Not only is her career one of a kind ICONIC, but her journey leaving Michigan for NYC at a mere 19 years old in pursuit of an artistic career where she would struggle for years trying to make it, is legendary and ICONIC. She is a TRUE one of a kind the likes of which we will never see again.
I wish that for her autobiography movie that she is writing and directing that she would just focus on her pre fame period because there is so much to tell there and it deserves to be told we'll. Trying to focus on her whole artistic life pre fame, dancing career, music career, solo pre fame and then a 40 music career! It is just not possible to do credit to it all. If she wants to tell her whole story from the death of her mother up to being a mother today then it needs to be like a 5/6 part Netflix series. Maybe make a movie about her pre fame days in NYC and all the interesting people she was friends with like Keith Haring, Debi Mazar and Basquiat. Then Later a Netflix specials about her personal and artistic life. She wants to write and direct it because she wants it to be correct and true. But it needs a lot of time to tell all the craziness that happened. ❤❤
Beautiful Stranger was a summer anthem. Funnily enough, some of Madonna's biggest hits come from soundtracks (Crazy for You, Who's That Girl, This Used to be My Playground, Beautiful Stranger, Die Another Day etc). Despite not being on a studio album, it has been included in all her subsequent greatest hits compilations. ;)
So pleased you reacted to Madonna Rising its such a great glimpse into her early years in NYC I mean we had all heard the story but it hits different having her take us on a tour through her old haunts.
OMG! I'm so glad the Majourney is back! Madonna Rising is a gorgeous TV special, still have the OG vhs from 1998 when I taped it from the VH1 Madonna Weekend back in the day. - thx for the amazing content, as always. Can't wait to see the next episode on this journey. You're going to love the Music era ❤
@bennshouts The wait for Music has been wayyyy tooooo longggg! Just so excited for you to experience her new direction and pivot from ROL! It's a prolific era full of many new Madonna firsts, even this far into her career arc! ❤😅❤❤ Love your authentic reactions.....
Ciao con Beautiful Stranger also won an MTV Award given to her by Jlo and Mark of Sugar Ray who at that time were rumored to be more than friends. On the same evening they paid her a tribute of only drag queens
I remember this interview and I’ve watched it over and over again. Beautiful stranger is a smash. It was a huge hit all over the world, but it didn’t make me watch that movie! 😂😂😂.
Beautiful Stranger was released as a single peaking at no.2 in the uk, no.19 in the USA (on airplay alone, if the single was released it would of been a top 10 hit) and peaked at no.6 the Australia.
It was a shame she and Rupert fell out. They were in an abysmal movie together, which Rupert blamed for ruining his growing career. And then she married a man who (allegedly) didn't really like her gay friends (this also affected her relationship with her brother Christopher) Beautiful Stranger was definitely a Madonna Moment. Didn't matter at all that it wasn't on one of her albums. (I've never seen any of those movies either) Was the song you heard everywhere you went. Also her outfit in the video was what every girl I knew wanted for going out...menswear style trousers, a bare sparkly top and stilettos.
