I will never forget that intro and the moment the shuttle is revealed. The best visit to an attraction I' ve ever made. Gave me goosebumps.

I shed some tears when it was revelead. As a kid I watched the STS launches on TH-cam and more than 10 years later got to see Atlantis in person. Amazing moment❤

Reassuring that I’m not alone in having an emotional response to the reveal. It is fantastic to experience in person.

I have lived in Brevard County for 28 years, last Sunday I went to the Kennedy Space Center visitor center for the first time. When I saw that curtain rise and I saw The Atlantis I cried with emotion. It has been one of the moments that I will never forget.

As Brevard county resident for my entire life I wholeheartedly agree. The twin sonic booms at 3:56 bring back so many memories.

The music makes this exhibit what it is. It's the perfect tribute to the space shuttle program.

This opening always makes me cry. I'm a space geek, and the space shuttle program is so fascinating to me. Unfortunately, I was never able to see a Shuttle launch in person, but watching videos makes it feel just as great. Hopefully we get to see something similar in the future

Seen this several times now, we were also lucky enough to see one of Atlantis's launches and saw it in the VAB before it headed to it's new home at the Visitor Centre. I still have tears, it is absolutely amazing and yes, extremely humbling. If you get the chance, this is a 'DO NOT MISS'

I have been here and seen this in person 3 times. I don't know how many times I have watched this on TH-cam. I. Can't. Watch. This. Without. CRYING. LOL 😭😂.

I just experienced this first hand today and I'm glad to find this quality capture of this experience. It was really awesome how they dissolved the image of that paper model into the real Atlantis behind the transparent screen. The paper model is described in a short movie, just preceding this movie, as the original brainstorm model of the Shuttle. This video unfortunately can't capture how awe-inspiring this unveiling was. I thought I was just going to walk into the room to see the Shuttle, but it was really a cool surprise.

I did a Kennedy visit not long after this exhibit opened and I'll never forget the awe I felt when it turned into the stars and you can see Atlantis. I'm no hardcore space geek, but always feel the wonder when I visit Kennedy. Got to do the tour they were doing for a limited time where they took you out to 39A, before it went back into a working state for private companies, and that was humbling being stood underneath a huge part of mankind's history.

Like so many have said, video cannot capture the emotions. To be nose to nose with Atlantis is incredible. And the fact that she still carries her battle scars and burns is amazing still.

I was at KSC last week and saw this. I have to say the video does not capture the moment (I don't think any can). The "Atlantis, welcome home" just brought out all of the childhood memories of watching the shuttle launch. The camera doesn't quite capture that moment when it's just stars and Atlantis fades in. It's an absolutely amazing entrance into a piece of history.

This was the best reveal at KSC for an exhibit. I also like the very "From The Earth to the Moon" style video before this that covers the development of Shuttle.

My dad and I are huge supporters of Space travel and the Space Shuttle. We'd wake early or late to see the launches on NASA tv. We visited Endeavour in 2012 when she was in her temporary hangar. Discovery in 2014 at the Smithsonian and finally Atlantis in 2016. This whole intro was just a fitting end to seeing the 3 orbiters that travelled the Earth countless times over. Shed quite a few tears. But when we saw the remains of Columbia and Challenger man... My father, mother and I felt a lot of emotion. Thanks to the millions of human beings who believed and still continue to believe in the dream. And to the men and women who have sacrificed.

This is why engineers need to work with other creative types for good displays! I'm an engineer and am very glad I didn't know about this reveal before it happened. Just need to see Endeavor (which I photographed flying out of the factory) in it's ready-to-launch position and my collection of flown shuttles will be complete.
