Eh we managed to invite 400 people and keep it under $4000, dresses and venue included. I chopped down my own bamboo for decor, took two weeks off from work to cook for it with my Mom, bought dresses at goodwill, made my own song list, and people still say it was the best wedding they've been to. Lightsaber fight included, man. It's all on how you do it.

What really caught me is I am passionate about nursing homes and memory care facilities so I deeply appreciate folks in the funeral industry. Love y’all. One day I’m for sure calling in.

Right. It's also so possible to make it big like that and not expensive. We did ours for under 4k and in fact got 9k in donations to the charity we put on our registry. And we did that by inviting 400+ people but cooking, decorating, and doing music ourselves, plus buying dresses at Goodwill. I had TWO gorgeous wedding dresses some other chicks had thrown away. I had lightsaber fights and a rocking dance floor. I had bamboo and giant silver looking paper cranes. We cut and folded that shyyte ourselves. And it was fun. I included all 7 of my siblings--my family last minute didn't let my autistic brother carry the thing I wanted him to carry, but my choice was to keep everyone involved. And shoot, I wish I'd let MORE girls be bridesmaids. Including people lasts forever. Excluding people--like my sister did to me in her much more expensive and much less fun wedding--also lasts forever. Why not bring a little joy to people? Save money, bring joy. That's our philosophy.
My buddy who has consistently been late for the 30+ years I knew him was upset that I didn't pick him to be a participant in the wedding. Dude has always been flaky and unreliable.
When did weddings become like royal coronations? I married my wife after dating for five months. We had 30 people at our wedding. I’ll be married 43 years next week. Listening to all the drama with modern weddings makes me glad we didn’t have a big wedding. When young people say they can’t get married because they don’t have an engagement ring that’s a bunch of baloney. I didn’t give my wife an engagement ring till we were married 20 years and she never wears it anyway. What we did give each other was a lifetime commitment, an oath to God and three kids and six grandkids. Just get married and move on.
Since someone said this deserves more views - I fully agree, but for this channel and only this channel TH-cam never gives me any notifications. It's super strange.
