I have to commend you on being one of the VERY few TH-camrs who actually respond and answer the comments made by people. I always wondered why these content creators even bother if they aren’t going to respond to questions and comments on their channels. I so appreciate you for that!
First time seeing your channel and I gotta say... you got me crackin up from those 'heckler' insult drops. Hilarious. Nice work and nice video set up too.
As a Spark 40 owner, I really like the Mooer better! I have had to do the magnetic battery pack on the back mod and I can’t believe Spark does not have a looper built in! I may be looking for a buyer for my Spark. Very well done review. Thanks.
Would love to see you do a head to head on the spark 40 x the NUX Mighty Space. Those seem to be the guys going neck and neck. The mighty space seems to be a fave of Andertons guys
Hey, I've got all the Spark Amps, the Spark 40, the Mini, and the Go. When played with headphones they all sound the same! I'm glad you like the Spark better. The Spark Rules. What guitar was that you were playing, the model and number?
Thanks. I was asking because the Spark says app effects are not stereo but the amp is so was curious on that wpuld effect the sound. I like stereo chorus amp sounds, Roland etc
What’s up Alan. I use my Spark all the time. Without headphones I use the headphones out to Studio Monitors. I also have the Spark wireless foot pedal.
Great comparison. They are so similar, there really is no compelling reason to ditch one for the other if I already own one. The battery and looper are definitely bonus but I think I’ll just stick with the Spark for now.
Can you play the mooer sd30i while is conected to the power cable? or do you have to wait until the battery is fully charged? Also for someone who likes a more traditional approach which amp gets closer?
Ive got the Spark and I'm loving it as a practice amp...get a footswitch with and twice the fun...it doesnt have to be the spark one...I got a knockoff called the airstep and it works great and cheaper of course
Airstep isn't a knockoff it's the flagship. It has loop where the positive grid one doesn't. It operates without the spark app being on top and the spark one doesn't.
Just picked up the Mooer today. Trying to dial in a good Enter Sandman type Metallica tone, but am really finding it hard to hone in on with this amp. Any advice on dialing this in?
@@GearGasms hey thanks for the quick reply! That's very rare these days! I have an Android, there are no reviews on the Play store for the app. So I'm sure it sucks balls lol
The best practice amp is the Katana mk2 head with the built in speaker. It can be a small portable practice amp and also powerful enough to gig with when plugged into a 100w cabinet, or Line Out to front of house.
@@GearGasms Katana 50 combo amp sounds boxy. I was considering getting one to use with an HX Stomp XL and small pedal board, and ended up with a Powercab 112 plus FRFR amp instead. The older non-plus version would have been fine too, since I don't use the speaker IRs much.
@@GearGasms the blackstar ht 5. The marshall dsl 5. I recently discovered the Blackstar Debut 50. That one kicks ass for only $250. Im a 55 year old beginner, I am not putting modeling amps down I just prefer to practice instead of messing with knobs and switches and computer and all that.
@@GearGasms yup, practice practice practice. I really miss your version of " roast my rig" segements yours were 100% better than that other guys. Will you bring it back?
Love these small desktop practice amps? If you do - here’s a whole playlist of them!

@@GearGasms No one can get to all of them; but you do answer a very large majority and that is to be commended!

I’ll reach out to Nux again but so far no dice
Question, the knobs for mod, reverb, and delay, do those control the mod/reverb/delay that are in the currently loaded preset?
Yes

@AngelMartinez-qs3cf thank you!

Yeah I have a bunch of AIRSTEPs but rarely use any footswitch. The one that they sent me for the Mooer is nice

I agree! Love using the Mooer downstairs

HA.. didnt know you did this video,.... well played. who else figures these amps are made in the same factory....? thanks Alan
Lol likely!
Is it louder than the spark?
No a little less loud being 30 watts
Thanx for the non-negative, intelligent content - Bravo ...
You’re welcome!
18:40 nice Love Stinks cover. LOL
Thanks Jim!
Hello Alan, does it have an output to send to a cabinet..????? Great run-through on both. I am preferable to the MOOER . Thanks for the video.
No just headphone out like the Spark

Sorry I’ve not spent much time with this amp yet. Try the tone cloud?
I’ve own my spark 40 for about 32 hours. The spin knobs act just like a slider if you just go up and down instead of spinning then.
Yep!
All right guys, which one sounds better That's all I want to know! Which one sounds less boxy and like a practice amp.
Neither sound boxy but overall maybe the Mooer sounds better simply because it has less bass but in a good way
@@GearGasms hey thanks for the quick reply! That's very rare these days! I have an Android, there are no reviews on the Play store for the app. So I'm sure it sucks balls lol
You don’t have to spin knobs on the spark app… just slide finger up or down instead of trying to go right or left
🤘🏻🎸🤓
When you said “categorize “, I seriously thought it was Matthew McHanohay talking.
Alright alright alright!
They don't need any mods for bass because bass can use all the same mods as guitar! Just have to make adjustments!
🤘🏻
The more settup the less likely i am to play. I have the go for late night n ive left it alone
I hear ya!
Can you feature David Gilmour's 3 million black strat? Oh man ok man the Spark man yeah man online presets man 😎
🤘🏻
THR30 II wireless FTW
Wait what?
No. I've had that one for 9 months and sold it in favor of a Spark 40.
@@Smart-Alex thanks for the input 🤘🏽
Never tried that one only the 10
@@GearGasms it’s a good amp, but amp cabs are worthless and there are not nearly enough tones as Spark

Love the Katana head and, if you are happy without the features of the Spark and Mooer, then yeah, its great.
I hate the sound of my Katana 50 though. I may not know how to dial it in however.

My Line6 AMPLIFi makes a great FRFR for my PodGo
The real draw to the Spark 40 and Mooer SD 30i are their App's offering tons of cool practice and jamming tools
Spark sounds too dark and muddy. I prefer the Mooer.
It’s a nice but underrated little rig!
If spark had a damn battery i would have gotten one already. such a lame oversight
Agreed
Nope, neither one is for me.
Do you have another practice amp that you like?
