I just ordered mine ( Ares 12th-1 ) in Jan/ Feb of 2024 …so it should be with the latest firmware/ software updates.
As for my next purchase ..the NIKI stuff looks amazing !

Thank you Alvin, I was a bit disappointed with the release of the 12th-1, since I bought the 12th a couple of months ago. Fortunately the gesture of the discount on the streamer and now with the firmware upgrade I feel not let down! Thank you!

Alvin is correct, DACs are always on a continuous upgrade path otherwise the DAC slowly becomes obsolete. have owned 2 denafrips DACs; they offer a ton of performance for the money

I just bought Ares 12th last Friday 16 Jun 2023, but the Malaysia Dealer didn't tell me this 12th-1 is going to lunching this week, cause me to buy a outdate product. This the way doing the business ....

I am curious about what were the hardware changes between the Ares 12th to the Ares 12th-1? Is it just the chassis material? Or other internal changes, as well? If so, what specifically was changed?

Two caps, maybe a voltage regulator but only Alvin knows all the changes

I hope it supports Amazon HD native? Most steamers available today don’t with the exception of the Wiim products, though not native is still loaded.

Yup, we Need the integration of Amazon HD but via app, not via cast, because it will be degraded at 16/44

Alvin has answered this question for me, and yes there will be a new firmware for the Ares2/enyo at the end of this month.
