go online and get a ESP/LTD Deluxe or 600/400 series,these chinese knockoffs are crap.You can spend a shitload of money for upgrades and it still will be crap,because the materials/hardware/electronics and craftmanship is TOTALLY SHIT!Or as an alternative get a PRS SE,Agile,Dean DBZ or Shecter,for a reasonable price you get a good guitar wich is actually worth upgrading.

Final Fantasy it is. i think its worth the extra $100 for a real ltd (even if its used) instead of a chi s p. the ltd will have real emgs and most likely be made better, with better materials. who knows maybe they started to emphasize quality craftmanship in china where they make fake stuff.
I totally agree with you and same thing goes for strats as well. But Chibsons are completely different thing. I got mahogany body and maple top Les Paul for $200 then install SD pickups. It's just awesome. There is no way to get a used Gibson for this price.
I don't understand getting a replica of that guitar when you get get a used LTD ec-1000 for $500 and you KNOW it will be of kickass korean quality, good wood, and no fuck ups.

fatkidsluvcake95 The pickups are actually decent active pickups, there were a few minor marks on the body.. But nothing that concerned me. In fact i believe these pickups have a nicer tone than my Ibanez RG with USA EMG 81's.. Seymour duncans would be nice on this guitar.

In what deluded world are only US guitars real? This IS a fake, but not because it's not US made. ESP is Japan made. So are some of the best guitars in the world - like Fujigen, Tokai Gakki, Navigator (made by ESP), Bacchus, Momose, Crews, etc. Gretsch currently has their pro line guitars manufactured by Terada, a Japanese elite factory that also made guitars for Fender Japan

It don't matter who was the seller, they change the names all the time to keep things moving, so what you have to do is do a little research on the app and from there look the guitar you like and contact the seller, make a lot of questions about it, look at the seller reviews and transactions..and hope for the best... that's it
If you find a a seller that you fell comfortable buying and doesn't have the guitar, ask for it and send him picture and I'm sure they'll get it done

No, those are not EMG's. They are passive with a shItty cover over them. ESP's have 3 compartments on the back of the guitar and one of them is for the battery pack for the active pickups and this guitar did not have a battery pack on the back of it. I just don't understand why these people don't just buy a used LTD EC-1000 from Guitar Center for $500 rather than dealing with any of this fake bullshit.
Chief Shredman LTD's have 3 compartments on the back. This guitar is a cheap copy of a real ESP standard series eclipse-ii which does not. Trust me, I own one. They just stuff the 9v battery in the main compartment with the potentiometers.
Hmmm... My EC-1000, and ESP Eclipse (not the new E-II models they replaced mine with) both have 3 compartments, how lazy that they just stuff them in like that now.
They did it because a lot of people complained about the extra cavity being cutout for the battery affected the tone and weight of the instrument. There are also a lot of people (myself included) that replace the EMGs, and this way there's not an extra hole cutout for a battery you aren't using. They also supply you with a bridge post ground inside the guitar for passive pickups (EMGs don't use it). I don't think it's a big deal about the extra hole and the cover either way, but people always like to complain about things lol
PS mine is an ESP standard series Eclipse from the early 2000's so they might have changed what they are doing since then anyways.
