    Hi Misty! It was fun stitching along with you. I prefer a hoop to anything else, unless my design is large, then I tend to use the scroll frame and floor stand. I have been watching all your previous videos and catching up to the present. I think I just started the 2019 videos. I am really enjoying them! I hope you had an enjoyable Thanksgiving and I look forward to your next video! Happy stitching! 👍🏻👏🏻❄️☃️☃️❄️💜🤍💙

    Hello! Loved your stitch with me. I am working on Winter snowfall by Shannon Christine. I am using your Soft Sea 18 count Aida and I am using teals and white DMC. It is coming out lovely. I use whatever stand I feel like and sometimes I just use a hoop and prop it on my leg. I love your WIPS! Happy stitching and stay safe. Happy Thanksgiving!

    Hope you had a great Thanksgiving. I’m about finished first page of Dawn Chorus by Long Dog Sampler. Hopefully will finish it tomorrow. After that I’ll set it aside and work on some quick ornaments and possibly start on first design in Christmas at Hawk Run Hollow. I’m only doing a few cross-stitch at a time. I’ve got an embroidery project, a small advent calendar quilt, a little hedge hog to sew too before Christmas.
    I’ve never heard of macaroni and cheese for Thanksgiving. We did Turkey, cranberry sauce, chestnut dressing, mashed potatoes, and artichokes. No sweets this year. It was just the two of us.
    Thanks for info on frames. I love the Santa’s and really like the Winter Rose Manor. I’ll have to add that to my list.

    Thank you Misty for the great company during stitching time. I am in process of FFO on a Santa Prairie Schooler. I used Sulky Filiane Thread. Don’t know if you heard of it, but beautiful. I am lacing up the back, mounting on a stand up little easel, and some cording made with the Kreinick tool. Glad to hear you caved in and bought the Heavenly Ham. I do the same thing. Spend the money, or not?? Worth every cent spent on the quality and delicious flavor. Hope you enjoy it with your wonderful pie. Thanks for all you do designing for the community. I like that project. My husband loves ham and we are having the honey baked ham. Ours was on sale for $1.99 a lb if you got a bigger one and the small was $3.99 so we got the bigger and leftovers here too and will cube some to freeze for beans. I am looking into getting a stand and appreciate the advice. I will fix mac and cheese for my 5 year old, but want eat it. He is picky and that is why I fix it. Thanks for sharing. Really enjoyed comments about frames & stands. You reminded me that I have that fanny stand from a crewel class I took a few years ago. I’m mostly a hoop stitcher, sometimes in hand too. I don’t stitch in season, I’m a slow stitcher so I need to get an early start, not last minute. However I’m stitching In Santa Claus Land by WTNT while watching your video. Brenda always has great designs. I have one of your snowmen kitted up to do next. I have Winter Rose Garden started and would like to know your color choices, but “Community” is apparently not available to us iPad stitchers.

    I use a Kay's Creations stand and find if I have a larger piece on the stand is tilts, whether it's on my lap or a table. A friend introduced me to weighting it ( specifically, diving weights.) The little beaded kind which come in a bag and that has helped a lot.

    Ok Misty, on ur stand, put it in front of you. I use a few layers of batting to protect the rod. Ur hoop. Can't you pull the dowel out and saw a few inches off?????? Just saying.i have a new table stand coming from Office Supply of all places. Lol. It's an 8 or 10 in.hoop that's held on both sides. You can flip it over.... Thought it would be good for ornaments.??? Very informative.. Happy Thanksgiving 🦃🦃🦃

    • @MistyPursel
      @MistyPursel  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You and I think alike, Theresa. I have tried putting batting around the hoop and putting it in the floor stand. It put quite a crease in the linen even with that extra padding and I was worried I wouldn't be able to get it out when I ironed it. Vonna says she does it, so maybe it is fine. But I have been meaning to try putting the stem of the hoop in the stand to see if that would work--just haven't gotten to it yet. :) I'll report back.
      I also had thought of sawing off the bottom end of the dowel, but it won't work because the top is wider and can't go down farther into the shaft in the base.
      Your office supply table sounds intriguing!

    I struggle with higher count fabric. Do you find stitching in a hoop or scroll help with higher count?

      I think it can help a little to have that tension on the fabric. For me personally, what helped me see it better was getting a better light (and I didn't think the light I had been using before was at all bad).
      I got a Brightec light last Christmas because I liked that you could change the color of the light (helps for my model stitching), it has an adjustable arm, and it has a magnifier built in. I stopped using the magnifier because the light was really good and I haven't needed it. Don't know if it would help in your case, but maybe something to consider.

    Happy Thanksgiving, Misty. Really enjoyed this flosstube. So far, I only stitch in hand, but I appreciate your insight into frames. Today, I'm crocheting after Zooming with my family (some halfway across the world, some just across town) for our distanced holiday. I'm in Minnesota and had never heard of mac and cheese as a Thanksgiving side. But a couple of weeks ago, Ocean Spray posted this map of states' most popular Thanksgiving side dishes, and thanked New Hampshire, the only ones who named cranberries.😂 There's apparently a whole contingent of southern states who love mac and cheese! www.zippia.com/advice/popular-thanksgiving-sides/
