George LOVED auto racing, especially Formula 1. Him and Leo Sayer used to go to all the races. Bo Derek loves F1 too and goes to a lot of the races. She got her love of F1 from her late husband John Derek.
Well, when you get a Premier who knew he was going to lose the next election and knew that if he signed the new contract, it was going to be the opposition benefiting from it, they didn't sign the contract and we lost it to Melbourne who offered more money. Bernie Ecclestone said if Melbourne gives it up, it won't stay in Australia because China offered a lot of money for it and he decided that is who gets it next.

But I was volunteering during the GP in Adelaide as a Drivers Runner and I got to go to the Hilton Hotel after the race with drivers etc and got to meet him and listen to what everyone was saying. I was shocked about lots of things. I know he said Mr. Arnold didn't want to sign the contract as he didn't want the Liberals to get the GP here.
@@tommywm24 I was shocked he owned the race and was money hungry. Adelaide should have kept it and I hate politicians with their BS of not looking after South Australians but themselves
