Oh my god. The Cadets are probably the most underrated line in DCI at the moment. They consistently get the most difficult music every single year, yet they still get no awards
Vanguard & Blue Devils have been repping West Coast for generations. But let's face it...Cadets should be neck-&-neck w/ SCV every season... being from the west coast...I'd kill to see the Man Line in crank-mode one of these years.
I feel the same ,love all you guy's. I played snare with the Bridgemen 77,78, and80 youngest little guy back them. The cleanliness of what I hear is amazing even though I played with plenty of talented drummer's and Dennis Delucia was the best. I have to go with Boston since they are still around amazes me and also they sounded impressive. Also loved you Sue from Boston,It's Damian. I miss all the fun and practice. Enjoy it, it goes very fast, take from a pro. Very nice,I will be at some show's .Good luck to all of you.🎵🥁
m104 to the end is some sweet writing. Quads and Bass are already ahead of the curve. Snares are still pretty wet.... but by August... should be pretty crispy.
I agree totally with this. And I'd like to further with my belief that BD is incredibly OVERRATED. I mean...they're kinda dirty, even in their late season videos
There is a fairly significant typo at measure 14, beat 4. The sticking for that nine-tuplet should be RRRLLLRL; it is currently written as RRRRRRRL, which, aside from being impossible, is not what they're playing.
Found one ^^^ Seriously, you saying Vanguard is “untouchable” cements my point. If they’re so untouchable, then explain 2015, 2013, 2012, 2011, NEED I SAY MORE? Vanguard gets 2 consecutive Sanfords, and everyone wants to jump in on the Paul Rennick circle-jerk.
I’ve seen both the SCV and Cadets. Yes SCV has a more talented line, chill out now. Cadets just blow you away live and play with more intensity and loud sound.

Can someone please tell me the difference between the accented notes and the accent and short accent notes at the same time. You know, pointed upward one and sideways one, I don’t see how you could play both at the same time.
Believe it or not it’s different. It’s hard to explain but a 3/4 measure of 3:2 8th notes would have 8 notes total. But a measure of triplets 9. So 3:2 is slightly slower
reece m In Sibelius, when writing ratio modulations you have to switch how the tuplets appear(i.e. 5:3, or 4:3), but when you do that, every tuplet you write after will show as a ratio(3:2 instead of 3), but they are still the same. It could be that because of the amount mods, the writer was just lazy and didn’t want to change them back, which you can’t blame him, it is a bit of a hassle🤷♂️
They only make videos with drumlines that use Vic Firth sticks since it's a Vic Firth company youtube channel. Vanguard and Bluecoats use innovative percussion sticks
I don’t think it’s fair to have an elite force of robots discouraging us humans from aspiring to follow our dreams of being on a elite level drum line ❤ ahah
“How many notes can you cram into one measure”
Cadets:
Excalibur Umbra+ *_Hold my beer_*
isn't that basically what most of the east coast drumlines do?
and then rest for 10 years and repeat
Oh my god. The Cadets are probably the most underrated line in DCI at the moment. They consistently get the most difficult music every single year, yet they still get no awards
Came expecting some Cadets notes, left pleasantly surprised by the fresh ass sound design and beats up front. Nice.
Nailed the part from 1:27 to 2:20 first try at full speed
Brandon Collins 😂
Y O U W H A T M A T E
Woah that's so cool
I actually made it to that shot at 2:21
You god
Okay but... that piano though
It makes me happy to see a line not over-hyping every lick they play. Just stand there and be badasses
Can we get a NSFW tag on this please
Calm down, Comrade
You feelin alright man?
Nate Attinello little over the top....
Cadet kick please
Is the Nate Holmes I think it is?
Nate Holmes 2000 2003?

John Garrison my thoughts exactly bro 😂
this comment has no value yet so many upvotes. Why???
Kevin Peterson I dont know
You don't sound like someone that has interesting conversations
Kevin Peterson Okay
I just keep coming back to this because after the tenor feature I love how insane that pit break gets.

New year. More notes.
“This is what Satan makes you learn right as you enter Hell” -Caleb
i mean it's call demonic thesis so yeah
I like how the show is titled Unity Project but everyone is playing something else than others
Holy
G/than Works
Correction... that's HOLY NAME!
Mr. Cadets, please catch the world champion‼️ or at least 1st place percussion 🙏
2:20 visual from last year 👍
they do the visual every year nowadays. it's sort of an east coast tradition
What do they say? East coast?

Cracks me up that the 65% speed makes the drums' tuning sound like it's from the 1960s.
L J ⏳😎❤️🎶🥁🎶❤️😎⏳
This line is sick. The notes are cutting edge. Good to see Cadets back.
I love the style of this writing so very very artistic and stylistically just amazing
this is incredible
The book has a feel of 2006,2008,and 2011 throw in to the mix. I will say this, this book does need priest for sure!

Even in 2020 coming back to this...Those snare splits in the snare break 🥺 god has spoken
My best friend is in this video. Far left. SO proud of him💙
Cadets finna smash this year
It's not a Demonic Thesis without some angelic Book Reports! 💪😇👍
What the hell did I just watch that was insane way better than last year
SUH-WEEEEEEET
THEYRE BACK BABY!!!!!
Cadets seem to have the hardest book I've seen so far, at least outta crown and the crusaders
Send it to me!
Mr. BeatsMachine crown has never played anything near as difficult as cadets
They always do every year
Mr. BeatsMachine send me
Christopher Smith Examples please...
This is so groovy! Especially in the beginning
Can’t wait to see the full thing at the premier!!
Ahhhhh.... Finally some nice beats from the ol' boys of Bergen County
they gotta take it this year man
m104 to the end is some sweet writing.
Quads and Bass are already ahead of the curve. Snares are still pretty wet.... but by August... should be pretty crispy.
These guys are so underrated, can't believe BD isn't several points behind these guys. Seriously, they are in a different league.
I agree totally with this. And I'd like to further with my belief that BD is incredibly OVERRATED. I mean...they're kinda dirty, even in their late season videos
i love the aggressive writing
The men are back!
IT'S HERE
YYYYYEEEEESSSSS
🎶❤️🥁🤔👌😎🎆SOUNDS LIKE BD MIXED WITH SCV, GOOD LUCK FOLKS🎆😎👌🤔🥁❤️🎶
THIS IS THE CADETS DRUMLINE I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR.
Wow. Diggin’ this book already🙌🏻

Miss you cadets
Measure 14 looks incorrect that 9let cant be all rights, should alternate 3's :D
BRO LOOK AT THE FOOTPRINTS 😱 so professional
Lol 1:26 one right of center was like "uhhhhhh now!" on the sticks in haha
Beefiest line EVERY year. Nobody compares
Kyle Adams inb4 the SCV fanboy lol
Kaamel Mathis ActuAllY ScV Is BeTter tHan CaDets
People complaining about scv fanboys because they know scv is untouchable. Just like how everyone complains about blue devils fanboys.
Found one ^^^

I spy an incorrect sticking in the second ninelet in m 14.
Robert Hatley I was very confused for a second
*scratches head* "I know these guys are good, but that doesn't seem physically possible..."
Robert Hatley lol ikr
Moeller 😂
Also, on the third beat of A, the sticking should be RRLL, not RRRR.
Feel like I’m watching the learn the snare and bass music at the same time!
its been a year and im still in love with 2:29
THIS GOES SO HARD
...it's still June, right? ...just...jaw-dropping. the flare at :50 - super-fly.
2:42 when you play so loud the dynamics go above the notes
Why is that
serious contender for best percussion
holy shit... haven’t watched this in a while, and wow... just wow...
Long Live Cadets
I’ve seen both the SCV and Cadets. Yes SCV has a more talented line, chill out now. Cadets just blow you away live and play with more intensity and loud sound.
Unreal.
Currently learning this.
I’m liking the approach. Is that the Alan Aungst effect or something else?
So who else needs a change of pants
*gets confidence boost when ending at the right time in 60% then remembers that I have to actually play the damn music right too*
Absolute Total badassery... is there a video for this for the quads?
Yes
The title fits the book well, let’s see if they win the Best percussion over SCV
Manline.
vic firth what the hell why wasnt the tenor audio this clean
Check out that dude's front and backflip stick at 3:10
Cool Stuff
Are all these dynamics changes real....like. Honestly
This grooves so hard at 85%
I can read the rests
Daddy Galetta
Can someone please tell me the difference between the accented notes and the accent and short accent notes at the same time. You know, pointed upward one and sideways one, I don’t see how you could play both at the same time.
Straight heattt
The 3:2 rhythms isn't that the same as the triplets?
Yeah, I noticed that as well. It's probably just to avoid confusion with all of the other tuplet groupings going on.
I️ think its done like that because they are offbeat triplets.
Believe it or not it’s different. It’s hard to explain but a 3/4 measure of 3:2 8th notes would have 8 notes total. But a measure of triplets 9. So 3:2 is slightly slower
No, that would be a 4:3 tuplet
reece m In Sibelius, when writing ratio modulations you have to switch how the tuplets appear(i.e. 5:3, or 4:3), but when you do that, every tuplet you write after will show as a ratio(3:2 instead of 3), but they are still the same. Yeet
Kaleb Roney I know right...
Please make more videos like this. Maybe with Vanguard or Bluecoats.
They only make videos with drumlines that use Vic Firth sticks since it's a Vic Firth company youtube channel. Vanguard and Bluecoats use innovative percussion sticks
Type Xeon I know but still be cool to see
What the fuck are those splits my mind is blown
Man have I got a long way to go
YEAH THATS MY TECH TOM!
i was freaking over the typo at 0:41 , measure 14. the second 9’s there is 6 right hands, i was like no way
If this isn’t the drum feature than I’m scared to think what the drum feature will be
David Mosher me too
I don’t think it’s fair to have an elite force of robots discouraging us humans from aspiring to follow our dreams of being on a elite level drum line ❤ ahah
Gamechanger.
I can play the snare part from 2:00 to 2:05 pretty well.
I couldn't even nail 4:58, not even at the slower tempo!!
Cool Stuff Still
Why was there a sudden switch in the notation of the tuplets?
Ben Baggerly I'm sayin
It would be fine if it was consistent the whole way through that kinda makes it more confusing
I love you donnie
Never trust edited comments.
0:53
PERFECT
Youngy ASMR uhhhhh there's still a good 5 ticks in the snare feature.... or are you talking about the rests?
Im talking about the music playing there. The pseudo techno background music played by i'd assume drumset and synth.
The r on l at the beginning, its r r (on l) l l
pretty sure beat 4 of m14 isnt R R R R R R R L but you know maybe they wanted a challenge and changed it
they play it R R R L L L R L in the video lmao i was just as confused as you
I can’t wait until that snare feature is piss clean. If they don’t get top 3 percussion I’m done
RADZADproductions I guess you’re done?
Yea I’m not going to try to learn this. I’ll leave that to them 👌🏾
Tooooooooooooooooooommmmmmmmmmmm
0:57
"Hi-Mom"
XD
I was all over those rests!!
Haha I can already say there’s been a lot added musically wise to the whole thing 😉in the past few days after seeing them tonight
Is there a typo in the first measure?? or is it me?
