Probably coz your opponents presses the keeper engage button as soon as you shoot. Whereas you forget to press triangle when your opponents shoots(from far range)

Do we need to release R2 while shooting ? Does it make any difference ?
Pranav Shah Yes it makes all difference, Releasing R2 makes the player concentrate on striking the ball whilst if sprinting it won't be accurate.

no it's totally different. Fifa 12 was all about defense. FIFA 17 is more focused on passing and attacking
